ok, so i did a web search and found something stating that to check if your 2008 escape is effected by this program/issue, to look at the cooler mounting bolt, which is easily visible through the passenger side of the front grill as it is in front of the radiator, and if the mounting bolt has a rubber grommet around it, you are ok and not effected since this design should be ok. i looked at ours (purchased in 9/08, built in 6/08) and it indeed does have the rubber grommet and is not leaking, albeit we only have 8500 miles on it. anyone else know this to be fact? i'm still going to have the dealer look at it when i take it in for some other warranty repairs soon. thanks, chad

I'm looking for a set of front and rear splash guards for our new 08 xlt with the step bar. Does anyone own an 08 with any splash guards that they installed? Ford ones or aftermarket? I know Ford makes them, however I doubt the dealer would actually have them in stock to see what they're like, hence the post here to see if anyone has them. Anyone know the Ford part number for fronts and rears for an 08? Thanks, Chad

Viperpilot, thanks for all of the info. I didn't see any specific info pertaining to such a vin lookup in your sticky, and wasn't really asking/expecting a specific vin lookup, just hopefully some sort of table, hence the post. Thanks for explaining too that the prod seq number isn't 100% due to build delays and such after the vin is allocated. I also realize the build date is on the door jam, however I obviously can't drive all over PA looking at door jams. I'm sure I could call the dealers and ask, but I really like to have the info beforehand, then when I ask, it is more of a leading question that I already know the answer. BTW, what would be a reasonable ship time amount to add to the build date in the door jam? Thanks, Chad

Hello. I am wondering if it's possible if there's some table or list that I could see that would approximately match up the 6 digit production sequence number out of VINs to when that occurred. Specifically, I am looking/tracking six 2008 Edge's at various dealers and am curious if I can tell approximately how long they have been on their lots based on their build dates, plus some ? ship time allotment (what to use for ship timeframe?) Possible? FYI, the six 6 digit seq numbers are: A66812, A78089, A28418, A11498, B10011, B10696 Am I correct in thinking that for instance for A66812, that that was the 66812th Ford truck built in 2008 year? If so, can I match that to a month/year when built? TIA. Chad
