The American civilians are doing the same thing as during Vietnam: The politicians (Congress) voted for this war, and they represented their constituents that voted them in. Now that the war has proved tougher than anybody thought , these same politicians want to pull out. Most of these guys are running for President in 08. The difference now is that if we get out, the war will follow us home. It didn't after Vietnam. The civilians don't have the stomach for war, or the brains to understand how important it is that we win. We have let our brave soldiers and Marines fighting for us down miserably!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a welder at mtp. We are going to have a vote on COA on Jan. 21. We had a meeting today about the state of FoMoCo and they are basically telling us to vote in COA or you are finished as a plant. COA is going to cut jobs, production and trades. Thats a fact, like falling market share and plummetting SUV sales!!! Hell of a choice they are giving us, ain't it? It WILL pass (whether it gets 51% or not)!!!!!

Can anybody tell me more about the COA crap and how it affects the trades? I'm about ready to take a f**kitol pill !!!!! :happy feet:

Thank you for your info. As a low seniority welder (10 years), sounds like i am screwed. Might be able to go back into production with 12.5 yrs Ford seniority, but that might not be enough either. Remember, MTP is going to one production shift 2nd quarter of this yr. BITCHES!!!!!!!!

Anyone know what happens at plants where the COA is implemented? What happens to the Welders and Millwrights? Do they keep a limited # of certified Welders, and layoff the rest? Do they combine Welders and Millwrights, then layoff based on seniority, and then train Welders to do Millwright work, and Millwrights to do "incidental" non- certified welding ? What did they do at DTP? I work at MTP and on Jan. 21 were gonna vote on this bullshit "tentative" COA agreement!!
