  1. According to Ford, if you are driving with a slight pull for a while (like on a heavily domed road), it 'learns' that, and will compisate on it's own so you don't have to.
  2. They have already been scheduling Retail orders, as long as they don't have MFT. My dealer confirmed that last week, that the only Retail orders they had scheduled up to that point were ones w/o it. My understanding was that a Ok to Buy was issued almost a month ago - but I think it was limited in scope to only non-MFT vehicles (Dealers are already selling them around here).
  3. I think "vehicle order confirmation"
  4. Yeah, at least 2 of them did, at Jack Demmer Ford in Wayne, MI
  5. My understanding is that only the zone manager can do anything below 10. Somebody likes you
  6. And I see you are from the Detroit area (me too), they don't penalize people who use discounts, they expect it around here. I mean most dealers advertise their X or A-plan prices, not MSRP or anything else.
  7. I doubt it's anything that complicated. Some places just enter all there orders at some neutral number, like 14, that way if something comes up that they need to rush (like the dealer screwed up the order), they can place it at a 10 and get it before the line of cars set at 14. Each dealer sets their own policies with the order priorities. What was interesting, is my dealer used to have me set at a 19 when I placed my order in Dec, but then in Jan I decided to make a big change to the order, so they canceled my old one and re-orded. My new order was entered at 10.
  8. Retail orders are given a priority of 10-19, Stock orders get 20 and up. Basically it is the way that dealers indicate what orders they want their cars built in, all things being equal. Lower numbers get built sooner, but it only really matters w/in the dealer, not between dealers (as I understand). Mine is a 10.
  9. Ok, some more data points on grill shutters. I went and saw 12 vehicles at 2 dealers today (in Michigan). All SE and SELs. All Sedans (they were all SE, none had SFE) had shutters No SE 5dr had shutters All SEL 5dr had shutters
  10. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do# confirms that vehicles has no shutters.
  11. There is a report that came through that Ford Corporate has sent a memo to dealers saying that the MFT problem has been fixed, and production of MFT vehicles will resume April 4th. There is no confirmation of this - only the one report so far.
  12. So how is the line going? I've heard elsewhere that they are up to ~1000veh/day so it sounds like you guys are humming along :shades: I just can't wait for them to start scheduling Retail orders with MFT. Must keep telling myself "Good things come to those who wait" and "Patience is a virtue"
  13. Yeah, so far, over at another forum I'm on, nobody has reported seeing on w/o them, which I think is where some of that is coming from. I saw one at my dealer, a SE (w/o SFE) built for Missouri that had it (they were using the car to drag around to some dealers here in MI). And every one people have checked over at http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do has said they have them - but we haven't checked that many. I wish they would just say how they determine it...
  14. No the focus problem is very specific from what I hear, but I can't get more specific
  15. Yeah, I actually thought the same thing, but after seeing how (relatively) small the back is, even folded flat, it's gonna be a tight squeeze to sleep back there anyways
  16. Im also a little interested in the LED tail lights.
  17. I just looked them up over at fordparts.com, they are called "Jack Handle Storage Pad", no 11168. They are sold as either "With 6 Speakers, With 4 Speakers;", or "10 High Series Speakers W/Subwoofer".
  18. I would also note that it is just lifted up with a large foam tray - where one pocket holds the amp. The SE had a shorter foam tray. If you relocated the amp, you could cut away some of the larger tray to lower it, or replace it with a SE tray.
  19. There was a titanium and a SE at my dealer last week. I noticed that the floor in the titanium was about 1-1.5in higher then in the SE. Looking under the mat, it was the amp that needed the extra height - the car had a mini-spare. Maybe it can be even higher with the full size, but I think there was already enough space there. I'm sure it was engineered that way for both reasons, but the car w/o the handling packaga definately had a higher floor than the SE anyways.
  20. Actually, all Titaniums (and probably any config with the Sony sound system) have a higher floor. It makes room for the subwoofer amp as well as the larger spare. If you have the amp but not the handeling package, then there is a tall foam insert over the mini-spare to fill the space.
  21. Modern Fords are generally pretty reliable. I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred, which was a brand new vehicle that year. It has 115k miles on it now, and I have had absolutely no problems with it, other than when it was new it had to go in twice for software updates, but it hasn't been to a dealer or maint shop in 4yrs - 90k miles (I do brakes and oil myself). Ford generally isn't in Honda territory, and I can almost guaranty that there will be at least one recall on the 2012 Focus, that's just how it goes with new vehicles, but I for one am not batting an eye at getting one. As for the Focus historically, it does have repaire rates that are above average, but not out of the realm of normal. Personally I use truedelta.com for stats like this.
  22. I would agree that that is probably a reasonable guess, but I don't think there is any internal or external taget. It could be as short as a ~4wks if they get the problem fixed in the next few days, or who knows how long if it takes them a long time to fix the problem. I should note that the problem with MFT appears to be a minor software bug, but it appears they have had a hard time quashing it.
  23. Best that can be determined, from both reliable sources and 'the internets', Stock orders are being scheduled and built in all configs. Retail (custom) orders with MyFord Touch are not being scheduled at this time. This is because they are having a problem with MFT that is causing most cars (+90%) to fail testing. The Stock orders that are being built are going to dealers if they are the rare units that pass, or being held at the factory if they fail, waiting for a fix. This is why there are very few MFT dealer cars out there, even though they have been being made for well over a month now. The reason they aren't scheduling Retail orders, is that if they did, they would get behind the backlog of 3-5k vehicles at the factory that need fixing. By waiting until the fix is in production, they will be able to ship the car immediately upon creation.
  24. I'm doing the same thing (installing them myself), as they are only ~$100 for all 4. My Ford Five Hundred came with hood film, but I always hated the look of it. Didn't bother removing it, but I'm not adding it to my Focus...
  25. Nav doesnt replace it - it's just an addition. Poor description on build and price.
