  1. Sorry to hear your woes me but welcome to our world out here on the floor. Seems like if you were not to be effected by any of this we would not be hearing from you? Typical of our union representation out on the floor...and we are going thru the same situation as you at the present time. I wish I could feel for you but the years I have been given it up the a-s by my union has made me numb to your pain. May I suggest some lube!!! Makes it a little more easy to take when you feel Fords bent way forward part 3... MTPGUY
  2. That door was opened when Ford pitted DTP against MTP on future product and the 150 from NAP. For them to be able to contract out these jobs I feel is just wrong. As we gain seniority we were supposed to able to bid on what we call better jobs. So now when Ford is able to do this at the plants what will be next? Saving jobs is important but what jobs are we saving and for how long. That opened a can of worms. MTPGUY
  3. Well it would be nice if some more info was passed along from our union on how we are all going to be effected by the layoffs and transfers. They probably are aware of what's comming down the road but not wanting to create an even more disgrunteled work force. But how do you make such a life changing decision without knowing the facts? More detailed info needs to be available to us the dues paying UAW members. At this point (NOV23) I still am not sure what choice I'm going to make? and there's four days left....MTPGUY
  4. LenA, All I was saying is we all have our opinions on what is happening at Ford and we are able to disagree on some of the things being discussed. That's how we sort through the bull and make somewhat informed decisions or voice opinions. There are many different factors that go into getting Ford into the position it's in at the present and you have mentioned some. We should all know that it's just not jetting back and forth to Florida that these exec's are able to do and it's not the only perks they are offered when hired, many we don't see and are unaware about and that is reality. But my feelings are that when those at the top say one thing and do another I wonder what else they have planned that they are not telling us. What else will be said but not followed on our end as we lose jobs and try and take care of our families? It's just sad all the way around. The greed in corporate america is out of control and when they don't produce (such as Nassar) they still float down on their golden parachutes, what is is we float down on or into?? MTPGUY :reading:
  5. amen brother You got that right!!!! MTPGUY Keep Diggin Steve and maybe you'll even find those pumps....MTPGUY
  6. Yes isn't it gret that they pitted one plant against another in order to achieve their agenda. They will be able to cut some heads now that DTP has opened the door for more outsourcing of jobs, material and maintenance. If we all don't think they are looking at building are platform at DTP we need to wake up. We are going down to 1 shift and if the nimbers don't require them to keep a large facility open to build that one platform they will take it to a plant like DTP. They are much more flexible than MTP so we need to open our eyes. It's all about cost!!! except if you want to fly home to Boaca Raton for the weekend. MTPGUY You actually believe your committeman???? Think about the source.
  7. Good job Steve, I believe the individuals who trash you need to take a good look at what you are trying to expose. What these high up execs are still spending during a time of hardship at Ford Motoer is un excuseable. We the UAW memebers are going to pay the price due to poor management of the company. I believe as others that the money spent on perks and bonuses could be better spent on product development or saving a few jobs (which they are nor concerned about). I disagree with some of the attitudes towards you here on this site. The truth needs to be told and some of these individuals need to hear it and get with the reality of the situation. Things need to change from top to bottom as I believe I have heard before. By the way who said that? Hope you find the pumps. MTPGUY
  8. I believe it's an insult to all UAW members to have some our leadership (Mark Fields) flying home at such an expense to the company (in his contract or not) because we were told it would not be business as usual and things needed to change from top to bottom. Well its changing but what I and others see is mostly from the bottom at the expense of UAW jobs. Layoffs, closings and buyouts are stressing many members to the limit on what to do with their lives and how to take care of their families. I'm sure Mr.Fields is back in Boca Raton this weekend stressed out about his job and future at Ford, wether his family will make it through this??? He could care less about us he is a pompous, self absorbed ego maniac who loves the spotlight and is only out for his wellbeing. His mannerisms in front of a camera exude that. I personally agree that Mr. Fields and others should tighten their belts also due to the crisis at Ford. If we pull out of this with the lights still on then those who pulled us from the wreckage should be due theirs including every UAW worker. But business as usual needs to change right now and that includes the top. Because we sacrifice our time as well as our physical wellbeing everyday to build the vehicles that create the revenue for Ford and the shareholders. Isn't that what this is really all about...greed pure greed. The lease cars, fuel, insurance, maintenance, stock options, bonuses and perks should all be part of what has to be sacrificed during these hard times, not just us the UAW members. Exposing the truth is not a bad thing especially when there is something to hide. Just my opinion
