  1. For an update, I found the factory installed antenna behind the rear seat passenger bolster and used an extension cable to connect it to my Stiletto car kit. Hid the wire under the plastic trim by the doors and ran it up through the dash to the radio mounted on the center of the dash above the radio. Works great.
  2. I removed the center console, from our Freestyle, last summer for vacation, all you have to do is remove 4 screws. The bad part is that the carpet is cut out for attachment and the two rear screws are attached to brackets that project out of the carpeting. I think that these are welded to the body, and can't be removed. I layed a towel over the brackets and we set a powered refrigerated console in it's place, hence why we removed it. Afterwards a simply screwed it back into place. Don't know if that helps, but if your don't want it, I would not get one with it. I just ordered a new Taurus X to replace our Freestyle. I ordered it with the split 2nd row seat instead of the captains chairs, this way we can put all three of our kids in the second row and have the rear seats folded down for more space
  3. I was going to, but just don't see why I should pay for another radio, when I already own a portable radio that does so much more. So I figured I could just get another vehicle kit and connect to the vehicle antenna instead of using the magnet antenna that comes with the car kit.
  4. My '07 Fusion has Sirius satellite radio, but I also own a Sirius Stiletto 100 which I keep in our Freestyle. Now that my 6 months of free service has ended, I am going to get another vehicle kit for the Stiletto and I am wondering if it is possible to connect to the builit in antenna on roof. I found out that the satellite radio is under the rear seat and I wonder that if I get a satellite antenna extension cable if it will connect to the built in antenna cable. Thanks
  5. So, I just got my new 07 Fusion SE w/ the I4 Appearance Package and aside from adding polished stainless steel tail pipe covers, I thought that painting the disk brake calipers red, to pick up on the red accents in the seating and door panel fabic and the red stitching on the leather on the seats and steering wheel would add a personal & sporty touch to the car. My quesiton is, does anyone know of any issues in painting the calipers? They appear to be galvanized so there would have to be special prepping done to make sure that the paint would adhere, but would it void any warranties or could it cause any problems such as retaining additional heat in the calipers?
  6. I take it there is a way to change the battery? Can I go to a Ford Accessory web site to check to see if it is still offered?
  7. I see that the 2008 Fusion SEL has the keyless entry pad. Is Ford going to offer a dealer or self installed pad for the 2007 or 2006 Fusions?
