  1. deanh, I owe nothing to you but you may want to check out this thread maybe you would like to see the car as you are such an expert? car simply passed final inspection did it not? or maybe I just picked it up at factory that way? lol http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=6402
  2. Thats fine Richard. I guess the truth hurts? Maybe if you came to see the car yourself it would be a bit different? Your judgement to remove my posts or lock them is very one sided and you know it. Can you give me a single good reason why I am not allowed to post pics of my car? I also learned of your source a bit ago too. (I can post name if you would like) With that source you definately did not get the proper story! all I did was post a few pics of a AAI paint job thats not up to par and you feel the need to remove them? WIth all the other stuff you allow on these forums it seems a bit one sided? supposed you will edit this too? http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=6402
  3. earlier in the posts richard asked me question and now says he cannot say? That should have been a hint to you. And yes I did receive at least 4 or 5 personal emails from mr mulally. and yes I am very aware of what comes from where as far as coolant and fuel and know the shelbys only have approx 2 gallons of fuel put in at factory and dealer is supposed to fill the tank. Some of them are actually running out of fuel before delivery like my Black Shelby did. As far as me not saying what dealer did and did not do thats up to me If I want to post it but like Richard I am chosing not to. If you do not like it you are free to read other topics. sorry
  4. deanh, No you are actually off on all accounts, really. Who do you think Mr Mulally's right hand people are? And if I did not have direct contact how would I even know the names, phone numbers and emails to all? You called my bluff. email Mr Mulally at Alan (A.) Mulally <xxxxxxx>, Ask him yourself. I could actually post his personal emails if you would like? how about Amy his secretary or Karen J another right hand gal? I am not just blowing smoke here like you would think. Mr Mulally did what most big wigs would not do email me direct and more than once. He then gave it to appropriate person(s) to deal with. As long as you are emailing him you may want to ask whatever happened to my full tank of gas, and oh also ask him why my coolant leak was ignored and not handled & you can even ask the so called engineer why he took pics of the coolant leakage signs and the coolant resivoir being way low? I have driven the car less than 30 miles. I think a few more pics are in order and that way I do not have to say much. You may want to give Bill Ford a call too as he was aware of my first Shelby. See if he remembers that, his direct phone is 313-322-xxxx don't really want to give you his email ..... lol
  5. Robert? or Richard? Anyway now you know when you asked me the story of what happened when I did not say? correct? Here you are saying they have only heard one side of story? Thats not at all true and you know it. All they have here is pics of sloppy paint from AAI. They know nothing about my side of story. If they in fact knew my side of story they would be with jaws hanging with how this all played out. So with your quote(s) "All I'm going to say is you're only seeing one side of this story." "But I can assure you that there is much much more to this than what you've seen here." This only tells me "one" thing "YOU" have only heard one side of the story! There is only ONE place YOU would have heard anything more.
  6. The top brass has pictures and also the links to this post. Not sure how they got them but they have them
  7. No the car was not worked on at dealer as I was across the street getting ready to have lunch when the car transport pulled up. Obvious what happened is the car had a blem after e-coat or in e-coat and someone sanded the right side with too course of a DA paper it was then painted over leaving the DA marks in paint
  8. In no way did I verbally abuse any Ford employee. Tried to get them to do something about the paint. Other issues with car were not even part of my complaint. better pics here The dealer is long out of picture and I have been last having contact with Fomoco's exec office of mr mulally. he really seemed to care in the few emails we exchanged but it went a bit too far back down the ladder to local Zone manager. Basically they do not fix typical inherent issues with the cars. If this is typical its not a wonder they are going down the tubes. In past 30+ yrs its been 1 new dodge in 79 a little red express and in 83 a new HO Z28 all the rest have been fords. 4 new Fords in past year and they treat me like this? not even an offer to sand and buff paint just screw you we will fix stripes which I did not really care so much about. In order to make car right the entire car will have to be sanded and buffed hoping there is enough clear on car which I doubt. I will have to give toyota a call to see if they want a Shelby (HALO car) to show what the competitor sells to customers.
  9. deanh, yes it was bought new. much too long a story to go into detail at this time. I cannot think of anyone who would buy a new shelby who would think these DA marks are acceptable. I can live with the body fitment issues along with the bubbles in stripes. I was there when car transport came in and inspected it at that time prior to cleanup, the roads were an absolute mess so did not see it clean again until car was home. Thats all I will say at this time. By the way my First Shelby a black one with upper stripe delete had perfect paint on it. no complaints on that car at all. This one is just something I will have to live with. Its not that you can just order another!
  10. the videos may show DA marks better than the camera does. I made a joke about the fender sticking out windnoise because the tires are so loud it would not matter if you had fenders on or not. His comment just caught me by the funny bone at time it was made thats all. I bought the car for what it is. (not my first shelby which had pretty much perfect paint and was black) Maybe after a few open track events I will forget about paint Actually as the paint is shrinking the marks became more noticable. You would think after being in oven curing it would not but.... I think the drivetrain on the Shelby is incredible and the drive is great. AAI plant needs a few painting lessons. My worst paint jobs are better than this crap. When I take it to shows will just have to say its one of Fords new Jet jobs.. looks good from a jet
  11. You did not read my whole post or mis-took for what I was saying. I am not at all complaining about the tire noise just making a comment to what the engineer said about fitment. That it was intentional to take away wind noise!
  12. No it was not at night but poor lighting conditions. I never expected a perfect car and could have lived with its other issues. Paint issue was not noticed until car was detailed. Dealer did not go over car with me when delivered. A much too long story for here. I am just pointing out this particular car has a paint issue and Ford is not willing to do anything to remedy it. They said they would fix the bubbling in stripes but that was not that big of an issue as the paint is. I am just pointing out that fomoco's newest halo car poor paint is acceptable. 20' away it looks good but less than average car people are able to see the flaws in paint.
  13. nothing being done at any level. this has been ongoing since january. working on a video now and as soon as I can will post how it even shows up on video. There are also other issues with car. A laughable one is the engineer who inspected car said when the front fenders stick out from doors ford does it intentional to cut down on road noise. no BS. the tires make so much noise on these cars you could take the front fenders off and not hear the wind noise. absolute joke. Final decision made to bad so sad deal with Ford. These marks can be seen from 4-5' away. This is not being picky as could pick the entire car apart with quality issues. Paint is my biggest concern and ford says too bad.
  14. So everyone does not take this the wrong way I have been a die hard Ford guy for over 40yrs. Purchased this Shelby in January and this is what I get. Fords FINAL word today was this is acceptable paint and they will do NOTHING about it. Yes this comes fromt the top of Food chain as mr mulally and mr fields along with mont wright were all involved in some way. They even sent an engineer to my home to inspect car. While here he said he understood my problem with paint. A little while ago heard fom the Ford Zone Manager a Eric Nelson who basically said tough SHIT. Very minor flaws in stripes they said the would fix but paint? Said it was typical and they would do nothing. At least I now know I will never have to waste another dime on a new Ford Product. As time allows I will post some quotes from FoMoCo regarding this car. I will also post some video on youtube of the Ford engineer Curt Ryan inspecting car. Not sure where the final decision came from but if this is acceptable to Ford then its simply no wonder they are hurting like they are. Until this happened do not think I have ever bad mouthed ford motor company but have to say now if this crap comes from top of food chain its no wonder Toyota is looking so good in peoples eyes.
  15. with the kind of product ford is turning out these days its a wonder they are still in business Check out the paint on this Shelby Ford says this is acceptable paint and refuses to do anything about it. minor flaws in stripes which I would keep as is they will fix. Go figure. These DA marks in paint show up with a cheap video camera. see my other post
  16. Something else I am curious about is: If there are all these big layoffs why is fomoco hiring outside help. I just heard there is at least one new hire in the paint dept at AAI. Could newbies to the dept becausing painting issues? How many new outside help people have they been hiring? Heard its for over 40hrs per week and full time temp people. Is this how they do it?
  17. on this particular car it seems either something happened on pass side and was repaired or the person either :was not taught properly that a finer grit paper should be used as final or this person simply did not car what it looked like. When they do quality checks are they inside or outside? Sunlight they are pretty hard to see but under good lighting stick out like a sore thumb. I would be curious to find more of how things are done in the paint dept and what the quality people actually look for and how close they look. Especially when a flaw is found how they go about fixing it. On this car there is also a shallow dent in roof on drivers side at edge and the front fender to door fit is not so good on drivers side. These are kind of nit-picky items but never the less still there. THe DA marks in paint are my biggest issue. Seems like lower portions of doors are "very" orange peel looking. Would like to also find out what brand materials are used when they color sand a car. This entire car should be color sanded and buffed to make it look like my first Shelby did. (Black Shelby)
  18. fishinguy, thanks for your response. It was one of the Ford promises again but now nothing. FoMoCo has made me a lot of promises but seems they have a hard time following through. In the mean time I will post a few more pics. Its pretty hard to get them to turn out. Naked eye they can be seen from 4-5' away but when I try to take pics the only parts that show are in area of the above flourecent lighting reflection. I can get them to show up with the video camera though. . How do I make any contact as you described above?
  19. Thats a better way of putting it. Is the Taurus name worthy of the 500 in pretty much all ways.
  20. here are a few pics of my Shelby which I feel is nothing short of shoddy workmanship. The people doing this are either blind in one eye & cannot see out of other or just do not care. If its the first day on job and they are clueless as management has not taught them I understand and feel for them. If its because ford has driven down the moral and knowone gives a rip then shame on ford again. This is not to mention the many many ripples along bottom of doors, poor panel fit other body imperfections including a shallow grave in roof etc. I could live with most and not be happy about them but the major DA marks in roof and in many parts of right side including 1/4, door and fender is a bit much. Every Shelby I have seen has fitment issues with door bottom to fender bottom. They are simply not flush as they should be. Slop work at best here.
  21. Just curious as to the year and month of build on your Mazda? and yes they come down same line as far as I know. Only think with all the layoffs and buy outs the quality is going to get worse instead of better too. Paint is not something Ford should take lightly as one of the most if not the most expensive items on car to repair properly. Our cars are not the first nor will they be the last with paint issues. They know they are having problems but do not know how or care to fix it. Any pics of your paint peeling? would like to see them. also how many miles on your car? my shelby has only 30 miles total & sits in heated garage.
