Correct me if I am wrong (because the website doesn't explain itself clearly), but you want to sue Ford for making mechanics do more work in less time? How exactly is that wrong?
I moved the story "Re-engineering of SLTS" to the top to help you better understand what happened and continues to go on.
I think it's a big reason why so many have trouble getting good service.

Do you think he would be willing to spin wrenches for a week on the assembly line or work flatrate as a dealer tech with the warranty labor times as they are?
A real man would try it and after he saw his bring home pay report back to the masses and admit that something is wrong with the way things are.
What is he going to learn as a dealer salesperson that he doesn't already know?
Sales are down, we have had no product to sell.
Let's sit around drinking coffee and blame the "Back end" for our problems?
I'll challange Mr. Mulally to a simple task and then a hard one..
Change a PCV valve on a late model Taurus/Sable 3.0l Dohc in twelve minutes.
Replace the head gaskets on a Navigator without removing the body from the frame and do it in the time allowed from the SLTS department.
How hard can it be? Anyone can do it...Right?

I believe the dealer can configure the SJB to enable the DRL with WDS and a call to the hotline to get the code.

Is this possible on most newer models (Expedition and Crown Victoria in particular)? And I assume if they can be activated, then they could also be de-activated on a Canadian unit?

Not sure, maybe the Expedition but probably not the Crown Vic.

Thanks Ron......yes, I've driven it......and was about to buy one....the Limited FWD version. As you say, a nice car for the money.
But there are a few things that I have noticed upon a closer inspection that have convinced me to look elsewhere.......a) no factory-ready satellite radio, B) a fixed antenna, c) heated seats.....but no cooled seats, and, d) those ridiculously cheap door plastic door panels.
I'm trading my 2004 LS......but as you know, the LS is going away; and the Zephyr is just an itty bitty Fusion with a different dress on......hard to believe that the Lincoln name is on that car. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to take a real close look at Cadillac.......
You really can't compare the LS to a Montego/Five Hundred.
If you were trading in a Taurus/Sable you would be pleased.
You would have to be out of your mind to buy a Zepher when you could buy a Milan for ten grand less for the same vehicle without all of the ugly trim and leather.
I don't know a thing about Cadillac.

Looks like more BS from Ford.
The warranty labor times are a joke. Problems with getting good service started in 1999 with the "Re-engineering of SLTS.
You get what they pay for and talk is cheap.
