  1. Some of you are again confusing Salaried with Management. Believe me Salaried employees have taken the hit along with (if not before) UAW folks. Our medical benefits have been dwindling for years, and our copays have gone up every year. There were meager raises a year ago and none this year. Alan doesn't hang out in our cubes.
  2. Hey! I resemble that remark. Salaried doesn't equal management.
  3. This article is taking the quote somewhat out of context. Mullaly said he didn't want to comment on anything until the UAW members got a chance to vote. He didn't seem to be dodging the question. Gregg
  4. True. And as the original referenced article stated. The domestics are feeding on each other's market share. They're not cutting into the import share at all. Gregg
  5. Thanks Shock, that sound pretty logical to me. Regardless of the details of the deals, I've got the feeling Hank the Deuce is doing about 5000rpm in his grave about now. Gregg
  6. I'm not too sure that would be the case, furious. When estimating wealth of the Ford family members I think alot of it is based on their ownership of the Class B stock. If Ford were to go into default and liquidate wouldn't their stock be worth only pennies on the dollar? I'm sure they wouldn't starve, but I'm also not sure they could come up with that kind of scratch. Gregg
  7. That's a good question. I doubt that it's mortgaged to the Ford family though. Even with their hundreds of millions, there's no way they could finance the 20-some billion that FoMoCo got. It would have to be some strip-n-flip conglomorate. Gregg
  8. Don't remember for sure, but I think X plan is invoice+3%. Make sure you see the invoice. If you have a trade in, don't mention X plan until you get the trade in deal out of the way. I'll check on Mon. to make sure the +3% is correct.
  9. Hi, I've been lurking for a while and have decided to jump in. I'm not union, but a white collar grunt (no were not all mgt). Anyways The Truth About Cars has an editorial that's worth a read. I specifically agree with the part about the oh-so-soon cuts at Cerberus being specifically designed to stick the shiv in the cross-town rivals. While I disagree with alot of the stuff Ford management does (and forces us to do), I think the management at Cerberus is flat evil. The article lives here: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/?p=6146 Gregg
