I'm one of those who is physically disabled and have been on my dad's insurance (he's retired) after I turned 26. I am 43 now. They are wanting me and I assume others to try and get disability, but then I would have to pay for Medicare. I'd go in the hole having to pay based on my parent's income. My argument as the benefit highlights for 2024 say no contribution payment for health insurance. Why would I want to start paying for Medicare when it's not going to cost a thing in 2024 for retirees??

Update: We received our enrollment confirmation papers in the mail. We are still only paying $34 a month for family.

It's because it's not open enrollment right now
So how are we supposed to know what we are going to pay in 2020?? We called and picked one of the two plans listed on the website, but are not sure what it will be costing us.

The 2020 Benefits Highlights say one cost, but when you go to reenroll on the website, it says totally different and much higher costs. It's very confusing.

How often is o.t. offerred on your r.d.o.?.................the whole point of this deal is to cut out the overtime.....that's what I've heard anyway.
My dad seems to think the paycheck will be for 52 hours every week. So there is overtime??

No matter how/when you get the money it will be taxed!

I've heard two things, one, Ford employees must transfer to a Ford plant. The other is $38 miilion dollars from Ford to be given to the Sandusky plant for maintenance. So who knows. Just don't count on staying in Ohio if you are a Ford employee at the plant. Walton Hills is closing and an article that I read said that noone will be able to stay in Ohio from that plant. They will have to go out of state for a job at another plant.

10,309 Focuses? Really Ford? What the heck is the story with this thing? Are you freaking shipping ANY of these to dealers???
Absolutely gangbusters month for F-series though. :happy feet:
There was a supply issue wirh parts. Reason why the Cruze is out selling the Focus and a few other cars.

Its two early to attack the tentative agreement or to proclaim it an earth shattering one either. But i am pleased to see a couple of things.
1. They saved a plant. Thats alot of union brothers/sisters who won't be gone.
2. The two tier people got raises. In my book that is the most important thing these contracts needed to address.
And better health benefits, which we all know is hard to come by.

I agree way too quiet , somebody told me there was something in the paper saying its not going good with Ford or Chrysler.
Yes, it was in my paper here yesterday. Wages are a huge issue.

Stop your squawking and pay for your own vision coverage if you don't like the handout that the retirees are using!
Handout? Hardly!
-
Can someone negotiate on behalf of the retirees a different vision place? SVS is a pain in the butt and that's all that the insurance will cover. Which isn't much BTW anyways!

I just heard my dad saying two people had told him they hate the Impala. They can't see out of it the headrest blocks the view.

Add sliders and I would 99% chance buy one. Because it currently doesn't have them. I won't buy one!

I'm sorry too but I have to ask, is a Flex not on the list?
No, it wouldn't work.

I just read an article that said in order for Ohio to get this on the Nov. ballot it would cost Unions $10-$20 million. But it would be worth it in the end.

My dad's plant is working like crazy. They supply parts for the Chevy Cruze.

When collective bargaining was taken away in Missouri and Kentucky, we fought and got our rights back.
This was in an article sent to me from AFSCME, public school employee Union.
WE have to fight to get our rights back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't give up!!!

Yes, he was an hourly employee.
I'm aware everyone is required to apply for Medicare when they are 65. I'm not as I stated above I'm 43.
Our issue is Medicare payment is based on income of household. Since I'm considered a dependent my parents' income counts against me. The little bit I could get from SSD would not be enough to cover the cost of paying the monthly premium.
