    I agree on both thoughts. The Lane Control would only be useful if you fell asleep. I could see it being quite dangerous if someone swerved into your lane and it fought you trying to avoid them. And that auto parking thing is also pretty useless since there is usually someone behind you that is hurrying you along and wouldn't take kindly the slow setup involved. Auto high beams are great too.

    And all that fuss, just to be able to turn on a light in the daytime that virtual every single other car manufacturer other than Ford has as standard. It boggle the mind. . . . Phill, do you happen to know if in fact the USA "Feet" orders have the DRL module option, or is it Fleet for Canada only? I guess either way the dealers in the DC area and I assume beyond couldn't be any less helpful since they simply can't think out of their little robotic boxed minds. Quite frustrating. This could be so easily done if they would just let you.

    I went in yesterday and after the dealer and a ford rep had a powwow, it was determined that it can't be switched on anymore in the software (and that goes for new Ford models too). So I asked if they could try to order the Fleet Smart Junction Box. The parts manager insisted that that was for Canadian cars only and I politely suggested that I thought that it was also for USA Fleet orders and that I would like them to try to find out if it could be ordered. Reluctantly he said he would check but I haven't heard back. They really don't want to be helpful at all if it is outside the "stock way of doing things" box. I was made to feel like I wanted to order machine gun lights for my car. Just absurd really. I just want to turn on my little cute lights and I am told in no uncertain terms . . . NO! NO, like the soup Nazi from Seinfeld. No lights for me! Kind of pathetic really. I'd like to meet the idiot who made this decision for Ford to remove this function.

    I'll report back after my service appointment tomorrow. I've asked my GM if he can order the "Fleet" Smart Junction Box if necessary and he is checking on that. It's like we are asking for nuclear fusion or something. It's so stupid.

    I'm getting really mad about having to beg, plead and borrow just to turn on these nice lights. I don't see any other modern car company out there right now that doesn't do this by default. From what I can tell, Ford has recently taken the option to program this i to any Ford or Lincoln away with the exception of Fleet vehicles or Canada bound cars. I don't get this logic at all. So my question is how can I order the Fleet vehicle junction box and activate them? They most likely won't let me. I'm pissed about this. It makes no sense.

    The Lincoln parts guy told me it was done through the "diagnosis" menu of their module.

    The override is simply parking lights which turns on too many other lights such as the rear lights, the amber leds. And it has to be done manually each time. Sort of defeats the purpose of "Auto" lights. So not really a good option especially if you are in a hybrid as I would assume all those light on all the time would eat battery. I'm still a little bit hopeful someone will be able to get this programed, but the dealer hasn't responded and I haven't had time to take myu car in for service to give it a try. If anyone does, please post!

    You might try the setting for brightness of the display to turn off "auto" brightness which is in there somewhere. It might help. I have noticed when the sun hits it it's very hard to see at that angle. The "davue" cover protector would probably help.

    Why don't you check the areas inventory on other dealers and if you find something similar, ask them to get it in, or even buy it from the other dealer?

    extra cash incl the "sorry" cash, the $700 Amexco card (instead of the hotel) and the $100 card. Aside from that it was about $3k off the msrp.

    I think it was an idiotic shortcoming personally. It would be 1000 times better to have them on just in the front in daytime. They checked and they can't turn them on without some hardware changes which seem unlikely, and parking lights turns too many lights on, so not a good alternative, and not automatic. Oh well . .

    Remember the regular version of that shield is good with prints but casts a slightly frosted matte look on it, which is most noticeable in direct sun, but not very noticeable in the shade..

    They tried to program one in but as I surmised that section is missing from these cars. So it would need the module replaced with one that has that capability and it sounds like that will either not be allowed by dealers or will be cost prohibitive. They said they would check. I get mad now every time I see an Audi or Lexus etc with those lights. Yes I like Xmas lights.

    Well since I'm not on any of these so called X whatever plans, I wouldn't qualify anyway, but, I really got at least an additional $1500 off anyway, as a pre-order person, the way it worked out, but I do think Lincoln should offer everyone the same rebates period. It's kind of crazy the way it is. If you are going to get an employee discount so be it, but rebates are something else.

    I was just showing the plans that qualify for the rebate. If anyone is on one of these plans call for the rebates. I don't think anyone else can use them. If someone figures out how to get a rebate without any xyz plan, please post. otherwise here is the rebate details below. What it is saying is there is also a rebate if you own an non Ford product and upgrade to a Ford/Lincoln as an incentive. I used that on the Escape a couple months back.     yes as well as some accomodations, but now I want that rebate thing. I think they send those out randomly. I got one in 2011 but not this time around.

    That is a good question. I would think to either Flat Rock, or maybe at this point, for quality inspections (or repairs near the plant). The time offsite shouldn't be too long, but then it's a matter of once it gets back, how long does it sit. It sounds like the wait hasn't improved much unfortunately, contrary to what Ford might like to think or rather spin.
