  1. Just tell them you are not interested in the service plan, and they can give you the 5.9 without it or forget the deal. DO NOT DO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING!! Also, don't let them add a bunch of fees on either...sounds like a dealer worth staying away from, and I would not hesitate to walk out if they try to screw you around (like they are already doing).

so basically, its bullshit that a service package would have anything to do with my tiering?

  2. So I ordered a new stang from a this dealer because they were willing to give it to me at the best price (invoice), so my car finally comes in and I go to pick it up. I go after work on Fri and start working the numbers with a xplan pin in hands. The guys there that night pulled all kinds of figures that looked great and told me the finance director was not there to complete the deal and to take the car and come back tomorrow to finish. So I go back and the finance director is telling me to qualify for the 5.9 rate I have to get the ford premium care at 1500 which only adds 10k miles to the 3/36 factory to bumb my tier, now I know this most likely bullshit, but this guy lying right to my face? How can i get him to remove it? I don't want them to tell me to f-off and them sell it to someone else, anyone with a strategy suggestions? I was thinking just buy it with the premium care and then cancel it right away for a refund but I don't want to keep paying for it in my monthlys.

  3. Should have been produced today going by your window sticker. My guess is it's on ramp 51 getting the accessories installed.

My mustang was produced on Monday and was on ramp 51 for two days and is now "In Transit", waiting for Cyberdman to get back from vacation to do some more research on it.

It's amazing how fast these things are shipping out now though.

thank you!!!!!! is there a way to see my window sticker at this point?

  4. The CV was modified for these additional safety needs. Modifications included but were not limited to a fire suppression system. To say that a Taurus could not be modified in the same way is shortsighted. You're comparing apples to oranges, and the apple tree hasn't even blossomed yet. The oranges while ripe, are gonna need to be eaten soon 'cause they're starting to rot.

Ford has been modifying the CV for years to fit the needs of the PDs. I'm sure they would do the same to the Taurus.

The reliability on both cars is (presumeably) good, but the durability is the bigger question. Again, I'm sure Ford would upfit these cars with sturdier parts in the appropriate areas. I do think the AWD would be a huge advantage, especially in the northern states... And please don't start talking about a rear wheel drive with TC and a limited slip axle as being the ideal car in the snow. The Taurus will have a larger trunk and back seat. I don't know how hard it would be to remove the center console, or at the least, reduce the bulk of it.

80 MPH rear impact tests aside, I'm sure the Taurus is the far superior car in crash situations. 30 years of technology shouldn't be brushed aside so quickly.

I think the Taurus would make an excellent police vehicle.... The problem is, I don't want to see it happen. I don't want to cringe every time I see one the way I do when I see a CV's headlights in my mirror. I want to enjoy the Taurus, not fear it.

    :hysterical:

  5. Ford Canada holdback is at most 3% of MSRP, or $1650 on your $54K MKX. My advice is to give the dealer that much as profit and start negotiating from the true dealer invoice. If the dealer says they're not making money on Invoice or Invoice + $500 you can tell them they still get the holdback, but I wouldn't try to dip into that holdback amount unless you're looking at a vehicle that's been sitting on the lot for a long time and they just need to get rid of it.

    wow

  6. I think that is the general consensus I've been reading, I to also tried to find out my VIN from the dealer, they told me I would only get it around 4 - 5 weeks after they submitted the order...I've read that people were getting their VIN's in less that 2.

I almost feel like I'm bothering the dealer when I call for an update.

I hear cyberman is the man, just need to get my VIN and 10 posts!

    Tony

    got my vin in 2

  7. The electronics package is definately the better choice over the Shaker1000 ... IMO the Shaker1000 option is way overpriced.. Ive had both.. and for the most bang for your buck your better off getting the electronics package with the shaker500 and if you want the subs and more power go to Crutchfield.. you can get a lotta more sub/amp wise for the money.. And usually they have some pretty good self contained systems made to fit the car..

    good point.

  8. I've had a '11 GT 500 now for 2 months. Did a 5500 mile road trip plus another 5500 miles around town. On the road at 75 with cruise controll it got consistantely 25 mpg on 93 octane. Here in Colorado we only have 91 octane and highway is 23 to 24 and city is 15 to 18. Not bad for 550 HP fun driving!!! :happy feet:

    wow.
