  1. Ellu369 believe it or not although we are on the same chapter, we are just on different pages. I too believe that Team Eskridge will bring a contract to the membership that we will both support and vote in. I am just saying that this time maybe all of our bitchin will not fall on deaf ears. I think that this time we might have a group of people in office that will go back to the drawing board and agree on something that the membership will like. No I am not Fusionpower but I agree with some of his/her post's. As for me being long winded, well, sometimes I get that way. I can't help it it just happens. You have to admitt though I can rant with the best of them LOL.
  2. In a sense you are right as they are pretty much the same thing. Just different names. I am pretty sure they both think of things to tell the Supervisor why the line is down. The Team Leader does not schedule us for days off that falls on the Management side of things. It is just that we have always voted our Team Leader in place. Now as for Union decideing who to give the Team Leader pay to, well the pay was setup by the Union itself with the Company agreeing to pay whomever we decide who will be the Team Leader. The money is really not enough for all the crap that goes on whithin some teams. Yes, regardless of what each Team Leader job intails some who get elected do get the Ego Trip.
  3. Any and all plants and classifications that are about to have a lay-off or are scheduled to close.
  4. Looks like Ellu can't think of any new words to post on all the threads. Maybe it has something to do with their limited vocabulary. Then again maybe this person likes sounding like a broken record. Scott is the best yada yada yada, Scott is God yada yada yada. Look let Team Eskridge give us a contract we like and it will pass with no problem. That is the bottom line.
  5. I am not saying Scott dosen't listen to the people, I am just saying now is the time to make sure you listen. So if you are right then we are both on the same page with this issue, just say it differently. No I was not misinformed as to Scott not taking to the people, I am saying if he was on the floor then he missed my area completly. Nor do I have any ulterior motives. Now, for the future reference just quit kissing his ass he is not God you know. He will make mistakes and he will get things right. It is just up to the membership to remind him when he makes a mistake. If you can't handle that then tuff shit.
  6. Fusion, even if they were able to make all those appointted positions a bid job, they would like to have them Grandfathered in. So in a sense, it would be useless to even consider it. I do like your thought though. Make them a plant wide bid job. with no Grandfathering in. Now Team Eskridge needs to do what the people want and not listen to company whineing. Team Leaders should be elected even if the current system has flaws it is still better than makeing them a bid job. I know of people who took the Team Leader job and couldn't wait til the next election to get out, if it is a bid job then they could possibly be screwed.
  7. Thanks for the confidence Gunnut, I was really talking about awols instead of the front end for days off. You are right in a sense that if a Supervisor really wants to write you up no one will change his mind. I as a former Team Leader have successfully gotten people covered after they awoled. But not on certain days and not if there were not enough extra people in the plant. I neveree successfully gotten a potenial R&W stopped befrehand but was able to get it off their record in as little as three hours after the fact. When I got there to vote it was like a ghost town, I didn't see any one there that I knew who was a Team Leader. Team Eskridge the people have spoken, Please listen and go back to the drawing board and get this Team Leader bid job thing removed or it might hurt you in the May election.
  8. I have waited until now to give my two cents worth on this subject. Some of you might even say " Keep your two cents to yourself ". But here goes anyways. I do not think this would benefit the Union as was suggested by the creator of this post, but I do think this would benefit the Company. Like a lot of you I think for the most part the local contract looks good except for the part of the Team Leader. I do see the benefits both for and against Team Leaders being a bid job. I also like the Idea of creating more bid jobs but not at the expense of each and every team. Some of the stuff I read in here just totally amazes me. Things like " the team will vote you out if they are mad at you " and " If you do the job right you will get voted out ". People listen anyone that is a Team Leader will not make everyone happy. Whether they do the job right or not. I have seen Team Leaders disapper for up to two hours at a time. I have seen Team Leaders suck so much ass I thought they would burp farts. As for a Team Leader getting your day covered if you awol that can be nearly impossible at times more so when it is a day like Oaks Day or Halloween. This crap about the Team Leader haveing the almighty power to stop a R&W, get real. Only the Committeeperson can really have a chance to stop the Supervisor from writing you up. I mean the Team Leader can put their two cents in but it could fall on deaf ears. Now most of you in here know as well as I do that only about 5% of the workforce reads this forum, so most of this is just in vain to begin with. Hell most people I talked with this week said they will vote no IF THEY DO VOTE. Most said they are not willing to drive into the Union hall to vote on a Sunday when they have made plans for this next week since we are going to be off. Which brings up the question as to why we have to vote on it this Sunday to begin with. They had since last September to get this finished so why do we need to vote on it in one day with about 5 hours to vote? I myself intend to vote no. Not because I want to be in the majority who disagree with it but because I feel it is wrong not only on the Team Leader deal but the rush to get it passed as well.
  9. Hey that $3,000.00 would make a nice down payment on some ocean front property in Arizona. NOT.
  10. KTPgal89 you are right, none available at KTP. Possible bringing home people who went to LAP when they get laid-off. Gas and Diesel still going up not too sure if we wont get hit with a lay-off after shutdown. I would save my money if I was you. No inside news just trying to realize the times we live in.
  11. Here is one for all of you. 1967- The country is at war that we can never win. Military personel are dying everyday. The Government is spending moneu like crazy on a war that is not popular with most at home. We are one year away from a new Election and the American people are demanding change. Drug use is widespread among all people regardless of creed, color or religion. Gas prices are starting to get out of hand. The cost of living is going up but not our pay. 2007- The more things change the more they stay the same.
  12. Paris, call it what you will. Comic relief or just plain ole funny. I can see some of your grammer errors but then again I make them myself. I as you, did not attend any school in Michiagan. Does that mean I am better than those people who did, I think not. There are far better people who went to school in Michigan than I. Then again there are people who far from myself as well. As for cathcing Quality issues b4 they leave my plant I have you know that in my area there is ten people. We ten catch more defects than all of the Inspector's in our plant. Most of our defect's that do get out are the result of inferior vendors. We only build what they send us just like every other plant in the system.
  13. I am not sure about your theories there but I think Edwards was really the best choice we could have gotten.
  14. Yes that would be a likely scenario, I tend to think that a national strike or the threat of such a strike would open the eyes of all those people in Washington D.C. It also brings the rest of the country closer to seeing how bad it has really gotten since that monkey looking dumbass took office. I am talking about Ole Dubya by-the-way.
  15. Maybe someone on here can help me out. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE OR NOT. I heard this about two weeks ago, if true then there might be some people on here for a shock. Read what I already wrote above again and this time do it slowly. Now read what I wrote below slowly and reread it again slowly. I heard from some people who came from ATL to our plant and they told me that since they worked at a parts plant and not at an assembly plant that they came in with day one senority. They got to keep their FORD senority but are low on the Senority board. Like I said read what I wrote slowly and reread it slowly again. This is what the people from ATL has told me. The Senority board at work reflects this as well. I do not know if they hired in after Ford got rid of it the first time or not. Just check with your local unions and be well informed before you sign up. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE JUST CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL TO MAKE SURE YOU WILL BRING YOUR SENORITY WITH YOU. It is better to know the whole story before you make your choice. I do hope I am wrong on this. I just don't know anymore. The changes we all are seeing change from day to day. Good luck all.
  16. Good point and it is well taken. I am just saying in my plant as of now we are fat. The 302 people who has signed up for the buy-out might not be enough to produce any openings, unless it is within the skilled trades area. Your right though if there is opening's and then there are lay-off's then the low senority people do go. True they get to keep their senority, as long as it does not go past 10/28/1984. Any senority past that date will be counted towards Ford time not plant time. Should you be hired after this date you will keep all your time. As for the new plant becomeing their home plant, unless their home plant is shutting down they do have two options. 1. Take the basic moveing allowance and you have the right to RTBU. 2. Take the advanced allowance and you give up your right to RTBU. Should your plant be closeing down then you have no RTBU because you will have no basic unit to return too.
  17. Possible yes, practical no. You seem to forget that as of now most plants do not need people. Most plants if not all are about to have some sort of lay-off. Loseing shifts and people in the process. I believe that it is written in the contract that people are not allowed to move to a plant while they have people on lay-off. Now after the 48 week period I am not sure how it will work but the first 48 weeks people on lay-off has the right to come back first. As for the ones who are Retirement eligble and didn't take the buy-out. Well Mother Nature is taeking care of those people. Let us face it it is cheaper to bury someone than pay them a pension and bennies. The system wide senority lay-off like I said is not practical. There has to be openings in order for the others to come to your home plant. As of right now there is no openings. Once again high senority people think they know more than the low end people. Then again I could be wrong only time will tell
  18. While I sit back and thnk of what this comedy show should be called, I agree that 15 years of Senority might not be able to hold a spot in the parking lot. There has been quite a few people who has not taken the buy-out, only they know their reasons for not doing so. I myself have not taken the buy-out and this is a gamble I am willing to take. I just need for you to explain to me as well as to everyone else on here on how they are to go to a system wide lay-off. For arguments sake, let's say that on June1st of this year everyone who has 15 years of senority or less are to be laid-off. This is a Sunday by-the-way. So oon June 2nd the first day to work after this massive lay-off only people who have the time to work will be there to take the place of all who was laid-off. you Iamwhosure, are one of the lucky ones so you are now at a new facility to work. You do not know any jobs on the line so you will have to train on dayshift to learn the job then about a month later you are put on nightshift. Your senority at your last plant was able to let you work on dayshift. You are now in a new town, you have no idea where to go or what to do. You might run into one of those people who got bumped out of their job so you can work there. You think that, that person is going to be nice to you. Then again they might be. point is, they could go for a system wide lay-off but I think that will be unlikely. Most if not all Building Chairman's will simply not allow that. They too have family working there and they do not want to see their family out on the street just to let some higher senority people come in and take their jobs. That is why we have HOME PLANTS. This is why the I-UNION dosen't include this into the National Contract. I am sure FORD wants to do something of this nature but I doubt it will happen. IF IT DOES HAPPEN IWILL TELL EVERYONE MY NAME ON HERE AND LEAVE FORDS FOR GOOD. WITH OR WITHOUT THE BUY-OUT.
  19. Well, I guess it is my turn to step up and give my best guess. I feel that lay-offs are on the way. No plant will be safe. Plants that were saved from closeing during contract are on the verge of being closed now or at least shuttered. How can they offer you jobs after you are laid-off you might ask? I do not know. We all seem to think that there is no jobs anywhere in the system, but Ford has a plan. Frank the words "awesome" and "my bad" are words my 12 year old uses. DTP We all know you want the best for each and everyone who took the buy-out. I, like you are in the same boat as a few thousand other people. I am too young to leave and too old to go anywhere else. I have to stay, at least for now. I only hope I made the right choice as of now. AnotherAutoWorker I like your books keep writing them. They are easy to read and most if not all are interesting. I will continue to support Ford by buying their products. Even if I do end up leaving. I have driven nothing but Ford's all my life and getting the chance to work for them was a dream come true. Or should I say nightmare. I believe our products are as equal to any Jap model on the road. We need to get that out to the public, I just do not know how. As for people saying we do not build products people want, I say bullshit. Look at what we build and look at the sales figures for each and every product we build. We need to stick together in order to bring our stock up. Oh and by-the-way I too bought stock when it was at $60 and $70. I sold it just before the split.
  20. Let them go on strike. Maybe then something will be done with the high cost of fuel. Better yet get all truckers and trucking companies go on strike for lower fuel. After they go on strike maybe the Railroad industry and Airline industry can follow suit. Call me crazy but this is just what this country needs right now. A massive strike that will affect each and every person in this country. Add to that the possiblity of electing a whole new group of people in Washington D.C. to get this economy back on track. Let us take back our country and put an end to the greedy corporations. Put all the oil people in the poor house at the same time. Who is with me.
  21. PARIS: SU@# MY NU%S YOU SALARY PIECE OF CRAP. You want to preach to me about QUALITY. Get off your ass and do some of the real quality work and leave. It is ones such as yourself that has brought down this company. Most people in here bust their ass everyday by going above and beyond their call of duty on the line. What have you done lately, wrote someone up because they stopped the line FOR A QUALITY ISSUE. If you are so damn concerned about quality come on down to KTP and look me up I will give you some quality ass beatings. This forum doesn't need your self induced bullshit. We do not care if you want to move to Detroit and work side-by-side with Mulally. Our products are as everybit good in quality as any Japanese models on the road. The problem doesn't lay with us it lays with asswipes like you who still don't get that. Get down off that high horse you have been riding for some time now and get a little dirty by working on the line. Oh wait maybe you are a engineer and make the problems that we are haveing. I do not want to wish anyone here any Ill will but you can kiss my ass right up there in that little brown spot!!!!!!
  22. Even though I have never been there, I feel like a part of me will die after they raze the building. Once the Blue Oval runs through your blood all plants are considered your home. Good night and God bless.
  23. Folks, we can sit here here then bitch and moan as to who is right or wrong. Bottom line is the economy is bad. Why is it bad you ask? It is bad due to the lack of leadership in Washington. I am not only talking about Bush but about each and every member of Congress and the Senate. We need to send a strong message to them. FOLKS I MEAN A FU%^ING STRONG MEASSAGE. Tell them to geyt off their fat asses and start working to save this country. If they can't seem to do that then VOTE THEM THE FU#$ OUT!!!! Show them who is really in control of their jobs. On the same note, we need to start showing upper management at FORD that their biggist problem is not us but the ones who are in charge of this damn Company. Not jus Mulally but each and evry plant manager is to blame. I hate to even say this about our union but they might need to look the other way at a handful of people in our plants who just do not want to work. If they get fired for an AWOL problem do not fight to get them their job back. They obvisously do not want to work in the first place. The ones with drug problems, give them one chance if it continues have them be gone too. While this is going on get FORD to get rid of some of the worthless supervisor's and such. Most of them are just in the way taking up valuable air we breath in there. Have FORD hold the Engineer's responsible for anything wrong with the product we build. Do not write up the employee because they have trouble doing the job when the problem is with the design. Or we all could just say FU#$ IT, and build everything like crap until we all lose our jobs. Oh wait we do that already.
  24. Does anyone want to. I don't I have decided along time ago to have a life.
  25. On tne local news today at noon, they said the total number of buy-outs is less than 450 between the two plants here is Louisville. The difference in the numbers they need will be LAY-OFF's. Most people here seem to think that this will only fall on LAP but keep a close eye on KTP. My prediction for LAY-OFF's at KTP is ----------------->50 to 450 additional people. This is just my guess or prediction no useful info on this as of yet. I REPEAT THIS IS ONLY MY GUESS AND PREDICTION DO NOT TAKE THIS TO THE BANK. With that said, remeber the only thing to do in a Nuclear attack is to bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. That might, just might be what we will do here.
