  1. I can only speak from my experience but my Primary Status on my '11 was "In Production" from Nov 30 - Dec 8.

Secondary status was "Sent to plant" on Nov 30 and then went to "Produced" on Dec 8. Later that day on Dec 8, it went to "Awaiting Shipment" (primary) to Released (secondary) . Hope that helps.

  3. From the manual (pg6):

    BREAKING-IN YOUR VEHICLE

Your vehicle does not need an extensive break-in. Try not to drive

continuously at the same speed for the first 1,000 miles (1,600 km) of

new vehicle operation. Vary your speed frequently in order to give the

moving parts a chance to break in.

Drive your new vehicle at least 1,000 miles (1,600 km) before towing a

trailer. For more detailed information about towing a trailer, refer to

Trailer towing in the Tires, Wheels and Loading chapter.

  4. Well my dealer called me and said it is scheduled to be delivered 2-14-11. I did manage to find the window sticker online.............I am guessing that there is no way to track the truck now that I have my VIN, other than through my dealer?

You have a few options now that you have a VIN:

    Ford customer service - 800-392-3673

Get 10 posts here and you can track the vehicle in the appropriate forum

Sign up over at thedieselstop.com, there's a Ford CS rep there that can probably help you out as well.

  5. So this isn't actually a gooseneck hitch, but makes the truck ready for it?

You'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge in this department as I'm new to 5th wheels (but not trailers). I got the 5th wheel prep package on my '11 F-350 (along with the hitch) and it came with a Reese 25k 5er hitch but nothing for a gooseneck setup. I do have a 3-4" hole (that's capped) in the center of the bed for a gooseneck setup though.

  6. Can someone clarifiy to me why anyone actually buys an F250 over an F350? There is not much of a price difference. Here is Canada, BC anyways, I hardly ever see a F250.

    Is it a weight issue?

To avoid commercial registration in some states (more $$$).

  7. Replying to my own question. I got confirmation that there was a code change and 6 is the correct one for the 40/20/40 config.

I'm anxious already. I ordered a 2000 F250 V10 back in late '99 and just sold that truck about a month or so ago. Was sad to see it go as it served me well for so many years but with 4 kids, I needed more space (ordered a CC).

  8. I ordered a F-350 Lariat crew cab last night and had some concern about the front seat configuration code that was used on the order. I'm looking for the 40/20/40 seat in the front, I NEED that middle seat (4 kids/wife). The code that's in the latest config guide is 8 for the 40/20/40 leather split bench but the one on my DORA says 6 (LTHR 40/20/40). The general manager and sales manager at the dealer reassured me it was correct but I'm skeptical. If this truck shows up with 5 seats, it'll make for a long winter. If anyone has a way of confirming that 6 is correct for the front seat 40/20/40 configuration, I'd really appreciate it. My copy of the DORA also reflects that it's a Job 2 build so maybe the code changed? Thanks in advance.
