Update to anyone with this problem: I finally received my $500 check today from my dealer (not Ford corporate). I suspect either they messed up by not filing the paperwork when they were supposed to and had to pay me out of their pocket, or it just finally arrived. Something tells me it was the first one and they were just going to ignore it until I said something.

I went to get my windows tinted the other day and was told that I would need a lighter tint than the limit because of the minor reduced VLT of the factory glass. Can anyone confirm this? I'm going to have to register my focus in a few months in NC where the limit is 35%. The tint guy said the factory glass has about 75% VLT so he would need to use something like a 50% tint to stay above the 35% limit (combined VLT = 37% I think). I never hear anyone talk about getting a lighter tint for this reason. Usually it's "I got 35 in front and 20 in the back" etc. He also said that depending on the state (NC specifically) the light scanner used by the police is calibrated to plastic which ends up producing lower (read illegal) VLT on cars. I want to get something that looks good and blocks as much heat as possible but also don't want to redo it in three months when I move to NC. Any words of wisdom? Thanks! For whatever reason he (finance guy) said they don't handle it so he had me sign on the side of the form which treats the rebate as a direct payment to the customer (not rolled into the price). Obviously either he wasn't honest about it or this specific dealer doesn't deal with those. I went into the dealer for another reason and pressed the issue and he said he forwarded my concern to Ford. I really hope this doesn't drag out forever.

The dealer said that the Focus Technology rebate ($500) is handled by Ford (not the dealer) so it would come in the form of a check at some point. I picked up my car a little under a month ago and still haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. Has anyone gotten their rebate yet and can you confirm that's how it actually works?

I know when I picked up my Titanium the plastic cap was still sitting in the glove box, even after the dealer did their detail. I happened to see it and popped it in while he was taking care of something so I bet he never would have noticed it wasn't there. You've probably already checked but if not I would look there.

Has anyone noticed a soft clunking coming from what seems like the rear left side of the car when going over bumps at slow speeds? I checked everything under the trunk tray and the wheel lug torque and everything seemed fine. I can't tell if I'm just being overly sensitive or if there's something that I need to get checked out. I've read about problems similar to this but usually they involve some worn out or broken part which seems very unlikely on a 3 week old car.

I picked up my Red Candy sedan on Saturday! It's a base Titanium besides the paint option. So far so good! (I'm a bit of a noob here, can someone explain how to insert pictures inline with the text? Or, let me know if there's a FAQ somewhere that I missed. Thanks)

Same here. Titanium sedan in red candy metallic ordered February 7th. I called today and he gave me my VIN but no build date. They did have a stock SEL hatch behind the building getting ready for detailing, but he said it was going straight to Enterprise rental.

Has anyone seen pictures of a SEL sedan with standard wheels? I wanted to see how these wheels will look on the total package. I'm thinking of ordering an SEL sedan in red candy metallic with the myFord Touch package this week. Thanks!
