  1. Whew! Thanks for the replies. I've had new cars before and never experienced this so it had me concerned for a minute there. Sounds like it is perfectly normal.
  2. Just picked up my car today! Love it. Cloud nine. The car only had 8 miles on it when I took delivery and then I put 8 miles on the drive home. When I pulled in the garage, turned off the vehicle and got out I smelled what I can only describe as a burning oil smell. Like a lawnmower burning smell. I'm hoping that is just normal with a brand new engine putting on the first miles? Anyone think I should be concerned? No lights on the dash or any other indicator saying there was a problem.
  3. Just got the call. Car has arrived! Can't pick it up until Monday as I guess they have service items to perform so it will be a long weekend but wanted to say Thank You. Excited and proud to be buying American again. Well...I guess Canadian but you know what I mean.
  4. 2011. No navigation. The 911 thing makes sense. I read more about and had no idea it did all of that. Also found information on the smart key feature. No idea it could do all that either. I had these experiences with a rental car last week so I don't have access to the owners manual. I'm sure reading that cover to cover will answer many questions but one thing that made the technology cool was I was able to jump in the car and figure most of it out right out of the box. I did have a test drive when I purchased my vehicle so I had some basic idea how it all worked but I love how simple it really is. I was not aware there was an actual set up for Sync that would take samples of voice etc.. I will have to make sure I do the set up of my own car right. Anxiously awaiting my Edge which should arrive sometime next week. But in the meantime if someone knows how to adjust the phone setting to confirm a call that would be great as that was a major problem that I need to avoid day 1 on my new car.
  5. Two questions if anyone knows. 1. Everytime the vehicle turns on it asks if I want 911 assist on/off. I always just hit the off button. What exactly does that feature do and should I be leaving it on. Can you just make a default setting so I don't have to keep seeing that questions. 2. Sync voice command has been pretty good but sometimes it will call someone else in my phone book that I didn't want. It's kind of embarassing to call random people especially at early or late hours. Is there a way to make the setting confrim who I call before it goes ahead and places the call? I know it adds an extra step to make a call but I have to stop making wrong calls.

  11. Check my update above. I was finally able to get the dealer to give me the VIN number. Concerning if you didn't see this scheduled or maybe I did have the wrong dealer number. Hopefully VIN number is easier for you to get information. Thx.
  12. Bump: Actually got the VIN from the dealer. OR so I hope so. 2FMDK4JC4BBA83036 Based on only 1 order showing from the dealer that makes me worried. Do you see this one there? ps..thank you. as a new member and soon to be first time ford buyer im very impressed with you doing this for people. Odered an EDGE SEL AWD - Metallic White / Blk Interior on Dec 21 (not sure when dealer actually placed order). Dealer told me that production is scheduled next week but did not give me a VIN number even though I asked. Could you please find my VIN number and confirm production schedule? Dealer is F13208 Order No is: 0002 That's about all the information I have on my vehicle order confirmation sheet. VIN would be a huge help to track going forward. If not enough info I understand and I will just have to be patient or bug the dealer a little harder. Thanks.
  13. Welcome. I'm with you. I've owned Nissan and Audi's for many years now. Was looking for something a little bigger and the Edge fit the cost/quality equation for me better than the Audi Q5. And the technology on the Edge sold me over the Murano.

    Good point. To their credit I've actually been impressed with Ford's direction the past 12 months which is partly why I have decided to go with them. Hopefully it will be a wise choice. When I purchased my home I did a custom build and I was able to track the entire process from Day 1 all the way to end. I knew exactly what was going on each day in the process. It was awesome. Would be nice if this was the same way. I guess good some people understand and take time to help. They are the few that understand their success can be no higher than happy customers. Many happy customers.
