  1. I've had an Edge on order since 5/18/15 and still no build date. Anyone no of any production delays or holds ? The vehicle is a normal equipped SEL with 2.0 engine not with the drive pkg. 51D that I know is not available until 9/15. Help ! Local dealership has no information on delay.

  3. One more reason for ACH Ford workers to move now instead of later. Fact , when there was major employee movement in the 80's the UAW initiated a October 1984 transfer leveling date. A transfered employee would keep their Ford seniority toward retirement and vacation BUT would have a NEW DATE OF ENTERY seniority at the new plant. This date of entery was used for job bids and shift preference at the "new" plant. If two tranferees bid on the same job then their Ford seniority was the tie breaker . The point of all of this was so that the LOCAL UAW could PROTECT their sons or daughters , boyfriends or girlfriends who had less Ford time than the incoming worker. In other words you could transfer in with 20 years seniority but the 8 year local worker has bidding rights over you . Right now there is no transfer date so 1992 seniority ( or whatever ) goes with you. But the Local chairman are getting nervous about the 2000 or so Ford ACH workers that are coming so they'll push for a leveling date for the 2011 contract. GO NOW and keep your seniority for bids etc. or wait until after the contract and transfer in with October 2011 seniority . This is the Truth !
  4. Didn't save my '99 contract highlights, but this message was conveyed loud and clear by the international at the ratification meetings. At that time there was plenty of anxiety at all the Visteon/ACH plants. Tthere was no way the agreement would pass without this provision as well as concerns by Ford over disruption in the flow of critical parts from these plants. Gettlefinger himself visited many of the Visteon plants to ease the tension and assure the members that they would be protected. You may try going to your local hall and locate the past contract information. This is why the buyout was so effective in flushing out the old dogs because they knew what was coming down the road. They took money now while it was offered rather than the one way ticket that was on the way.
  5. You don,t need a crystal ball the 1999 contract protected all Ford workers at Visteon/ACH plants for 3 contracts which will end 2011 . This time frame was used to put the last of the 1977 hires into retirement eligibility (some workers had lost years due to layoffs). After 1977 there was no major hiring until 1992 ( a handfull of new hires in 1986). Now that the old dogs are gone , the UAW and Ford don't have the bad public relation perception that they forced a high seniority worker to relocate. Also , Ford has given numerous oportunities to get relocate . If you can't decide what to do just sit back and wait and let the company decide for you.But now instead of commuting to Cleveland or Avon you 'll have to move on down the road to Louisville, Chicago, Detroit or where ever. Or you can make Ford happy and refuse a job and they can be DONE WITH YOU .

Take control of your own destiny or else the company will make the decission for you . If you have the opportunity to relocate where you want to go than do it ! If not after the next contract the company will TELL YOU where a tier 1 pay job is and you will not have a choice. After the next contract, there will be NO FORD workers in any ACH plants, only the lower payed worker will remain. This is THE TRUTH !!
