  1. KCAP has the highest Quality on high end trucks all the way to regular cabs, if you work for Ford, you can see the stats. If KCAP closes, we will follow our product as the contract states and I will bump someone off their job and put them on the street.

High quality people at KCAP in the shiny new plant at DTP- of course Ford is thinking of moving us there.

Basically, I don't understand what the deal is over people being happy that KCAP could close. That's my plant. If it closes, I'm bumping, as the contract states. Where's the joy in me taking someone else's job?

  2. Sure, can you PM me and let me know how to access the other site. If you don't mind maybe I could start and Q&A post on this site for those interested in answers to real questions and problems. Let me know because I only accessed it once a long time ago and can not remember how to access it! Thanks! Kills me to hear people talk bad about the UAW, some just don't have a clue. For those of you I offended too fricken bad, for those of you I have answered questions for, I will check this site periodically, but will not post on this site anymore.....provided I get access to the other site!! If not all bets are off. Wait for your PM Level...thanks!

Captain, I think it is great that you advocate for the UAW. I have no problems with you voicing your support. However, I am troubled by the fact that you are in an absolute refusal to admit that the UAW has problems. The union is a business and has good and bad parts, just like anything else.

  3. All I got to say is get a fking clue!! Are you in 5th or 6th grade? Even if he stole 100 peoples checks, if you are not one of the 100 shut you mouth and mind your business. I would like to hear from someone who got their sht stole!! They are the only ones that should speak up...everyone else keep your politic BS to yourself!

Why can't you just scroll past the posts that you don't agree? I'd like to see you contribute something positive to any discussion regarding Ford. I'm sure you work as hard as all of us, but come on.

If we don't agree, we don't agree. Why don't you attack the subject matter and not the poster?

  4. id say that there is about a zero percent chance of what your uncles says happening....what is he a janitor at glass house

Did I say there was a huge chance of this happening? No. Is there a chance of Ford moving seniority people to DTP from KCAP to use the best people and the best equipment to Ace quality and control? YES.

Yes, My uncle is in maintenance at the glass house- not. They outsourced those jobs and have a private cleaning company for the offices. Check it out for yourself.

  5. Listen up dude, if you have the balls.....call Chris yourself........I know who you are...so I know you know the phone number to get a hold of him.

Go ahead.......call him and demand an answer from him..........

    Just what I thought.

    You are a Chickenshit............

C'mon......is this how you dumbasses plan on achieving your secret agenda! HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH good luck with that!!!!!!!!LOL

First off, I am female as most people here know. Secondly, you have no clue of who I am, other than I work at KCAP. Therefore, please refrain from making judgments on subjects you know nothing about.

  6. Here's the deal- aren't you all sick of the fighting between the plants? All I see here is "DTP won't ever close because we are the chosen ones." Bull crap- if Ford sees fit, they will close DTP. KCAP, LAP and whoever they can to save a buck.

No one is safe. My uncle works at the glass house in Detroit and he said, "if DTP has the best plant with the best equipment, let's bring the veteran workers from KCAP." In other words, he hopes to keep DTP open with KCAP workforce. That is a screwed up deal and NO ONE WINS.

Move forward people and stop the bullshit.

  7. The proceeds for the sale of this property will probably be used by our IUAW leadership to promote more Democrat politicians during the next elections coming this fall.

I hope the funds are used to pay for displaced workers! As a democrat (socialist actually) I have a problem with our leadership supporting one candidate over another in the democratic party- without input from the membership. I don't like having a flyer tossed at me that outlines who I am supposed to vote for.

  8. What gives the UAW leadership the right that belongs to ALL UAW members? Did we vote on this? Who gets the profit from the sale? Is this going to be split between all members?

I'm all for selling Black Lake, but let's keep it fair. Where does the money go? Which one of our leaders pockets these profits?

  9. My Grandfather retired from the UAW with great benefits and lived a fantastic life. He looked forward to retirement and lived life to the fullest.

He'd roll over in his grave if he new te reduction of benefits to retirees.

All I can say is that I"m sorry the company you all worked at, for years and years, gave you the fork. My son wanted to work for Ford when he graduated from high school, several years ago. Thankfully, he didn't hire on.

Anyone want their kids working for this company? Three generations of Ford are in my family and yet, I'd never want it to be a fourth generation working for the greedy bastards.

  10. I have a real problem trusting this guy, considering he and Gettlefinger tried to ram that last contract up our ass. After looking at his educational background- I'd say he looks good on paper. That's about all I can say that looks good for him.

King has long been considered a possible candidate for the union's presidency. He started working for Ford in 1970 after graduating from the University of Michigan and serving in the U.S. Army. King, who also has a law degree, was re-elected to his third term as a union vice president in 2006.

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/w...0,6520796.story

Still, King's future appeared to be in jeopardy last fall when workers overwhelmingly rejected cost-cutting contract changes that King and Ford had agreed to. Workers at the Dearborn Truck Plant near Detroit honked horns and shouted down King when he visited to explain the changes.

  11. The voting is today and Saturday the results won't be in until late Saturday but I'm sure it will be high, with all of the b.s. going on and all the DLO's we've had.

I'm confident the strike vote will pass. I don't think we are going to strike, but something needs to change- like the load on jobs and the DLO bs.

  12. Lead paint, runaway cars, these countries have no standards but yet Americans keep buying these products because it saves them money, not lives. You can see now why the aliens haven't contacted us!!!

    :hysterical:

You make a good point, other countries don't build the quality we do or have the safety standards.

  13. Serious question- this 'the general' really work the line at Ford? It's odd that he and that Candy Cane person both post the same BS over and over. Isn't there a chance it's the same person and neither one work at Ford?

KCAP is sticking our necks out to protect our jobs and do them safely.

As for the rumor of the F150 leaving KCAP- fat chance. FYI- no one is safe, KTP and DTP can claim they are both in the green zone with no worries. Wrong.

  14. You MUST be a first generation Ford worker. I wouldn't be able to show my face at the family gathering with that attitude.

No joke! My grandfather would roll over in his grave if I spewed that crap out of my mouth.

Retirees worked HARDER than we ever did (we still work hard, just with the newer technology) and they earned to have a Christmas bonus during their retirement years.

  15. I find it strange that when KCAP Truck was running 2 shifts,DTP was rotating downweeks, now that KCAP Truck went to 1 shift DTP is no longer rotating downweeks, but KCAP Truck is working 10 hours a day and Saturdays...Something does not add up...

Look, KCAP and DTP work for the same team, right? Let's stop the between the plant bullshit.

Edit: Also, you have NO clue about how bad the mgmt is at KCAP now. They have 60 fork drivers on DLO because Ford changed the policy of how to stack stock.

  16. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/RunawayToyot...tory?id=8980479

Refusing to accept the explanation of Toyota and the federal government, hundreds of Toyota owners are in rebellion after a series of accidents caused by what they call "runaway cars."

ShareMore PhotosSafety analysts found an estimated 2000 cases in which owners of Toyota cars including Camry, Prius and Lexus, reported that their cars surged without warning up to speeds of 100 miles per hour.

Toyota is blaming the floor mats.

Finally, the truth gets out- American made vehicles are safer.

  17. Why Don't you show your self Candy***

Your a tool , You must be some A** licker

Your only a TOOL. How many other Names DO YOU have. :stirpot:

Anytime I see her screen name, I know she's going to post something stupid. It's cheap entertainment~ NOT.

Candy Cane doesn't work for Ford, gimme a break. She's a housewife who is hoping her Ford husband keeps his job so she doesn't have to actually get off her ass.

  18. The money is just not for the big 3 the UAW represents all types of workers.

You did not want to give up the right to strike in the Octomods but now you want to divvy the strike fund a redistribute it huh ?

How about we leave that money alone or better yet if you do get your wish and sell your right to not strike how about we give it to who deserves it....retiree's I am sure they will all need it in one form or another since GM and Chrysler retirees will have no chance at pension increases, VEBA will kick in soon at Ford and they are sure to lose some form of medical benefits.

I mean if anyone deserves this money back it would people that have actually seen a strike in their time with the company, they allowed us to have what we do currently, seems only right they should get the benefit from it since current rank and file seem to forget what they have given us and are so willing to sell their rights for a few thousand dollars.

Excuse me for coming in so hard on you Jester but come on be real.

    Leave the money alone.

Do not use it to organize obviously at the moment IUAW is only capable in organizing entry level waged workers.

If it is used for anything other than strikes use it to help VEBA shortfalls or use it to fight unfair trade policies.

The UAW sat silent during the Clinton administration while universal health care was being talked about , and as of today they are doing the same on our trade policies.

They have settled for organizing labor that makes half the wages and benefits we currently do, these are on par with outsourced or transplant workers that do not have the standards we do in the U.S.

If the IUAW continues on the path they are on ignoring all the signs you can bet we will all be making transplant wages, strike clause or no strike clause, its just a matter of time with the current unfair trade policies.

You do make good points. I don't know crap about these funds and I'm one who will admit I stood by for years and bitched and moaned and did nothing. No longer. When we voted NO, we all stood together and no longer complained- we acted.

I'm just trying to roll ideas in my head.

What I'd add to your post is that the UAW sat quietly when Clinton gave Red China the Most favored trading rights- I do like Clinton but his policies were flawed more than once.

  19. David Cole should be "punished" for being a Dumbazzz! Definitely not his father's son. Being a child of privilege, the guy doesn't have a clue what its like in the real world. He probably never worked a day in his life.

Which is why Ford thought we'd all sign away our jobs in the last contract. Henry Ford designed the company with "One tool, one man per job on the assembly line." (okay, I'm female, times change) His kids took over and the arrogant asses they are, along with their coparts, have never worked hard in their lives.

  20. 600 million. The rest of your statement doesn't even make sense. GM/Chrysler/Ford all have the right to strike. Even with the bankruptcy of the other 2 they have the right to strike. Even if the modification would have passed we would be able to strike the company. Also the strike fund isn't just for the big3! You know better than that, jester!

LOL- I don't know better than that. I don't understand how the strike fund works, it just seems like a solution to distribute it and then I'd vote not to strike- which they want to take away anyway. I thought GM and Chrysler can't strike while they are under whatever government control they have since the bailout?

2007 there was supposed to be, 600 million in the strike fund and then the convention delegates voted to take 50 million out to campaign for the uaw to reuit.

Seriously, can this 600 million dollars be redistributed if we vote not to strike? I'm trying to find a perspective that is viable, because I don't want to have another bullshit contract thrown at me with a 1000 dollar extortation payment to insult my intelligence.

If I take the right to strike from my contract, I want to be compensated for it. REALLY compensated, like through the strike fund which won't be needed if we don't strike.

  21. I'm still trying to figure out some way to blame all of this on Wal Mart.

Luckily, even if I can't find a link between this debacle and Wal Mart, there are still 100 other reasons to never shop there. B)

They set the mantra for importing cheap products- there's a link.

We need a new "Buy American" campaign, I don't shop at Walmart unless I have to- which is rare/
