  1. Whoever it was, thanks for the typo correction.
  2. Volvo consider(s) U.S. plant Ugh... I wish one could edit topic titles.
  3. Saab is an innovator. They're almost in the same league as Volvo. If not more so. http://www.trollhattansaab.net/archives/20...innovation.html http://www.saabmuseum.com/innovations/index.html They're still responsible or partly responsible for a lot of the stuff GM is currently using (although one is not likely to hear about it like Volvo/Ford).
  4. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../806030389/1014 Which current plants you think they might be looking into?
  5. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1211231446...17.html?mod=DAU Aside from record sales, wasn't Volvo making profit until last year? So why does everyone act like they've been some sort of money pit for years?
  6. c/s it's supposed to be the most sporty out of Volvo's line-up. At least produce a performance model. Also, I'm beggining to wonder if switching from RWD is when Volvo began to lose it's customer base. http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=96997
  7. I think the Ford Taurus, Taurus X, Ford Flex, Mecury Sable, Focus, Mazda 3, S-Max, Galaxy, Mazda 5, Kuga, Mondeo, Ford Research and Development, Ford of Europe, incoming profits until recently, the Volvo Safety Center and FoMoCo's current turnaround and revival efforts would like to disagree with you. Volvo needs to take performance more seriously, though. The C70 has no business being as underpowered as it is.
  8. Maybe, but everyone's been asking questions on whether Volvo can remain competitive vs RWD performance. It seems the image Volvo is striving towards is "safety." The thing is everyone else is also doing "safe" as well. I quite like Volvo's current design direction and also were they are taking it, but I agree that they need to update the line.
  9. I was wondering what everyone thought of Volvo abandoning RWD back in the 90's and fully adopting FWD? Given the current market Volvo is in, and especially where they are planning to position themselves in the near future, was it the right choice? Why or why not? I even keep hearing Volvo enthusiasts say that the 700, 900, and 200 series are the last REAL Volvos. If this was a bad idea, what are the ways or what steps should be taken to fix it? Now getting rid or the R line was, IMO, a mistake, especially given that Audi has the RS line, Mercedes has AMG and BMW the M line. Volvo coming out with the new "R-design" makes it even more saddening.
