Not really an early model year, it's about the same start as the 2020 model year. 2020 turned out to be a long (extended) year for Aviator due to the launch problems and then covid... so it made 2021 a short year.

DO IT!!!!!... we absolutely love ours and have had zero issues with it since taking delivery a year ago, and our retail order was the first GT my dealer recieved! Since then they have been ordering/selling as many GTs as they can get and the GM always tries to keep several in stock. However, I do agree that Lincoln could do a much better job of taking care of those who have had issues.

The Mach-E is just the beginning and Tesla's days of 80% plus market share are probably over now. The EV pie will get exponentially bigger as all manufacturers begin transitioning away from ICEs. So that big market share pie will get sliced up into many more pieces until at some point the biggest (dominant) piece may be something like 16%... which will most likely still belong to Tesla.

In a note March 2, Morgan Stanley analysts said the Ford Mustang Mach-E stole EV share from Tesla last month. "While U.S. EV sales rose 34% in February, Tesla's share fell to 69% from 81% the prior year, they wrote. "The Ford Mustang Mach-E accounted for nearly 100% of the share loss," they added.

They are probably trying to get back on the original production schedule. The original Job #1 date for the 2020 MY was 05/2019. But due to the botched launch and Covid the 2020 MY was extended, making 2021 a short year. If that's the case, the 2022 Order Guide should be out later this month after the Order Banks open.

They can handle extreme cold... but not ice:
Ice causes several problems. A typical wind turbine blade is longer than the wing of a 747 and is shaped for maximum efficiency. Ice build up changes the shape and reduces efficiency. It also adds a lot of excess weight, plus if the build-up isn't uniform it can cause balance problems.

As of last June, Ford was in fifth place (out of 19 manufacturers) just behind Toyota in total EV/PHEV sales. With the Aviator, Corsair and Escape PHEVs and Mach-E ramping up, Ford's remaining tax credit elegibility will be shrinking fast.

Our neighbors decided to go full in on Tesla EVs and puchased a Model X and Model 3. They loved them at first, except for trying to keep both charged with one home charging station. But that love affair ended quickly after their first long road trip in the X. They carefully planned the trip and charging points through Tesla, but the extra non-productive time added in both directions was a deal breaker. Within a couple months after that trip they traded the Model X for a Jeep Wrangler and the Model 3 for a Camry Hybrid. They say they'll never consider a pure EV again until they can fill up anywhere in 5 minutes. Likewise, we love everything about our Aviator GT except for keeping it charged.... but it's a keeper because the full performance Ecoboost eliminates the need for charging it on a long trip. But if they can solve the charging times/locations problem... ICEs will be headed toward the history books.

If you're comparing prices with the Grand Touring, you will also get a $6,534 tax credit on the GT models when you file your taxes next year... so you need to factor that into the total purchase price.

Both temps are set at 65 in this photo... the numbers are partially blocked at this angle taken from the back seat. They do look nice and are convenient and shouldn't have been deleted. Some other decontenting for '21... adaptive steering is no longer available on any trim level and the soft close doors were made exclusive to Black Label trims only.

The phase out of internal combustion engines is already happening much quicker than most of us realize in many regions around the world (plus California), and Uncle Joe will have us quickly joining them for sure...

My daughter's 2020 Titanium does show a speed sign but it's based on navigation/location not from actually reading signs, so it doesn't work everywhere. Speed sign recognition is new for 2021 according to the order guide and according to this thread at fordescape.org the 2020 has the required hardware and it can be be activated via Forscan:

Since Blue Diamond is no longer available, go with Red Carpet paint and the Ebony/Medium Slate interior that includes the aluminum trim... your welcome!! Red Carpet is the same awesome color as Fords Rapid Red. Medium Slate was new with Aviator so it's a different shade of gray than the previous Slate... it's a rich looking gray that really goes well with the gloss black and aluminum trim.

^^^Both our Aviator and daughters Escape have Fords new pull twice method to open the hood. The first pull pops the hood and the second releases the safety latch. IMO it's a big improvement over the ancient pull once then find the safety latch under the hood method...

Actually, while Aviator shares the base chasis with Explorer nearly everything else is unique. They don't share body panels and the interiors are completely different. The Aviator has more sophisticated suspension components, with a SLA front suspension while the Explorer has struts. They also had different design teams with each doing their own thing independent of the other... so the Aviator isn't a rebadged Explorer with makeup like in the past. My dash panel around the HUD fits well with the adjacent trim pieces. My engine covers are all snug and use the typical expanding push pin type trim fasteners... sounds like they changed them to grommets for '21.

Correct, the shaker was optional on the original and it should be optional now. They could have done more than raiding varius part bins and adding a cue ball. Some of us care far more about style and heritage than all out performance... at car cruises the shaker always draws massive attention. The difference for those like me, who have been waiting 18 long years for an updated Mach 1, is must have versus not interested... and disappointment. If I traded my '03 for a '21 I would be Scoopless instead of CoolScoop, LOL.. both on forums and at car cruises. But on the bright side I can start saving for a must have Bronco now instead!

My 2020 GT doesn't have any rattles, plus fit and finish is fine on mine. What kind of fit and finish issues do you have on your 2021?

I used to get bad water spotting all over our cars due to the towns hard water. To minimize it I had to wash them in the evening shade, keep them wet until finished, then dry them quickly with several towels. Since purchasing this system I wash them way more often because I no longer have to dry them... just wash and rinse, with no water spots! Its pricey, but its been worth every penny for what it saves in time and aggravation.
Also, the special coating for the HUD isn't on the outside of the windshield.
