The 5.4 has 80% of torque available at 1500 rpm.
^That
I don't know the details on the 5.0, but I don't see it having the tq curve of the modulars. I'd be glad to be proven wrong though.
-
So we're looking at 6.7 PSD, 6.2 gas, maybe the 5.0 (or will the 5.4 continue with it's low end grunt?) and a new 6spd auto? And the exterior/interior of course.
-
Does anyone know if they will be getting a new cab structure or is it another changing the grill and adding new drive trains? What about the interior?

Superduties are leaps and bounds better than the older trucks. The 05-07 style is still my favorite, looking forward to seeing what they do for the '11s.

I'm doing a research and presentation project for my engineering materials class and have chosen to do it on the CGI material I've been hearing about for Ford's new diesel engines. Does anyone have some sources of information on them or know if they are still planning on doing that? I remember reading something about the possibility of CGI in some of the newer gas engines also.
Thanks

Chuck they can be found in good condition for under 3000. Or find a truck with a 400/351m - 460 swap is stupid simple, in the process of building a 460 right now for my 78 bronco.
-
Seems like if they brought the lights down a few inches and brought some of the fender/hood onto the vertical plane of the front of the vehicle it would look a hell of a lot better..

Old truckers tale.
These engines have undergone extensive testing, under normal and extreme conditions, with no special start up or shutdown procedures.
Kind of off topic, but do you know if the powerstrokers have the "water cooled center bearing" in the turbos? I always let my 6.0 idle down for about a minute under normal driving, longer if I'm towing heavy or driving the piss out of it.. per the owner's manual.
-
only for engaging 4x4 Low.....
The auto/manual hubs in the superduty are manual backup for if the vacuum system fails - either in 4hi or 4lo. My vacuum system hasn't worked since I bought my truck, I just get out and turn the hubs manually (actually leave them locked in most of the time)
Is it me? Or do the doors look shorter...I noticed that as well.. strange. Maybe it's something like when the 04+ F150 first came out with a larger space in regular cabs?? Or it could just be an optical illusion.

The one due for replacement is a Saturn L wagon. I need a wagon (lower load height than most crossovers), want similar (or better) mpgs (upper 20s around town, mid 30s on the road, want something without a console (the low one in this car gets very uncomfortable - larger ones such as in the Fusion are just unacceptable), and want something with decent power and handling.
Not something easy to find.
What about the Flex? Has a center console, but I don't think you're going to find much of anything that doesn't have one..

There was a harley truck last year or the year before with 450hp I think. It was touted as the most powerful f150 ever iirc...
-
ball joints and the unit bearings on the front end - make sure they are replaced before buying if you're working on a deal they are $$$ to replace. brakes on these trucks don't last very long without warping either so if it's vibrating like hell when you step on the brakes it's pretty common, but new brakes never hurt a deal either. as far as the 7.3... they're pretty bullet proof, the only problems they have really is the cam sensor that will go out occasionally but they're cheap and easy to replace. umm.. pinion seals on the sterling 10.5 rear axle are sometimes a problem. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

this one is pretty sweet
gave me like 25hp i could feel it
-
I'd like to see one of these trucks reviewed on top gear.
Bad ass truck, I think there might be something wrong with you if you don't think its cool just based on how badly it beats the competition.
-
Nice.
my aunt's old crv had the picnic table thing, not a new idea, but still a cool thing to have.
-
yeah, but people will still roll them doing over the speed limit, sue ford, and then get millions of dollars for being a moron.

on another forum I frequent everytime someone makes a thread celebrating post numbers, their post count gets reset to 0.
just a thought

this is that the cutie little bronco and not the abombination we got after 1977...in 1978 ford really pissed me off with asnine full size bronco...why they ever did that is beyond reproach..another ford fucked up idea....
:do what: :do what: :do what:

I don't really care for the name either, but it won't effect sales with a product that good.
-
No. We don't have license plates either. Are you that thick?
Ok. So everyone has stock vehicles with and you never see anyone without a plate?
I don't know what you're problem is, but it was a legitimate question considering it looks like a complete hack job someone would do in their driveway.
And maybe I missed it, but how exactly am I supposed to know what street that is?

People don't mod their trucks in Michigan?
-
how do we know its not some guy that decided to mod his current f150 to have the big fender flares? the guys out on the west coast do it all the time...
-
I agree with everyone saying its a good truck. It was a fun truck, did decently on mileage. With a few tweaks and updates it could be a great seller again. and if it doesn't grow much there is still room for an f100 between it and the f150.

just picked up another bronco
haven't decided if i'm going to try to fix it or take the parts I need for my other one and part the rest out.
Ford's all-new diesel is curiously quiet
