Every 6 months,we are going to be coming out with different model and, styles. Been in this area of plants for 17 years and, should be good till retirement now.drool.gif

Looks like you will be in constant launch. MAP will be a house of jobs for years to come. AAI is lucky to be included in these investments

  2. The system is setup and agreed upon by the very union itself that claim they are out to protect our jobs, yet ask local 600 why there are currently 96 people out on disciplined or discharged from the plant due to attendance.. You get 99 weeks of unemployment now that the company has to pay for, so if they want to fire you for their crazy stupid attendance policies let them and collect unemployment. The Union has to bring you back, only if you're not black don't count on coming back first.

The current policy is also protected under no local agreement either so go figure that, 8 years later and 600 doesn't have an agreement with Dearborn because of the under the table deals they do. Union also has no communication skills or leadership skills. Too many of them are out pulling in the cash while not working or lifting a finger, and there is no accountability yet the same people keep getting elected in at local 600.

    The fix is in.

Our attendance procedure is the first few pages of volume 4 of the International Agreement. It would take a weeks of unjustified time off to get terminated. Use of justified time off including FMLA could get us off the job for months.

How in the hell can someone get terminated with all of these opportunities to excuse time off???

  3. Not according to The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Car and Driver, the UAW and our engineers. We are scheduled to build anywhere from 125k to 150k Fusions yearly. At peak times we will build more Fusions than the Mexican plant, which has less capacity than AAI and needs major retooling. They will build the new Fusion and launch it first, so they will build most of the 2013 models, but the next year it will be around 50/50. They will be building more Lincoln MKZ's than last year and less Fusions. Ford expects Fusion sales going over 300,000 next year,(2011 sales were 248,000) with employee A plan purchases tripling now that workers can purchase an American made product. Jimmy Settles (Int. VP) said a 550 million dollar investment at AAI and a second shift added does NOT mean just overflow. We still have the capacity for a third car, we made over 270,000 cars on 2 shifts in 2005. Ford wants a third shift added by 2014, with capacity over 300,000. If we build 140,000 Fusions a year & 80,000 Mustangs and get a third product, who cares if Mexico builds 160,000 Fusions?

Like I said, we will be flooded with well negotiated products and on 3 shifts in 2013. Thanks to the UAW AAI has been saved. Last year we were uncertain of our futures, soon we will be a plant full of job security.

  4. Driving thru the plant yesterday and, checking out the new CMax, very nice vehicle. Everything is in the right place in the inside. Will make a great family hauler or, Just if you want more room.shades.gif

How many different models has the UAW negotiated to go into MAP? We are jealous at AAI but we are excited to get product and job security like MAP

  5. By 2013 we will be on 3 shifts and our coveted job security will be back at AAI. No more worries of closing. Thanks to the UAW we will be back as the #1 quality and efficient assembly plant in the world!!

Economists are projecting that the 2011 agreement will bring Ford up to 50,000 UAW members and boost the USA economy from its bargaining to return jobs back in America.

If you have a chance to transfer to AAI and you are looking for job security come on over. The premier plant of the UAW!!!!

  6. Is this a joke? They would not have needed a raise if their starting wage wasn't cut in half in the 07' agreement. I guess all is right as long as we only recognize the half of the truth that we wanna remember. Ask the low tier how they feel about the difference in Compensation. while the low man works for half as much as you, and have no job bid preference, and are working the worst jobs in the plant. I am sure they're opinion differs from yours.

Yeah, yeah, I know. They should be happy to have a job.

Since AAI got the Fusion investment and announcement of jobs here and MAP, Kentucky and Chicago I have friends and family I have not heard from for years calling about how to apply with Ford for getting these entry level jobs. Over $19 per hour, benefits and a pretty good 401k plan is a God send to anyone unemployed. Most never have made $19 per hour in their life are jumping at this opportunity.

Say what you want about the $19 per hour wage, good benefits and a 401K. The fact is tens of thousands will line up for the opportunity

  7. I am amazed at how rare our paid holidays are compared to the rest of America. All I have heard from friends and relatives who don't work at Ford is how little paid time off they get. Most don't get very much paid vacation. Wow, thanks again UAW for another great aspect of our contract.

First of all I am thankful for the UAW saving AAI

Second this Christmas was not good at the In-Laws house. The In-laws (staunch Republicans) blamed my $28 per hour, great benefits and all of my negotiated days off as the demise of the D3. Obviously I had to defend our great wages, benefits and pension with facts of labor rates and sacrifices we made to gain product and investment at AAI and job security gained for all UAW-Ford.

Even in my own family there are haters of our well negotiated contract.

Jealousy or just a Republican ploy to kill the middle class???

  8. Face Book results

    Kansas City Assembly Plant

    Yes-2071 (88%)

    No-291 (12%)

AAI as well as every other location like AAI (desperate for product commitments) thank KCAP for the unselfish act of helping less fortunate plants like AAI with securing our futures with investment, jobs and security.

This yes vote of nearly 90% in favor shows solidarity and brotherhood still exist among our union,

Even though KCAP has already announced product investments of over a half of a billion dollars, KCAP showed brotherhood for the less fortunate plants like AAI, OHAP and helped the future of many UAW families

Thank You KCAP from AAI and many other benefactors named for product commitments in this 2011 agreement

    Thank You

  9. Most of us live week to week and cant live on $200 per week especially if it is a 4 month strike. Solidarity will break down and we will settle for less than what we are voting on right now. The company is probably hoping for a strike to wipe away the 150 day supply on the dealer lots, starve us out, gain public support against us and return with no signing bonus, inflation protection or quality bonus. This scenario is playing right into the companies hands

Regions are getting the UAW ON STRIKE signs printed as we speak !!!

The locals will be directed to get the signs and be prepared for implementation plans

  10. We are following the same path as American Axle Manufacturing,,,, vote no on tentative,,,,, go on strike,,,,, settle for less than the current tentative,,,, lose job.

Pretty scary considering this is a damned good agreement

Yes, a mirror image of what happened in 2008 at American Axle, if this agreement goes down we will be worse off and the company will come out ahead

We will lose product and wages as well as jobs

  11. Thanks Jeff

The plants voting this agreement down are putting us all in a irreversible vortex that will ultimately end up in a strike. The negotiating team got a good fair agreement especially the "have not" plants. I dont see them getting a better agreement unless they strike.

Truth is that the company more than likely will enjoy the strike as a way of forcing less than the current agreement we have

Winter is coming and so is a long cold strike

Solidarity is broken, the plants that need the job security will lose the most and we will end up settling for less not to mention the measly $200 per week strike pay

Its clear that the plants that got the windfall of investments in 2007 are turning this agreement down. No solidarity from these selfish tea-party types

  12. I spoke with someone at Michigan Works! the unemployment agency in our state. If we vote this down and go on strike, we are voluntarily giving up work and were not forced out of work. So, we WONT get UNEMPLOYMENT or FOOD STAMPS. None period. For those of you who have this strange idea about "pride." I see the "pride" of unemployed homeless people in Detroit everyday. They pick through garbage cans for food daily. If we vote this down, they will have a lot of competition.

This will put a strain on the food banks and soup kitchens with 40,000 UAW workers on strike

  13. Between Production and Skilled we will lose on average $1000 each week in pay while on strike. Add onto this OT at some plants and we will be losing a lot more. There is no way, we will regain our lost wages. We may end up losing our houses, won't be able to pay our bills and may have our cars repoed. Ah, the no voters, driving us into bankruptcy and destroying our futures.

American Axle lost $1,000 per week over 6 months then lost their job when AAM sent the work to Mexico

We seem to be on the same path thanks to the selfish no voters

  14. A friend of mine who works at WHQ just called me because he overhead management talking about replacement worker training will start next week due to the no vote. They will not stop production and will not take chances. Everyone seems to forget that Mulally fired over 40,000 union members when he took over Boeing.

I think your story is a lie but Im sure they do have a plan as to when they will bring in scabs for a long strike

  15. You cant argue this in not over wages. The company can prove it just through this forum everyone wants a $15,000 signing bonus and everything else to get us back up to $70 per hour.

If we strike will will be locked out and replaced by scabs.

Once a no vote is cast and we go on strike all control of our futures is at risk.

  16. American Axle History repeats itself At Ford

This No Vote Push Is Eerily Familiar To the Job Losses at AAM

This UAW Ford agreement is taking the same death spiral to a no vote as American Axle. The UAW bargained investments in the UAW represented AAM facilities as well as bonuses and no fixed costs

The AAM membership turned it down and American Axle Management decided that it wasn't worth the battle of the membership once voted down to invest billions in the UAW plants and turned to a contingency plan of sending most of the investment to Mexico

History is repeating itself again at Ford.

If voting “no” there is the possibility of losing many, many jobs including in zone bumping

    No one is safe

Before anyone votes no expect a negative outcome in the form of plant closings (moving investments to Mexico and Canada)

    Or

A lengthy strike at $200 per week and a settlement for less than what was struck in the first place

Ford Motor Company is drooling of a strike for history will repeat itself

They are ready to put us out for a long time

    Voter beware

We are heading into the danger zone

No control of our futures if this contract is voted down, Settles called out for a strike and he will strike
