  1. WELL SAID: It was also reported that the loans that Ford got by putting up the Oval and everything else, half of the loan has been paid back and the rest won't have to be paid back until late 2012. Ford is doing better and not allowing us to strike for some of our money back is the way to secure their profits. WE NEED TO BE STRONG AND NOT WEAKEN OUR UNION.
  2. Bob King showed up there? If it was, he was my Committee Man when I hired in at the DGP (Dearborn Glass Plant) and had the same rederic back then. He walked with me the last time I walked the picket line. He needs to walk that line again to remember where he came from. I'm sooo disapointed in him. STAY STRONG KCAP!!!
  3. The company sees good (not great) profits in the future . . . They will not want us to share in that!!! Lets look at the BIG PICTURE like the company is. They're in this to bring profits to the shareholders. They will do it on OUR backs. Please, lets try to keep balance here with the company. Perhaps the company believes that all of us have only a High School education or less. Lets not talk or act that way. Many people fought for many of the things we have already given up. It will be many years if at all, that those things we have lost, will never be seen again.
  4. If Ford wants parity with GM and Chrysler then Ford should take the same steps as if they too had taken bailout money. . . With the pay for those corp. execs that took federal money being reduced from 50 to 90%, let Mallaly and the others, including the UAW hierachy take pay cuts also, with stock options that can't be touched for 6 years. . . That way King, Gettlefinger, Mallaly and the others won't bail before we return to profitability. This tier pay for new hires is way wrong. . . If we would just keep everything the same, the company would have leverage to pick top designers, with such an incentive that they would beg to come to Ford. . . With Tier Pay, Henry Fords dream would die. He provided wages so we could buy the vehicles we build. None of us will be able to buy the vehicles we build if we reduce our wages. Keep our wages stable. There will be long lines at the employement office like it was 30 years ago. Attrition will take care of us old timers. . . I didn't live on $100 a week strike pay trying to feed my young family to give all this back now. Someone who is smarter than I, please put this together that all UAW members and the Ford Motor Co will see the folly of all this. PLEASE! We could be the best capitalistic ( not owned by the Federal Government) automotive company in the world if this could be put together correctly. . . The negotiators have been to close to this situation for too long to think out of the box.
  5. Unless a whole plant (I mean 100%) votes no, the message will be lost. . . . Two plants or more would be even better. . . It would get the national attention that is needed to make a clear statement. . . Here at the DTP, there are so many fence sitters that $1000 is all they need. . . There are not enough people that can stay strong and Ford knows this. . . I'm just assuming that if we reject this, they would go back to the table and work up something else . . . These young people here have no idea what it is to be strong for the Union. . . I've seen plenty of posts on Blue Oval that some do know about Union history and the strength needed to preserve the Union and protect themselves and their families, but they are so spread out that there strength becomes weak. . . If any disagree with me, give it to me good. I'll remain silent from this point on if you can show me different.
  6. Have the remaining weeks of lay-off for the year cancelled?
  7. I understand that the downtime for re-tool will be done from Thanksgiving until we come back after Xmas in January
