  1. I have an 03 Expedition that I purchased used from a local Ford dealer in December of 06. I have been very happy with the vehicle and use it as a daily driver, often towing enclosed mowing trailer. I have only had to put spark plugs and coil boots after the check engine light came on. Other than that I have put on a new set of tires, replaced the battery, changed oil, and kept it full of fuel. It has 113,000 on the odometer. Monday, March 1, 2010, I drove this vehicle 150 miles round trip, parked it in the driveway, went out Tuesday afternoon to pick my son up from school and this is what I had. Key in off and acc. postions seemed normal, run and start positions, there is a buzzing under the dash (behind fuse box on passenger side), and nothing under the hood to even attempt starting. Here's what has been done so far. 1. Called Ford and talked to mechanic 2. Changed the starter (the old one checked out good when returned for core) 3. Check volts to starter solenoid with multi-meter (12.0) (solenoid and starter are one unit on this model) 4. Tried spare key to see if chip was bad 5. Checked fuses and relays (neighbor who is mechanic pulled relays out to try and stop the buzzing to no avail) 6. Tried jumping even though battery is not low according to multi-meter 7. Everything that doesn't require the motor to be running seems to work; windows, power seats, lights, stereo, etc. I have an appointment with the Ford dealership where I purchased it on Wednesday at 8:00 AM. In the mean time, I am without a vehicle. It has to be trailered the 27 miles to the shop (AdvanceTrac) and I have been searching the internet to find a possible solution not only to save the money for what will not doubt be costly repairs, but to see if it is something simple that we are overlooking. Thanks for your help/suggestions
