  1. I have a one hundred total mile commute each day and with normal driving it ads up to about 40,000 miles a year. I might be moving and might have an even longer commute of 140 miles a day which will be ridiculous. I currently have a 2010 Fusion Sport which gets 18 city, 25 highway and with my drive it comes out to 21.5mph overall. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid is 44 highway, 47 city. I usually drive around 80 to get to work. Agressive driving the first 20 miles as I leave the city and then cruise control the rest of the way. What kind of mileage should I expect out of the 2013 Fusion hybrid? I've heard that the actual mileage on the older Fusion hybrid isn't what the EPA numbers are.
  2. Just wondering if you were still getting that kind of mileage now that you have had it for a couple months? I'm thinking about getting the Fusion when they put the 20L ecoboost in the 2013 model.
  3. So the 2.0l ecoboost gets 23 city and 33 highway. I'm guessing combined it'll be 27.
  4. It will still be a lot of development costs to put that engine in the Fusion...probably not worth it considering the Sport model counts for like 5%-10% of Fusion sales. My guess would be the Sport comes back for the mid cycle re-fresh. If the 2.0L matches or beats my current sport and gets like 28mpg overall for example its a pretty compelling package of power, handling and fuel economy.
  5. Just curious, why would ford really come out with a new Sport version if the 2.0L matches the performance of the current Sport? Is there really a market for a 3.7 V6 AWD Fusion for example? I think if I was getting a car for the track I would be more interested in the Focus sport version coming out since its a lot lighter. Also, for example the sport version of the Edge is a couple thousand more than the regular version, so I'm guessing a fully loaded Sport Fusion would cost around $35,000. Thats probably pricing it out of the market and getting into Taurus, Maxima territory... Maybe they will come out with a sport version in a year or two. My guess would be that after spending all that money on the hybrid, the electric version, the two ecoboost engines, and the new design Ford might focus on other products for the next couple of years. Maybe when its re-freshed in 2016 they might resurect the Sport version?
  6. Any guesses what the hybrid 0-60 time and quarter mile time is going to be? I'll confess that my knowledge of hybrids is pretty low, so I was just wondering about the low torque in the 2013 Fusion Hybrid? I think I read somewhere that even though a Hybrid like the Fusion only has 135 lbs of torque the electric motor makes up for it and gives descent acceleration?? Sorry again, don't know too much about hybrids.
  7. Your right, its not a replacement. I've got the 2010 Sport, and getting 20.5 overall bugs me so thats why I was asking. Everyone on here is saying that the 2.0L is pretty peppy and hauls around the Edge to a 0-60 time of around 7.5 seconds, so if it can match the current performance and handling of the Sport and get like 27-28mpg overall I would be very tempted to get it. Now granted since I'm talking about fuel economy I should get the hybrid or the 1.6 Ecoboost, but unfortunately I like going fast
  8. Any guesses as to what the combined fuel economy average for the 2.0L Fusion is going to be? I'm guessing thats the replacement for the Sport model. I looked at the Ford Edge ecoboost with a curb weight of just over 4000 pounds, so with the Fusion 2.0L coming in between 3400-3500 pounds I'm guessing like 27mpg overall? The turbo in the Sonata (even though it sucks) gets 26, so my wild guess would be that Ford would try to beat that by at least one mpg. I have a 2010 Sport FWD and I'm guessing the 2.0l Ecoboost engine will at least match my 3.5 in performance.
