Hey Haj, You have to understand who you are dealing with! These Folks who have been all over your butt are at the end or in the middle of the Baby Boomer Generation. The Baby boomers have sucked this country dry!! Yes they should be accredited with making things better through the 70's, 80's and 90's but they have kept sucking! The tit is dry and they keep sucking. Because of their inability to see that they were getting this country into a bad spot has left us ALL in a world of pain. Remember that half of the country voted for Bushy! Twice! Fifty percent of union members at the time voted Republican and were proud of it. At the time their were more baby boomers than newbies, or like one guy said "Mister Rogers generation" working for Ford!! Now most of them have gotten their buyout checks, their 30 year pension and are on their way to getting social security! Keep sucking!! I am not too worried about myself, I will do what I have to do, But I am worried about our kids!! I hope we can ALL fix this problem so generations behind us can prosper. An attitude that the baby boomers don't know any thing about, they just want to know where the next juicy tit is. Just look at AIG do you think that any of them execs are in their 20's or 30's? Hell no. They are in their 50's and 60's! They found a milk filled booby and went after it! They can say what they want to say about you and I, But remember we were RAISED by them, so they are responsible for all of this.

Bush is a frippin MORON!!! You know who is worse? Union Republicans!!! Half of our skilled trades force at the plant voted for him! They were very proud and vocal about it too!!! I need to change my screen name because I have gone back to work. That said here is what is wrong with the whole situation. I sat around for 5 months in JSP. I went back to the Sterling Plant 3 weeks ago, They posted the schedule for Christmas shutdown and I am working 8 of the 12 days. Doesn't that say it all!! Seems like mismanagement to me! The UAW takes a lot of crap while management makes decisions like this?!?!

Sounds to me like you are dogging trades. Any way you did touch on a subject worth its weight in gold, old lazy trades. These lazy bastards need to step up and pull their weight or the young ones are going to run them out. I will try my best, anyway. Management needs to keeps these guys out of the bars (richie) and keep them on the floor working. I have mouths to feed. They have all ready spent their retirement before they have retired. Not my problem, until they lay me off.......... ah screw it! it's like beating a dead horse!

10 or 12 Elec, 6 PF, 6 MW, 4 or 5 MR I think a couple TM and HYD. Everyone keeps saying we are going back but I haven't got a phone call.

So what you are saying is that I have to pay for your incompetence to save money, for your retirement. I hope the young seniority workers learn from baby boomer mistakes and turn this company and this country around! High seniority workers created the problem we just walked into it. At least the union that you hired had the common sense to cover us lower seniority employees asses by getting a job security program in place! I appreciate that! Talk about reliable- I can rely on quite a few high seniority trades people to not do their jobs everyday!! But hey, at least they show up right?

Yes they do eventually weed themselves out but in the meantime the workers who bust their ass, pay the price of a lay off with a possibility of permanently losing their jobs. While a lazy ass employee sits there, does nothing and doesn't care. Don't you get tired of defending yourself? I do!!! I see it in the papers, I hear it on the radio, I wear my colors strong and it never seems to level out! The perception of us is negative. Period! It needs to change! Thanks for letting me vent. SOLIDARITY!!

Listen I am glad that all of you people have this much time on your hands to post this much crap. That said, these people just went over to V.D. they bailed on Sterling and local 228 because they felt they would be better off in local 2280. Local 228 needs to ensure that these people DO NOT COME BACK until everyone in JSP is BACK TO WORK. Then and only then should local 228 consider allowing them back to Sterling. We want to come back to work and you folks are worried about where one person is going to end up. It shouldn't surprise any of you that "something is up" and someone is not playing fairly!! That is life, get over it! Most of us are spoiled under worked babies. I say US because we are still a union. Right? Well we need to step up and start pressuring these lazy long timers to start working or retire. If you cannot retire and you are lazy do yourself a favor and support your working brothers and sisters, because you will not make it anywhere else! Consider this job the best gift that your family member or family friend ever gave you. Public sentiment is not good for the UAW, people are blaming us and no one else! We know the truth, but in the public eye we are the reason for this mess. So we need to make this right and start treating this job with some RESPECT and make the UAW a proud public figure once again.
