  1. Yiu guys are killing me.

    :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

Just put the damn oil in it they tell you to and do it when the truck tells you to do it. :finger:

    Jeese..................

Motorcraft synthetic blend 5W-30. You can get it at Ya'll Mart.

  2. Convoy is pure truck

RAIL means some train, some truck

    NADA

The info in that block means nothing. The dealer can find the actual method of shipping and unless you are close (realitve) to the factory that produced your truck, it's highly likely it's going on rail to somewhere and then transported via truck to the dealer.

Mine says Convoy and it's going on a rail car from the KC plant to Virginia Beach and then truck to Fredericksburg.

  3. The only thing I wiold add is that I will take my vehicle to the dealer for scheduled maintenance untill the warranty is up, then go whatever way you think is best. That way the dealer can't deny warranty repair because you took it to jiffy lube during the warranty period.

    Your kidding right????

  4. FYI

If you square off with the lot leach prior to the truck arriving they can get the LineX installed at a discounted price over what you can get yourself and the dealer will have the truck there and back before you get it. Quote to me for my EcoBoost long bed was $468.00 plus tax. Dealer doing it $405.00 and I don't have to mess with it.

  5. I guess think profit margin... I agree, doesn't make sense to have bu sensors and no camera on the Plus package. Seems like an obvious item in the Plus pkg. I wasn't going to get one either, but like Johndeerefarmer mentions, if you are going to hitch a trailer (solo), they are well worth the $$. I added mine on my screw - gladly have that over the Satelite radio receiver - dealer told me that I couldn't remove that - I won't pay for something I get for free so there is $200 I'll never see again...

I have seen the back up camera that shows in the rear view mirror. Kind cheezy so I didn't get one with my XLT order. $450.00 for it. If you bought the Nav then it would display on the screen there which looks to be more useful. It would have been nice for hooking up the boat but I have done it for 30 years without it. No back up sensors. Annoying beeping is not for me. The dumbo mirriors are just like my SuperDuty and that kept me from hitting anything.

  6. Well I ordered mine within the last week.. The sales guy said they still had an allotment and it should be 6-8 weeks. Your posts don't sound encouraging.

Really depends on your truck configuration as to how quickly they get built. But the salesmans lips were moving so he was lying.

  7. Well, the local dealers DO like to sell things at the highest possible markup they can get away with - so I looked it up on the Ford accessories site, using Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake, MN - you're right, the prices are downright reasonable.

BC3Z-19G364-A - $279.91 - Part with installation. This appears to be the factory remote start system, and includes two new keys with the remote start button

BT4Z-19G364-A - $333.30 - Part with installation. This is a keyfob based system, bi-directional with a green light and a beep so you know if the vehicle received the start request

Both kits also might require BL3Z-19G366-A Remote start hood switch - $17.12

Aftermarket kits WILL work - but they interfere with MyKey, and some of the poorer quality designs will actually disable the PATS starter interlock. Ford's remote starters are extremely reasonably priced, I would go with them

Now that's info I can use! Many thanks.

    Mike

  8. Ford customer service said the current wait for Ecoboost trucks is 8-10 weeks, and current incentives are $2,500 off with Ford financing and "Special" finance rates between 2.9% for 36 months and 6.9% for 72 months, or finance it yourself and get $3,500 off.

She also told me that the order is 'in processing' whatever that means with no estimated dates attached to it

That means you have now entered the "black hole' with the rest of us.

    Welcome!

  9. I ordered a 2011 Raptor on 1-24-11 and am puzzled about the ordering process. Some people who ordered 30 days earlier than me are still waiting for their VIN, while others who ordered 2 weeks after me have already received their VIN. Some vehicles get built and delivered in 8-10 weeks, others take 12-20 weeks. Does Ford choose their build decisions based on vehicle make, dealership size, states or different zones in the US? Thanks for any information you might have about this process.

    Unoffical non-Ford response:

You order and give the dealer $500.00 bucks.

Salesman lies about if they actually have an allocation to even order you a truck and says 6-8 weeks no matter what.

Ford accepts order and does not have the lines running to process the trucks, nor do they have enough suppliers to feed the line. Most of them went belly up when automakers filed and got our tax payer support funds. The Tier 1-3's didn't get a bailout.

*I really wanted that Mahindra diesel too!

Production lines start with limited employees based on who they called back. Senority rules of course. Not performanced based.

Parts trickle in and your truck is built.

    End of story.

You can get a seat here on the couch with the rest of us and will watch all of the Star trek reruns until the trucks show up.

    :titanic:

    :hysterical2: :hysterical2: :hysterical2:

I ordered mine on 1/28/11 and don't have a VIN or actual start date yet.

  10. Mikesxpress, there is a Ford factory installed remote starter available with all trim levels except XL, STX and XLT. it's not a cheap option - you can only get it as part of the Luxury or Plus group, which will set you back between $1,000 to $2,000 depending on the model.

They also already have a built in starter lockout called Securilock, this uses the computer chip embedded in the key. If the corect key is not in the ignition, the computer will either lock out the fuel pump or ther starter - in either case, its not going to start.

The only after market starters that will work are the ones you can buy from the Ford dealer - I have already checked two dealers, they are about $565 parts and labor. This is due to the 'regular' style remote starters interfering with the MyKey system.

    I have a follow up question -

If you use the Ford dealer-installed remote start, does it integrate with the 4.2" LCD screen on the instrument cluster?

Someone has to make an aftermarket kit for these trucks besides Audiovox (Ford provided kit)? May just need to wait a little?
