P.I. Had it right. Found a leaky boot just off the back of the engine manifold - just under the dash. Once I had the Manifold cover off - you could hear the leak. Vac leak fixed and it is running fine. Thanks for the help.

Hey Guys thanks for the comment. We did test two other trucks. Same noise. Not as loud. Service manager said tjat they could replace it - though could not guarantee that it would not make more noise as he has seen that happen too. Thought it is odd all the way around.........

My wife's Explorer has a loud humming sound - most noticiable from the passenger side. Dealer said that it was the fan blower located just under the glove box and that the sound was normal. Drives me nuts. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the noise or at least dampen it? Thanks

Recently the SES light on the dash came on. Truck started running rough & stalling when in idle. WOuld run around 1200-1400 RPM then drop to 400-600 RMP. Does not seem to be missing while driving - but will run rough and stall when at a stop. Vehicle shows two codes P0171 & P0174 - Bank 1 and 2 lean. Seems like there may be something else causing the problem....ran injector cleaner, where else should I look. Fuel filter - I could probably change that myself. MAF sensor going bad? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
