I never said it was Toyota technology, just a Toyota part...which she said the truck had none of.. I am done. You remind me of sheep, following everything they hear.. Do you see where it says no Toyota technology or parts in it? I am not arguing that the Aisin unit was a bad choice.. It is a Toyota part in the FEH, she said there were no Toyota parts in the FEH.. It is that simple.. she lied... I could care less WHY they did it... just don't LIE to the public about it!

PROGRESS! If you read back in my post(s), all I ever claimed was that the unit was made by AISIN (Toyota) so the truck couldn't be exclusively Ford. Can we agree that due to the fact that Wright was quoted saying that the FEH has NO Toyota technology OR PARTS in it, she in fact lied (because we just agreed that it had a Toyota PART in it?

Austin, Two people in this thread did say it was Ford's exclusive design. That is why I posted the window sticker. So how can you switch it around to say that no one ever said it was Ford's exclusive design? please clarify that. Michael, I did provide the proof that she said the FEH has NO TOYOTA parts in it. I gave a link that QUOTES her! Doesn't that make her a liar for telling a straight lie? again, you can keep defending Ford, if that makes you feel better. The statement that you confirmed by typing " yes, it always was" People here are pretty clouded with pride and appear to believe whatever crap is fed to them about who's cvt it really is. If it makes you feel better to think that Ford designed something and then had AISIN build it for them, so be it..but what a bunch of garbage you have been fed. Many here cloud the Japanese parts issue for some reason with statements like Ford's Exclusive Design engineer Mary Ann Wright said "There is NO Toyota technology or parts in our vehicle". I'm all for dropping it! I'm just not for giving Ford ALL the credit, nor Toyota ALL the credit... It's the best SUV we've ever owned, and I have an 09 on order, but I don't pretend it's something that it's not..

This isn't about the patents, it's about those that think there is NO Toyota in their Escape hybrids,,, Does that make me proud? NO, is it a fact that the FEH has Toyota parts hence technology? YES

Don't put words in my mouth (post).... I never said that the CVT makes the hybrid, nor that Ford didn't have a play in the design. How did we get from a discussion about the CVT to the whole truck and what makes a hybrid? You may read things that are incorrect and irritate you... Two incorrect things I read ALL the time are: The Escape Hybrid is all Ford (wrong) The Escape Hybrid has no Toyota technology in it (wrong) THAT was the purpose of my posts.... Nice recovery attempts however.. A little bit on the attack side tho.. I AM a supporter of our country and I do buy American made products for a reason, but like you I'm sure, I do give credit where it is due and I detest when others post information that they have not researched to any degree...(like there is no Toyota technology in the Escape Hybrid)... 08FEH

Please look at the part content placard placed on my 08FEH by FORD... It clearly says the transmission is BOUGHT from JAPAN... What part of that is confusing?? You can qoute all you want, call it designed by whoever you want... They buy the CVT from AISIN a TOYOTA company.... what part of that is confusing??? The CVT is SOLD to FORD by AISIN...JAPANESE COMPANY OWNED IN PART BY TOYOTA CONFIRMED by FORD on their OWN DISCLOSURE TAG, which is affixed to EVERY VEHICLE THEY SELL... End of debate...
