  1. I have the same issue a low garage ceiling and lower garage doors when they are open. I am able to open the rear liftgate with the garage door open (the car is pulled in - not backed in). My garage is so small I have to have the garage door open to open the hatch because I have only a few inches from my back bumper to the garage door when the door is shut - not enough room for the arc necessary to open the hatch. While outside and clear - open the back hatch and you'll see that it only raises 5 to 6 inches higher than the roof of the car. So if you have that clearance from the roof to the ceiling, you'd be fine. Take it off the power lift and manually open it when checking for clearance the first time and you'll be fine.
  2. I've got a 2011 Limited fwd and it now has about 2100 miles on it. I've had it about a month and am on the first road trip with it. I am plesantly surprise to see an average of 26 mpg on a 1000 mile trip from St Louis to Orlando FL.. This was a manually computed average after running two tanks of gas. I'd say my speed was a constant 70 - 80 mph during the trip. At times I was getting (via the computer) an average of over 27. This was the first trip and the ride was great as was being able to use and enjoy the adaptive cruise control. One thing I did not "trust" was the blind spot detection system when switching lanes. It seems even looking over my shoulder didn't provide me the confidence the area was clear when moving to the left lane - so I plan on adding a blind spot mirror as well.
  3. Thanks for the advice - and yes as you can see in this picture - we do get the snow and ice. Not yet a week but still loving it! (no payments yet )
  4. Mine is less than 24 hours old (with me as the proud owner that is). These pictures were taken last night with my phone so not the best but you get the idea. 2011 Edge Limited with the Bordeau Red and the Sandstone interior. :hyper:
  5. Got it last night! Here's a quick picture with my phone.
  6. Got it - Flickr is not allowed..... Anyway Again thanks Cyberdman
  7. I got the call at 1 pm yesterday! As of 7 pm yesterday, I am a proud owner of a 2011 FORD EDGE Limited! :happy feet: Thanks for the updates and as promised, here is a picture of the car at the dealer right before I left. More pictures will be taken during the day but for now - this is what I have (Camera phone). I want to take it on a trip now The adaptive cruise control is really cool too. Still lots to learn but enjoying it. EDIT: Having difficulty posting the picture. Suggestions or link to instructions?
  8. Bump VIN 2FMDK3KC9BBA85681 Thanks! This should be my next to last post hopefully. Last one will be of the new EDGE Limited (Bordoux Red) and with any luck it will be before this weekend. Been sitting at the rail yard since Sunday. Dealer just says "Isn't here yet....." Will feel better when I own it verses someone offering more $$$$ for it than we negotiated. I know - paranoia setting in.... On a personal note - Cyberdman, I thank you and would love to be able to share a beer with you. :beerchug:
  9. Thanks for the link :shades: Spent a couple of hours reviewing the owners manual yesterday. Fingers crossed that today is the day!
  10. Ordered 18 December and am soooo hoping to get the call today to come and get it. Last I know, it was off the train and released to the transport folks for delivery to the dealer (6 Feb). It's only 40 miles Anyway, have my fingers crossed that today will be the SOLD date and I pick it up. I honestly wish FORD had a way to monitor and track new car orders by the customer instead of having to rely on the dealer info or, in the case of some lucky folks that heard about this site, monitor the progress through Cyberdman. Kudos to Cyberdman as we know he doesn't have to do this - but chooses to. I'd buy the dude a beer if I could :beerchug:
  11. Thanks, My ordered edge is now off the train and awaiting delivery to the dealer (for the last 5 days ). Once they get it - if early enough - they should prep it that day or the next (if not a weekend) so I can pick it up. I didn't think I would be so anxious to get it delivered - and can imagine in a few weeks (when the first payment is due), I'll wonder why I couldn't wait.
