  1. Looks like more BS from Ford. The warranty labor times are a joke. Problems with getting good service started in 1999 with the "Re-engineering of SLTS. You get what they pay for and talk is cheap.
  2. I moved the story "Re-engineering of SLTS" to the top to help you better understand what happened and continues to go on. I think it's a big reason why so many have trouble getting good service. Thanks,
  3. You will need to go to a dealer and pay to have them access the code number. Publisher, http://blueovaltechs.com
  4. Sure is better than sucking the blood out of the Dealers and Techs. Then again, Jac Nasser already did that.

  6. Do you think he would be willing to spin wrenches for a week on the assembly line or work flatrate as a dealer tech with the warranty labor times as they are? A real man would try it and after he saw his bring home pay report back to the masses and admit that something is wrong with the way things are. What is he going to learn as a dealer salesperson that he doesn't already know? Sales are down, we have had no product to sell. Let's sit around drinking coffee and blame the "Back end" for our problems? I'll challange Mr. Mulally to a simple task and then a hard one.. Change a PCV valve on a late model Taurus/Sable 3.0l Dohc in twelve minutes. Replace the head gaskets on a Navigator without removing the body from the frame and do it in the time allowed from the SLTS department. How hard can it be? Anyone can do it...Right?
  7. I believe the dealer can configure the SJB to enable the DRL with WDS and a call to the hotline to get the code.

  9. They read 'em. If they don't like what you state, they'll have you fired and black balled.

  11. A long read but worth the time. http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/14186219.htm
  12. You really can't compare the LS to a Montego/Five Hundred. If you were trading in a Taurus/Sable you would be pleased. You would have to be out of your mind to buy a Zepher when you could buy a Milan for ten grand less for the same vehicle without all of the ugly trim and leather. I don't know a thing about Cadillac. Good luck.
  13. No. It's mounted at the RF "A" pillar. It's a nice car for the money. Take a test drive.
  14. They've been pretty reliable up to this point. Except for the fuel tank strap recall, brake and suspension noises, they are running well.
  15. Parts and labor will be about two-hundred bucks If you remove the black plastic cover on top of the engine, you can see the valve. Two bolts hold the valve to the throttle body. A two wire connector plugged into it. Try tapping the valve with a small hammer while cranking, sometimes they free up. They stick closed and will need to be replaced. It looks like this: http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/HammerTi...0_IAC_valve.gif
  16. My best guess would be a sticking idle air control valve (IAC). Base part # 9F715. Try holding the gas pedel down while cranking and see if it fires up.
  17. Some good info here; http://www.myford500.com/forums/index.php
  18. It's a nice vehicle for the price. The looks are not that bad. It's worth a test drive if you're in the market for a full size car that gets 27MPG highway and is a pleasure to drive.
