  1. Earlier today while out and about, I stopped by a Fort Worth area Ford dealership and was suprised to see they had just received their first shipment of '08 SuperDutys'. Looked at a couple of 4x4 F250SD CrewCabs fully loaded and man are they sweet! All eight trucks that I looked at had the new 6.4L in them, and I'm assuming that the large majority of these trucks will have this engine over the two gassers. Does anyone know what the latest is with Ford and International regarding the PSD lawsuit? I hope that Ford can sell these things like hotcakes, barring any production setbacks while the two companies battle it out in court. I'm quite sure that these new powerhouses are gonna stomp all over the Chevy's,Dodge's,and GMC's.
  2. That's exactly right. I live in Texas and as far as trucks and vans are considered, 99.9% of the ambulances, small fire trucks, tow trucks, class C motorhomes chassis and general contractor vehicles are either Econolines are SuperDuties, so when it gets down to brass tacks, those folks know that there is really only one choice.
  3. Traveler, I think you are spot on. My dad bought and still owns 2 panthers, a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis, both still running strong and neither drips or burns any oil. Absolutely bulletproof vehicles. As far as other older CV's/GM's in my part of the country, the Fort Worth Police Dept. still to this very day are using a few '96-'97 models of CVPI's. I don't see any comparable Chevy police cruisers of this age still on the road, so that tells me plenty of what a "real" police car is. IMHO, you can't get more car "dollar-for-dollar" than these two vehicles. As many say that they need a total refresh, and that maybe true, I love these two cars and can only hope that Ford doesn't completely cease production anytime soon. We'll see what happens I guess.
  4. Yesterday, (Thurs. 01/25/07) I took my Mercury Grand Marquis to Karl Klement Ford in Decatur,Texas for some service work and just wanted to take a moment to tell you folks that this dealership"out in the country", is where I will purchase my next Ford auto from. The people that I interacted with there are truely professionals in every sense of the word. The service writer was efficient and genuinely cared for me as a customer. While waiting, I walked around the dealership and spoke with a very friendly salesperson that showed me around. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner and speak to him for a few minutes. This particular dealership is a very established one that has been there for better than twenty years and one that I felt very comfortable in dealing with. I can certainly see why this Ford store gets so much repeat business as in my opinion, it is the very model that all Ford dealerships across the country are striving to be. I will be back and will tell everyone that I speak to about the exceptional service that I received there. Ford Motor Company, you've got a real winner here!
  5. I just want to tell all the good folks at STAP that you guys build a very fine car in the Mercury Grand Marquis. My family is one that buys Ford or Mercury vehicles exclusively and have purchased more than 20 in the last 3 decades and loved them all. Unfortunately, due to high diesel fuel prices this last summer, I had to sell my F250 SD with 7.3l. However, I'm really pleased with the Mercury Grand Marquis and think for the money, you can't get a better car with RWD and V8 power.
