  1. Alright everyone... Everyone has been asking for it through the different forums on here. So here it is. I have a 2011 Ford Edge Sport. I've modded it withe the Prozenmotorsports Cold Air Intake, a Magna Flow exhaust, and a custom tuner. I had them do an initial dyno to see where the car is at on horsepower. With a cold run, my 2011 Ford Edge Sport with the Cold Air Intake and Magna Flow exhaust was sitting at just 185HP at the wheels . I was really shocked with the result so several technicians and I checked all the connections, and made sure the wheels were sitting on the rollers correctly. We ran another dyno test and with the engine warm this time the result posted 183.21HP at the wheels. Again with only the CAI and Magna Flow exhaust. The technician did an initial tune and ran the dyno which you can see the results in the last picture. The picture shows the initial run, the second run is after the first tune and the final run is the final tune. After the first tune, he tuned it up some more. Which gave me the final result of 221.7HP at the wheels. I know you can normally expect a 20% loss of horsepower when going from the engine to wheels. They also say that the Edge Sport loses even more horsepower with the 22in rims. Considering all those factors these results are saying that the Edge Sport is losing 120HP from engine to wheels. And thats with a modded CAI and exhaust. Even after custom tuning the engine with those two mods included, the results are telling me that the Edge Sport is running 28% less HP at the wheels from the engine. I've included pictures of the results. The only result that I forgot to print of was the initial result (185HP). I'll try calling the dyno shop to see if they still have it saved and print it off for me. The second and last picture still shows the result differences between the first and last run though. The third picture shows the air to fuel ratio result. Notice on the first run (before the tune) how it drops dramatically at about 4200 rpm's. The tune quickly fixed it where it stays constant through acceleration. Now, I'm not a mechanic and almost all of this was explained to me while he was doing the tests. There's lots of mixed feelings on these forums whether someone should do mods to their vehicle. I chose to do this and I'm capable of putting my PCM back to stock settings at any point that I feel i'm not satisfied with the changes. Thanks and I hope this answers alot of peoples questions.
  2. I havent heard of the problem either, but I do have an after market CAI installed. I am also heavy on the pedal on occasions. Not all the time. I am going to go ahead and purchase a new MAF sensor just in case the oil did contaminate it. I was just wondering if anyone else that has an aftermarket CAI has inspected it to see if they are having anything close to the same problem.
  3. I've had my 2011 Ford Edge Sport since September of last year. Since than I've upgraded to a Cold Air Intake and a MagnaFlow exhaust system. Currently I'm in Las Cruces, NM til the middle of April. Recently my engine has come on. It was something I had to fix originally as the engine had to get used to the new 3in Cold-Air Intake but the light has been on for a while til recently. Yesterday, I opened the hood and took a piece of the Cold Air Intake off to readjust it again only to find that the bottom inside of the Cold Air intake was covered in engine oil. There were actually puddles in some areas of the pipe. I've made a few phone calls and showed a couple coworkers and found out that I have to install a Catch Can or anther word for it is Air & Oil Seperator. They said it's normal for more high performance vehicles. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Could there be something else wrong with the vehicle that I dont know about? There are times that I am a bit of a lead foot. I know that doesnt help but this is the first time I have heard of this happening. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope everyone else is enjoying their new Edge as much as I have!
  4. I do live in the deep south of texas and i've had my 2011 Edge Sport for 7 weeks now. The remote start is really nice during the heat. you just have to be in range of the remote start and give it enough time to run to get the AC cold. It doesnt happen immediately. So say you start the vehicle the second you walk out the grocery store and by the time you get the vehicle the AC hasnt run long enough to blow anything but hot air around inside.
  5. I've preordered my sport. Its just a waiting game now. The dealer has only given a little information about so far. I was wondering if Ford has started a way for the consumer to track the process of the vehicle as it goes through the different processes.
  6. I have already pre-ordered my 2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD. I'm starting to think about the warranty that I want with the vehicle. The Ford website only allows you to look at pricing if you have the VIN and odometer. Obviously that isnt possible cause I dont have the vehicle yet. Can someone please give me the prices for the warranties (Premium, Extra, Base, and Powertrain) before I receive the vehicle so I can get an idea.
  7. My local Ford Dealership has less knowledge of this vehicle than i do. They actually had a Ford Rep come to the dealership to conduct a class on how to operate the new MyTouch. But they still dont know the release date. Any new word on when the release of the Ford Edge is going to be? I know the time is getting near.
  8. So what about the tow package. I have looked at the rear end differences between the Limited and Sport. There is a difference. Even though this package isnt out and I'm almost sure it could be done. I need to figure out if a trailer hitch could be installed on the Sport model. Pushing the jetski trailer to a boat ramp isnt quite an appealing ides. I have entertained the idea of having a metal worker or someone to fabricate a custom trailer hitch. I was just wondering if Ford was intending on coming out with one for the Sport
  9. Maybe someone on this subject can help. I'm about to pre-order my Edge Sport. The only thing i'm waiting for is to figure out where i need it deliverd. I might be relocating someplace so I'm waiting to find that out. My question is.. should i go ahead and preorder it or just get a new one when they come out to the dealers in the area. I've heard that people that preorder this as late as I am are getting their personal vehicle months after its already been out. Just like everyone else. I want mine as soon as possible but it would kill me to see them sitting in lots or other people driving them while i'm still waiting for mine, lol
  10. Yeah, i was comparing the two versions on the 2011 360 degree view. Your right about the different rear end skirt. It kinda goes up at a 45 degree angle which would create a problem with the tow package. It sucks that i have to contemplate the idea of getting an aftermarket tow kit for the jetski. I really liked the idea of having the anti-sway control offered on the other models. Any more information on the assembly. The sales manager i spoke with still says the assembly wont be til August. Does anybody else on here have any ideas on how to get the HID headlights or other things i questioned about in the original post?
  11. Hey guys, This is my first post on here, but I've been following the posts on the new 2011 Edge. I'm getting ready to pre-order mine as soon I know where to have it delivered. It will be my first brand new car. I'm sold on the Sport model but I'm kinda disappointed that the HID headlights, Tow Package, or even the Adaptive Cruise Control isnt available for the Sport model. My question is... Is there anyway that those options could be added to the Sport. Maybe contacting Ford assembly and having them added particularly? I have a few watercraft and the tow package would especially be helpful. Also, the Ford dealer down here in South Texas received a phone call whle I was in his office that informed him that the assembly of the 2011 models have been delayed until August. There's another post in the forum that has them being assembled right now and out in a few more weeks. Got anymore clarification on that also? Thanks for all the help and I'm really looking forward getting my first new car... 2011 FORD EDGE !!
