  1. Don't get me wrong, I know map updates cost money and I do know it is going to be more than some of the cheapest navigation units on the market now. For my Mazda I had before it was $200. My point was more about a.) the map data being that old in a brand new released vehicle and b.) about the time to get any answer out of Ford.
  2. So I got delivery of my '10 Fusion Hybrid in early May of 2009. At that point the maps in the car where at least 1.5 years out of date. Example the I-210 freeway in San Bernadino was official opened June 16, 2007 and the map has nothing even close to it. Similar with several other freeways changes in California. That makes it more than 1.5 years. I have contacted my dealer about it and never got an answer. Tried Ford.com contact us several times and only yesterday I finally got an update (9 months after I took delivery of the vehicle). And what do they tell me? Yes, we just released a map update, please contact your dealer. Not a single word about that the maps were that outdated when I took delivery. And guess how much the dealer wants for the update? $350 for something that should have been more up to date from the beginning.
