Ford engineers said replace airbag control module, and that made the light go off. I have another 2000 mile trip coming up, so we'll see if all the bugs are worked out.

Well I got my Navigator back from dealer. As i mentioned previously, they had to change out the air conditioner control module in the dash. And wouldnt you know, they also chipped the real wood dash insert - what a present I had to discover. Now they have to replace all the wood (as I understand it, the wood is book matched, so a piece of it cannot be replaced. It all has to be replaced.) So far, service manager said no problem and is ordering the wood. As far as the airbag light, ford engineers told the dealer to replace the airbag control module, which they did, and that fixed the problem. No more airbag light on. I sure hope this is the end of the "working out the bugs" for my new navi with only 3,000 miles on it. I have another 2000 mile trip coming up, so we'll see. All the best.

I have 07 Navigator that had same problem after only 300 miles. Fan went to low speed on its own and would not change. After engine restart it returned to normal. Then on 2000 mile trip, it went to high speed on its own, and again, after engine restart, returned to normal. Dealership replaced the entire air conditioner control module. Have not gotten truck back from dealer yet, because they cant resolve my airbag light problem (light wont go off and they dont know why, but wont let me drive it home for liability reasons). So now I am driving a tan old-fart town car.

Just took delivery of new '07 Navigator. After 600 miles, airbag light came on. Would not go off after repeated stops and starts over 2000 mile trip. Took into dealership last week. Codes revealed steering column spring needed replacement. After replacing, light still would not go off. Dealer could not resolve so now in "consultation" with Ford engineers, and car has been at dealer for a week now. Anybody had this problem or know of resolution? Many thanks. BTW, also had a problem with air conditioner after 500 miles. Fan speed became erratic. Dealer replaced entire air conditioner control module.
