Speaking of detailing, how are you guys cleaning the MFT screen? I am thinking about getting a anti-fingerprint and glare for an iPad and cutting it down to fit the MFT, any ideas?

I am in the same boat as SGT. I love my explorer. When I was looking to purchase, I ran the gambit of trucks I looked at and test drove the X5, X6, Highlander, Acadia, MDX (which was the truck I replaced), Q7, Mercedes GL and M, RX350, Touareg, and the Pilot. None of these trucks offered what the Explorer have for the price of the explorer (I have a limited fully fully loaded one in Tuxedo Black) I pre-ordered my explorer before I had a chance to test drive it and once I did, I knew I made the right decision. There are some bugs and glitches with Sync and MyFord Touch, but I was ready for anything that would come up and Ford Corporate and my local dealer have been more than accommodating with all of my issues and concerns, and I know they will be resolved soon (hopefully :shades: ) I drive on average 60 miles round trip from my house to my job and havent really put it through the ringer yet, although it did just snow in the NJ area and the terrain management feature of the truck is AMAZING, I did not slip and slide at all when in the snow mode. Gas is eh, the explorer has a 18.5gallon tank which gives me approx 310 miles till empty with my driving habits where as my '08MDX that the explorer replaced has a 21.5gallon tank and gave me on average 355 miles till empty. If you are looking, get tuxedo black, like SGT says, it is a very sleek color that really sparkles in the sun. EDIT: My wife drove it for the first time today and said it is like driving a tank down the street, I thaught I would share that funny line with everyone

SGT, i havent had a chance to look at the liftgate yet, once the weather in NJ gets better and I take the truck for its first wash, I will take a look at this and see if it is the same as what you are experencing. Back to my other issue I was having, I brought it to the dealer who contacted Ford's engineers and they told them to reinstall using the IDF (I thnk that is the term they used) and all seems to be well. I asked about the 10B20 fix that you were going to do on yours and they said they would not do it because it is only supposed to be run on 2011 Ford Edge's with the MFT. Its been almost 1 week since I got it back, lets hope no more issues, and hopefully soon, there will be a real fix for this issue and not just guessing

Well tomorrow would make a week and guess what..... My explorer is going BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE AGAIN. Now my MFT has decided to reboot 4x in the last week and today on my 45 minute drive home from work, no activity on the screen at all. The LCD cluster in the dash worked fine, but the MFT screen was dead. I turned the car off and back on again and it started to function like nothing ever happened. My truck isnt even 2 weeks old and less than 1 week from being in the shop last time and it is going back... This is SO extremly frustrating.... I just hope the dealer listens this time and a master reset wont fix it, as we can tell from my new issues

I dont want to jinx it, but so far so good and its better than before, but I know it a matter of time before it messes up again. I really hope if it does come to it, it is alot better than those poor guys and gals over on the Edge forums. Thanks for following up for me SGT, hopefully this ends our issues

SGT, I plan on doing that once I get my truck back from the dealer. They gave me a call and said all they needed to do was a master reset, and that fixed the issue according to them. Thanks for the number, that one is going into my phone right now

Wow SGT, i didnt mean to jinx you. Watch the screen over the next few days. That is exactly what happened to me on day 3 (the reboot) then day 4 or 5 is when the 2nd and 3rd pic started to happen. It is happening on every screen though, not just home and the main navigation screen.

I feel the same way being a network engineer, but I have to hope they can fix it. They were impressed with the pictures and videos I took of the problem,. Your not going to get me with a no trouble found diagnosis.. I just noitced your build date 1/11/11, mine was built the same date hopefully you have better luck with yours than I have had so far

I am coming from a fully loaded MDX and the diffrence is night and day..... So I just dropped it off at the dealer and they are going to look at it, they have never seen the issue before and the service director assured me that he would give it 100% of his attention. I will let everyone know what the issue is/was once I know

Do you know if the master reset wipes out all of the addresses stored in the address book? I have the same truck as you (black on black limited fully loaded with the rear seat DVD system) how do you like it so far?

Greetings All, After months of going back and fourth with my dealer on where my pre-order was I finally recevied my '11 Tuxedo Black Limited Explorer, and so far it has been a very good experience, except for a few small quirks I have seen/experienced with MyFord Touch. On Monday, the system reset itself and displayed the following screen for approximaetly 15 minutes; Once that came back up features of the system that didnt work before started to work, like the text messaging feature. The next day I start having issues where in the Navigation system a back arrow next to the compass shows up that says NAV.MAP and when I hit back it will bring me back to the last section I was in. Also on the home page I have the same back arrow with HOME written next to it and when I hit back it refreshes the home screen. It only happens when the car is in motion not parked idleing..... I checked syncmyride.com to see if there are any new updates and the only update is to check to see an image checker. This is what the site is saying is installed in my car; BT4T-14D544-BE Gen2 - V2.4 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 2/9/2011 BT4T-14D544-BE Gen2 - V2.4 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-BE Gen2 - V2.4 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 I dont like the fact taht it is the same image 3x, could this mean that it was flash incorrectly? Any thaughts on what the issue could be? I am hesitant on doing a master reset, I have too many saved addresses in the system, but if I have to I will.
