  1. Huh?

A hundred pounds ain't chump change.

but its a good design and 100lbs is not that bad considering if they could adapt it to the Mustangs chassis then a GT would weigh around 3650lbs.....not bad

  2. who watched it?

    i did...

the engineer said something about a supercharger option to 400 and 500 horses

also hinted at something big a NAIAS, i hope it isn't just the GT500

oh and they sort of teased Jellymoulds lol......

  3. Good point. I was automatically thinking of the SRT. The price difference would line up with the R/T better.

I've heard alot of different acceleration times for the SRT. The early magazines got low 13s out of them, and I haven't seen anything close to that since. I've read high 13s, and seen one run a 13.8 all night long at the track. Now, granted, that wasn't a professional driver, but come on. It's an automatic!

Did Dodge hand out some "special" cars to the magazines, or what?

im pretty sure the manuals are faster than the autos

  4. Well, since CI is no longer being used to denote displacement, IMO it makes sense not to use it. Perhaps the name should either be just plain "Boss" or possibly "Boss 5.0".

i like it when they make models with the engines ci in it....but Boss 5.0 sounds pretty good

  5. Boss 305?!?!?! Ughhh!

Wow, maybe you've been drivin' that GM too long! :hysterical: You have to know what a hated and pissed upon number 305 is!

    Never!

    oh boo hoo....

    get over it

both companies have used 427 but you don't see people crying over it

i love that now i drive a GM im turning into some troll or whack job....c'mon, please....

  6. I thought the new 5.0L would be displacing more than 302. After all, the pushrod 302 was actually 4.9L.

    well make a Boss 305

    sounds just as good

and maybe it will get some more sales in Miami if any of you know what i mean....

im hoping Ford has something up their selves for tonight

  7. We all have short memories....the Bullitt engine is rated at 315hp on 87 octane...with higher ratings on super unleaded...lets wait until the Mustang mags get it on the dyno...or is it that time of the month to bitch?

yeah we do have short memories....hows this happens all the time

i don't even know why i'm pissed, im not going to be taking it seriously unless it gets some more power

i was expecting this to happen just like with the F-150....lets just hope they don't cancel this 5.0

i guess you just have to like every single move Ford makes on this site :finger:

  8. You know for certain they could have done better? Maybe you should apply for a job with Ford's powertrain group. You obviously have a better grasp of how to get their engines to do what they are supposed to do than they do.

yeah but im sure you know Ford is not really hiring right now

    but thanks

  9. Exterior is kinda ehhhh. Not bad for a refresh I guess, but I was hoping for more. The interior looks far better!! As others have said, I'm disappointed in the powertrains. Yes, I knew they weren't coming this year, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow.

i just don't understand why they did just 15hp and a measly 5 ft-lb of torque....they could have done better and given the 4.6L the respect it deserves on its last year of production in a Mustang if it is.

  10. Hot Dayum:

    02_xx2010mustanglive.jpg

When this car gets the 5L next year it will have chunks of chally and camaro in it's stool.

Well, he is one of the 5 people in the US to actually buy a G8.

yup.....i shut up and put up....

i really loved what they were bringing and jumped ship i guess to get affordable 4 door RWD tire shredding performance that can also handle very well for its size

Ford would have sold the Falcon here....my driveway would look different

P.S. that pic does look sic

  11. The SRT8 is barely faster.

I really wouldn't be so quick to judge the measly hp gains, until GM releases the Camaro for sale. If the Challenger is any indicator, it's probably going to be a piggly-son-of-a *****.

    Anyhow, I'd drive one.

the LX and Zeta platform only have weight in common....

one feels like a pig, and the other feels much lighter

  12. Well that's just asinine. This new mustang is more rigid and has revised suspension bits as well. You're starting to sound like a troll :finger:

so i guess im a troll now that im pissed that one of my most favorite cars is going to get whopped by a god damn Camaro for the what time?

its time for the Mustang to step up and dig the hole for the Camaro again....i could careless what exterior crap they did....the 05 was fine

they could have gotten 330hp, i would have accepted that

  13. how do you know it will handle better?

i drive on the same platform that weighs more and has the FE2 suspension compared to the FE3 the Camaro SS

my car handles better than a current Mustang GT in stock form....im confident the Camaro SS will handle better than the new GT

BTW the Camaro is a 2010...

  14. I have to agree with you guys about the gray grille insert. It really kills an overall very attractive looking Mustang. But hey if enough people complain, perhaps they'll go back and make some changes to it before Job 1 like they did with the Focus. We can hope right?

yeah like making it more powerful

i can't believe how little they did :banghead:

i hope they have some surprise tomorrow night
