  1. If someone on ILO turns down a transfer to another location and does not take the buyout do they still have recall rights to their home plant? I believe it's a year for every year worked. Also, what if someone takes the transfer and does not take the enhanced moving allowance do they still have RTBU rights? Have friends on ILO that just want to clear this up and thought this would be the place to find out for sure. P.S. Someone Captain kiss ass I'm still around, I thought he took his ball and went home.
  2. Captain kiss ass are you still here? Just because I have not posted lately dont think I,m gone! Three people still have to get laid off before your rid of me. I'm so happy to see UAW members voting no on the concessions. The Brady bunch spoke at ATL HVC and this week and his we'll sell FCSD speach must have worked because it passed 17-13, but I'm telling you I voted NO! To be exact I voted Hell NO! Once again I urge everyone that still has a vote stand up for yourself, stand up for your family, stand up for your union, and vote NO. If these concessions mean so little why does the company want them so bad? I just wish the IUAW would quit working for the company and start working for the membership. Once again lets start small and quit letting supervisors treat the membership like shit. I'm all for productivity and quality but I'm not for being treated like I'm disposeable while doing it. I'd like to say this to all line workers on a job thats overloaded while line speeds go up. Hang in there! I've been there and I know what its like. You think are they trying to make me quit, are they trying to hurt me. Before AAP shut down working conditions were terrible with no union at all what so ever for at least the last 3 years, but belive me unless I'm wrong, very wrong, theres no way people will do it for $14.00 per hour with no chance of a raise anytime in the near future. People are not disposeable! Im drunk!
  3. Nobody asked Captain to quit posting on the oval, he made that choice all by his little lonesome. All I said was if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck it must be a duck. Every time you tried to reason with the guy on his pro company stance he started spewing personal attacks. He has a classic case of can dish it out but cant take it. I tried to express my disaproval with a certain IUAW rep and all he did was tell me what a great guy he was, dont piss in my ear and tell me its raining. If the captain wants to take his ball and go home, so be it. He needs to get off the computer and do his job. Once again lets start small get the company off my ass and quit answering every question with "they can do that". The local union is nothing without the backing of the IUAW, and in the south its like working without a contract at all. The members all want to blame the local chairman, but until the IUAW puts their foot down and says enough is enough nothing is going to change. A few of these supervisors and supers need to be taught a lesson about what its really like to work under a union contract, like I said lets start small.
  4. Captain I know your out there and you proved my point exactly! Now is not the time to run and hide. It's time to stand up for yourself, stand up for your family, stand up for your union, stand up for retirees, and stand up for the U.S.A. I'm not saying run out and go on strike, but I am saying dont give up the right to strike. Dont give up everything past union brothers and sisters obtained through collective bargaining just because its what the company says it needs to stay competetive. The company will do and say anything in order to get what they want. The company has more levels of management than it needs. I think they like that way so they pass the buck if something goes wrong. Count the levels of management in an assembly plant its just plain crazy, but they'll cut a line worker and pass his work off to other jobs in a second. In the HVC's there are often three supervisors, a super, and a warehouse manager for less than forty people, a first grade teacher watches thirty something children. Not to mention management makes more money. Not one union man has designed a car that didnt sell, designed a tire that wouldnt hold air, designed a speed control that caught fire, or made decisions that cost millions, but its all our fault because we make seventy dollars an hour. The company loves to spew that rederick. Do they ever stop to think that the some people might think we really make seventy dollars an hour and thats why they dont buy an Ford. Hell I'll take a five dollar cut to sixty five right now and get my own insurance. Right now all I want is to be treated like a human being with basic worker rights without having my job threatned everyday. I'm drunk.
  5. The Captain reminds me of a egronomic rep we had in Atlanta who never sided with a union member. Everythings fine on your job just dont change mine. At some point the relationship between the IUAW and the company merged into one big blue monster. I think since the union took control of VEBA. and they know they dont have the money to pay retirees its benefical for them to get rid of all the people they can while they can.
  6. This guy the Captain is the biggest suckass ever! It's obivous his job is not value added because all he does is sit in front of a computer and take up for the company, the union, and the IUAW. The IUAW is a shell of its former self and every card carrying UAW member knows it.(They can do that. Be happy you have a job!) It's the only thing a union rep has to know! I'll gurantee you the Captain has a job his daddy got for him or he's actually management. This guy kisses so much company ass his breath smells like shit.
  7. Answers The answer is follow the fucking contract both parties agreed too. Ive got fucking answers.
  8. Hey captain company kiss ass I can quote movies too. " Hey you like apples ? How do you like them apples." I'm drunk.
  9. Hey captain company kiss ass cant you read. I've got a job but I had to hire a lawyer to get the compay to honor the contract, your kin folks in the IUAW damn sure didnt do anything to help because they wanted to give my job to to their friends, and relatives like you. Its obivous youve got a cushy Ill swallow your dick job because you spend all of your time on the computer and every post you make is so pro company it makes me want to puke. How the fuck did it benefit the entire labor movement the only thing he knows how to do is withdraw a grievance and say "They can do that" what kind of fucking needs do the people have, the plant is gone and the members are out of a job. The only two people that left standing were the last two chairmen both of whom let the company roll over the workers like a steamroller. Both are just the kind of IUAW reps the company loves, just dont mess with the thermostat and you can treat the rank and file any way you want. The only thing your right about is me having dreams. I dream the entire I couldnt run a snow cone stand if it only had and two flavors and one of them was plain ice management team at the Atl HVC went to lunch and couldnt find their way back to the building. Sometimes I dream people like you could grow a backbone say the right thing to do is honor the Natl. contract, the local contract, but I doubt that will ever happen because you spend so much time kissing company ass your breath smells like shit. Good night. Go DAWGS.
  10. Hey Captain kiss ass. you management muncher. I couldnt understand what you had to say, because you had your supervisors dick in your mouth and your Intl. Reps dick in your ass. I dont want the shirt off his back I want him to do his job. I dont need to to know him to know he's doing a shitty job. I dont think one person had a say in a plant closing I think one person ran out on the people who elected him in their time of need you dumb son of a bitch.(You started it)If your stupid enough to believe the company and the union didnt know exactly what they were doing your just a dumb ass that gets exactly he deserves. You dont realize I know the company lied, stick your head back up the company's ass and come to terms wth the fact the union knew exactly what was going to happen. When the company closed the number one plant in the world, thats right the world, the union knew exactly what was going happen and allowed te company to treat the employees like shit for over three years it pissed me off. The difference between me and you is you just lay there and take it in the ass while I stand up and fight for everything union brothers and sisters have fought for the last seventy years. You just keep voting yes on everything thats put in front of you and soon youll be making fourteen dollars an hour while your Intl rep and a few company execs laugh all the way to the bank, and just one more thing dont believe everything you read in the National ENQURIER or see on Ford TV
  11. Yes this is the real Partdawg. I want to tell you a little story about the intl. rep here in the south. Not so long ago UAW members at the Atlanta assembly elected a chairman alot of people said was a pretty good fellow. At the time I really didnt know him, and I still dont, but I can tell you one alot of ex UAW members despise the man. At the time AAP was trying to get a new car it was rumored to be the EDGE, the Fusion, the 500. One day a letter came around stating the chairman was taking a job with the international and everyone could pick up a two liter Pepsi at the end of the shift as thanks for electing him. A new election was held and a new chairman was eleceted, soon after it was announced the plant was to be closed. The new chairman was still wet behind the ears and in way over his head for a plant closing. If you think the company and the union didnt know werent in this together your just nuts. This ploy has been used before and will be used again. In the mean time I had RTBU rights and was given a return date to my old plant, then a week before the plant closed I was told to report to the GEN bank. I sat in GEN for fourteen months the time whole being promised the contract would honored. It was almost impossible to get someone to answer the phone at the international not less answer a question with a straight answer. Eventually a group of employees with RTBU rights hired a very good lawyer and whithin two weeks were given a return date to there old plants. Its my opinion this Intl. rep was trying to wait us out in order to give our jobs to his friends. He never spoke to us or represented us in any way during he entire ordeal. If you think your Intl. rep has your best interest in mind you are wrong. The only person they are looking out for is themselves. What people in the south are trying to say is how about a little support from Intl. ,the company is steamrolling over employees like never before, what the hell have I been paying for the last twenty years. Quit giving away everything the union has worked for in the past seventy years all at one time. These employee rights will be hard to reobtain in future contracts. Stand up for Ford workers, and UAW members everywhere.Quit worring about the air conditonig and remember when you were on the floor and what the UAW is supposed to stand for.
  12. If you would put down the kool-aid cup you follow the leader hack and realize the results we could achieve by my suggestion, the international reps would get off their butts and engage the membership. This might motivate the reps to begin making the company adhere to the contract. ( every single clause ) If not , then why have the contract. It turns into just words. It is suppose to be a binding agreement. So you just stay back curled up sucking your mothers tit. The big boys will lead.
  13. It's official, we have absolutely zero representation at the national level. There has never been a more clear cut case of graft and corruption between company and union leaders. The UAW international are the laborunions supreme court justices. Once they are appointed, there is no fear of removal from office. They are nothing more than a special interest group looking out for themselves. The only message they will receive loud and clear would be for rank and file members to drop out of the union on a large scale. There is nothing that would motivate international than for the $ cofers to drastically be reduced. Could you imagine the sheer panic as union accountants begin to calculate the lack of dues coming in compared to now. Heaven forbid that our valuable international reps would have to be looking at possible cutbacks. To hell with all the sellouts.
  14. The sad part about the Ford CSD is that at one time the management team was competent as well as pretty decent people to work for. It all started to change when Ford became followers instead leaders in the industry. They hired the current man calling the shots from Toyota and he took the Toyota plan and ran with it. I'll admit having the heart of the operation in Memphis makes sense because of the Fed Ex time table involved in the equation, but as far as sheet metal and motor craft I just cant understand how it could be beneficial. The bulk of sheetmetal comes from Memphis to a crossdock where Excel employees combine it with the cages this causes a great deal of damage. When Atlanta had one big building the main problem was the building wasnt big enough and about 5a.m. gridlock would lock the dock down slowing the whole process. The company contracted the dockwork to a logistics company that was incapable of doing the amount of work required to keep the process moving. In the past, with the right orders, I've seen employees pick two hundred lines before break, now all supervisors are concerned about is making sure workers dont get a break. A break is like a dirty word in Atlanta. With seventeen of these buildings thats seventeen warehouse managers that do absolutely nothing. There are twice as many warehouse managers in FCSD as there employees in the Denver PDC.One warehouse manager could run at least four to seven PDC's if not more. Its got to be the biggest waste of money at the Ford motor company. As far as superentendants and supervisors go, a first grade teacher watches more people than they do. Someone needs to inform management we all work for the same company. Employees are provided the cheapest, slowest equipment on the market and continually told to go faster. The cheap stand up lifts damage enough parts to make up the difference in cost with a quality Raymond many times over. I could go on all night about the pick and spread process but I'll talk about that another day.I guess what I'm trying to say tonight is the current FCSD management team couldnt run a hot dog stand and I beg Mr Mullaly please make a change for the better because its not rocket science.Let Mr Lucas go back to the company he loves Toyota.
  15. The key word in your reply was "may be scheduled in advance" we are being required to schedule in advance therefore the entire vacation schedule is full and its virtually impossible to get a vacation day. In the past an employee could never take a vacation day after the fact but if the vacation schedule had an opening vacation was granted. In the Atlanta HVC four employees a day can currently have scheduled vacation, with all employees scheduled this fills the schedule. Employees here understand the use it or lose provision in the new contract but dont feel the company should assign you vacation weeks if you dont schedule vacation for yourself. The HVC never had a problem in the past with vacation this is a problem created by the company. We would like to hear from other HVC/PDC's to see how the vacation scheduling process works in your building.
