  1. Let me run this by the troops here on the forum: I have a 1995 Mustang-GT 5.0 that I bought brand new in April of 1995. Oddly enough when I had my clutch replaced by a Ford dealer here in NH I was told it has a Cobra transmission in it. That was at 225,000 miles on it. They asked me if I did that mod and I said no, I bought it by telephone from one of those buying services. The car came that way. Anyway this car is the best car I ever had. I have had some long running Mazdas but this car now has 426,000 (four hundred twenty-six thousand) miles on it and it runs great. I have had NO engine work done on it at all. No additives, no mods on the engine. Only a K&N air filter. My mechanic thinks that I should have at least one new engine or at least a major rebuild or at the very, very least some seals replaced. I have no oil leaks, no smoke coming out of the tailpipe either while running or on the first start in the morning. When I bought this car Consumer Reports gave it black marks for fit and finish and frequency of repair if I recall correctly. My experience is far from that. It doesn't even rattle. I drive it in the winter and put studded snows all around. I go over some serious snow mounds (no snow yet this year) and do very well on ice. Is there anyone out there who has had a 1995 Stang GT 5.0 who drives it in the snow and drives it every day like I do and has this kind of reliability. I thought only Japanese cars could do that. It would be great to hear from you. I service computers as a field service engineer and this car is my day to day workhorse.
