  1. Posted my delivery experience (received the car yesterday...just in time to avoid today's snow storm). On cloud nine now! Check the thread and photos here: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36997 It was worth the long "agonizing" wait! Great dealer experience start to finish. Thanks for the help here. 2. Gosh! I post one "whining" thread complaining about my extended wait for the car and BAM! It's on a transport truck headed this way! OK... I know it's a coincidence but "Pioneer" made my day! Or... maybe "fuzzymoomoo" kicked some butt down there and cut through the red tape? Can't wait!
  3. Anyone know somebody at the Flatrock plant that might help me get some information on a specific vehicle? I grew up in Dearborn, father worked at "Ford's" (as we called it back then) for 35 years. I was a teenager in the "Total Performance" era (early-mid 60's) and have purchased Ford products my entire life. My friends say I "bleed Ford blue." Not that any of that matters... just the back story. So, after 50 years of wanting one, and at the age of 67, I finally decide to order a Mustang. A 2016 GT350. Ordered it on June 12th. Paid a rather sizable "ADM" to get the first one allocated to one of our local Ford dealers. After a long wait, I was finally notified by my dealer that the car was produced on October 21st and was scheduled for an October 31st delivery. Great news... thinking I had a chance of driving it before the snow flies. Now, four weeks after production, the car still sits (outside I'm sure) at the Flatrock plant, apparently subject to a "Plant Hold." Worst of all, FoMoCo offers no clue to the dealer as to the reason for the hold and they have no estimated release date. This is the response sent to the dealer by Ford: Thank you for your Dealers Ask Ford (DAF) Inquiry, Unfortunately, we have identified the unit in question is affected by a plant hold. At this time there is no projected timing for release of this vehicle. Please continue to monitor this vehicles progress by logging into Vehicle Visibility through FMCDealer. You may track the status of this vehicle through the Vehicle Visibility website. Thank you, Ford Motor Company Because Ford has a system that permits the dealer to see when the car was produced, it would seem to me that they might also set some sort of "limit" (timewise) after which Ford would want to communicate to the dealer what the cause of the hold is and what was being done to release the vehicle, ETA and etc. In the absence of that (as in this case) the customer (me) is left imagining all sorts of terrible misfortunes that have been visited on the car. Maybe I expect too much? In any event, now snow is in the forecast and I'm left in the dark. Not my dealer's fault... they have been great. "Order Fulfillment" report is attached. VIN: 1FA6P8JZ9G5520394 If someone at Flatrock could help... I'd really appreciate it! Thanks for letting me vent a bit of my frustration! Bill Grand Rapids, MI PS: I'd rather eat worms than drive a Chevy.
