Deflection.
Tell us why someone at another plant would have such intimate knowledge of what exactly goes on at Van Dyke and put out multiple posts attacking our President and Chairman over the course of a year. I came from Sterling, have family at Sterling and i don't get involved in its internal politics. I don't know who your chairman is or even care.
Can you see where i'm going with this?
You got people over here, I got people ALL THE WAY OVER THERE, people and politics has crossed over for years and you know that for fact. That has been established on here for years. Yes I do see where you are going---round and round in circles trying to do anything to distract from issues that are brought up. Seems your more concerned with the messenger than the message. Being the know it all you think you are---if the issues put on here were off base you would have said so but it is fact that your leadership has done nothing but f-ck trades and now are f-cking prod. by flooding the plant with no job openings, violating the contract and costing people their jobs, all for politics and their own gain. If you don't think plant politics crosses over from one plant to another just look at how we are ALL on lock down because of one Vince Cola.(you brought him up) That ass-hole calls the media on a brother and now it has spread
through out the industry one calling on another, see how that works bullshit spreads from one plant to another. The failures of all leadership in time will effect everyone. Try to stay on point.

Some how all that doesn't add up.
And as far as the temps being laid off, I was told by a rep that it was the companies decision. The the plant did not want to keep them past the date of their temporary status. And that the work level was down too.
But what do i know, i don't work at Sterling.
Trades issue and contract violations by leadership for political gain resulting in the loss of jobs should not be minimized to just a "beef". Doesn't matter where, shouldn't all leadership be call on it when its going on? It would seem your the one with the beef. you go after mod? last I heard he was not your chair but instead of going after the issue you continue to go after someone that has nothing to to with any of it. You got no reason to blame anyone but the people in charge now. You just feed into all the union bullshit and you confirm my theories when you avoid the issues. Although your conspiracy theories are amusing my only point was about leadership and the political bullshit. I guess your job is not at risk---not yet.

So Van Dyke is going to lay off the "temp" tradesmen in 3 to 4 weeks. The project engineers have made it clear there is work to last thru the middle of next year. Instead of keeping brothers and sisters working, Van Dyke is going to kick the tradesmen out before the new contract, just in case, and ensure the "all the overtime you can work" people there will reelect the current office holders. That's solidarity for ya. Oh and don't bother trying to call the IUAW because 99% of time they don't answer the phone or return a call. The 1% they do they just tell you each local can do what they want. Thanks for taking my union dues and then kicking me in the balls!
Van Dyke has gone from one of the strongest union houses to the weakest in a matter of 12 months. Trades big time but everyone has gotten f-cked one way or another. leaders are a joke, management has just run over them. They are now bringing up to 180 new bodies in there by end of year, with zero new jobs coming in. How the hell does that happen? There will for sure be layoffs for VD people down the road, when FN goes out, and no way will there be any overtime. The current office holders don't have a prayer of getting re-elected. They have been in hiding for the last 11 months. My guess is that they are bringing in people to get their votes, They know there's no way the VD people are putting them back in.

Its a counter-point but within reason we need to look at all angles and come up with something.
I'm coming to the opinion that a second dip is a reality and not just a potential problem. Germany's growth has been limited since it took measures like ours and so has Britain's. With countries like Ireland, France, Italy and Greece all starting to do the same i expect our growth to shudder to a halt.
Austerity measures overseas means bad news for our exports and with a weak dollar exports are important to maintain growth. Add in oil prices dropping and you could see the end of the Texas Miracle too.
Poor Rick Perry. If Oil drops his unemployment rate jumps and the 25 million dollar shortfall Texas has could be even bigger for 2012-20013. He could lose the nomination just when it looked like he was a shoe-in.
Rick Perry will not be the repub. nomination. The repub. nomination will go to Mitt Romney. Perry is too far to the right. Mitt can go to the middle and take the independents from Obama and the far right ie tea party hates Obama so much that they will vote for him just to eliminate Obama.

This is a call to all UAW members in regards to how we elect our UAW International leaders. I am tired of these leaders having no accountability for what they do. Our leaders are spending most of their time in the support of their political friends than they are the support of the membership. They showed outright disdain to the Ford membership when the last concessions were turned down, as if we didn't know what was best for us and didn't have a right to vote this money grab down! The truth of the matter is, they allowed Ford to go to the well once too often, not caring that it would be at the expense of the membership! They continue to coddle the companies for Tier-2 employees at the expense of the Legacy employees (3 Tier-2 dues-payers gets us more than 1 Legacy dues-payer). They feel confident in these practices because they know there is no way for them to be unseated, with the possible exception of infighting among themselves. I remember I was eating dinner and listening to an interview with Ron Gettelfinger when he said his is an ELECTED POSITION, I nearly choked on my Hamburger Helper! Please, we all know that is an ANOINTED position where the next president is groomed by his predecessor. Don't try to compare it to our Electoral College, our Delegate system is nothing like that (have you ever been asked by your Delegate or your local leadership who you want them to vote for?), it is closer to the way the College of Cardinals elects the Pope, an extremely small minority makes the decision for all of us with no imput from the membership. This Union needs to return to it's primary function of working for the membership's best interest. The only way we can get it back on track is to introduce accountability to these positions and the best way to do that is to have a General Election open to all UAW members for all upper positions at International. In this way, if the membership sees that a particular individual is not working in the best interest of the membership, then they may not gain re-election and possibly even be recalled in extreme situations. I invite any and all replies representing any and all positions! Let's discuss this for the good of our Union!!

Did I miss where Obama was blamed for this? In now way shape or form should he be blamed for the idiots who did this. I dont know who Vincent or others you mentioned are. I would hope somebody would try and get someone help rather than turn it over to the media. A few bad apples do make us all look bad, either get them help or let them get burnt on their own. The only exception would be if they are putting others at risk.

Tax incentives will not bring jobs back to this country. All the plants that are closing down is the work of this and past administrations not tackling the problems we have with fair trade and countries like China that are manipulating their currency in order to take our jobs away. Giving a company tax breaks is not going to give that company a strong enough inventive to bring back jobs and re-open plants in this country. Those jobs are gone for good and they are never coming back. SHAME ON THE USA..
I will not be voting for Obama this time around because he fails to act on important issues such as US border control and jobs. This administration is not doing anything to bring jobs back or create them. This administration is more focused on sending Millions and Billions of our tax dollars over to countries that hate us and do nothing with the money but take it from those that really need it. Just look at your TV and look at how the living conditions are in those countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and more. I am very unsatisfied on the fact that we can't spend that money over here in the US to help people and help ourselves but no we have to send it to other countries so that we can show our support to them when they hate us and want to kill us. By 2042 we will all be moving over to the middle east to find work.

I would rather see Trump get in office and (as a business man) turn this country around and get us back in the Black then to watch "Wiener" gate type politics and nothing be done. This guy has been in office now for 3 years and can't take care of the problem we have at the Mexican border. He would rather hold dinners for these presidents instead of saying "Look this is what were gonna do". We need an administration that can grow a pair.

What does anyone on here think of eliminating the IRS, having no deductions at all...just a 10% flat for every american or anyone legal or not, Get your w-2 look at gross...pay the flat 10% and be done with it. That way OBAMA's GE would not make billions and pay 0% and even get a refund!
