  1. I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the dealers are taking orders, and are able to send them to Ford. However, the plants are not sending the order confirmations or VINs until December.

That VOC is only a confirmation of the order from the dealer, not the factory. Again, I could be wrong, but I think that is the confusion some folks are having with why some are getting orders in and some are not. We need to clarify where the confirmations are coming from. They're likely coming from the dealer at this point, not the factory.

  2. The supplier can only produce so many headlights and they need a lot to keep the line running. So they may only have an extra 1500 per week. They need to get the backlogged vehicles out of the way so they don't interfere with the new ones and it will be several weeks until all of the vehicles have their headlights replaced. Since they have space and trained certified workers available in Flat Rock it solves 2 problems at once.

I agree! I suppose i was thinking that they could likely find space closer to the MX plant, but I realized that they wouldn't have guys in a golf cart going from car to car in the huge lot just installing the lights. They'd need to run them though the plant. Obviously I'm guilty of not thinking straight because I'm too eager to get the order right away! ...patience, grasshopper...

  3. If it is something as simple as headlights, and Flatrock has them, why don't they just ship the headlights to MX for installation so that the cars can be shipped to the dealers from there, rather than ship the cars halfway across the continent, then ship to the dealers from there. If the cars are being shipped to Flatrock just for headlights, it seems like a terrible waste of time, resources, and money. Again, that's if Flatrock does in fact have headlights....

I don't ship my refrigerator to the store to put food in it. I bring the food to the fridge!

  4. I know! And if I were not already stretching my budget to get what I'm getting, I'd be doing it. But I can't justify putting off tests for the dog just 'cause I'm saving money for this car. Wish it were otherwise, but my dog is more important to me!

Well, I certainly can't disagree with that! I would do the same. Hope your dog is ok.

  5. My sales guy got back to me with an added $1800 to upgrade to Titanium. NOT worth it, so I'll be going with the SE. I might be tempted, but one of my dogs is sick and I have a feeling I'm going to need that extra money to get testing for him.

I think the price increase is definitely worth it! There are some upgrades you can't get by building up the SE. The upgrades for that price include the 12 speaker Sony stereo, the remote start & intelligent key (with push button start), the cool looking dual exhausts, all-LED tail lights, ambient interior lighting, rear deck spoiler, chrome door handles... i may be missing a few. None of these are even an option with the SE. (except the spoiler, but that's only with the appearance package, not the luxury with leather)

  6. I drove both the titanium and the hybrid SE. Unfortunately, the version of the hybrid I drove was very base model with no upgrades, so the difference between that and the titanium was big. I have not driven a Hybrid with even the luxury package. The upgrades don't really have a lot to do with the "drivability" anyway.

So, with that said, of course the Titanium was very fun. There was ample power, and handled wonderfully. When stomping on the gas, there is a bit of a delay before the power actually comes. Some drivers don't like that.

The Hybrid was very smooth, with the CVT. (yes, it is FWD only) The power is merely adequate, nothing too exciting. It handled not quite as well as the Titanium, but still impressively for a Hybrid. The braking is a little different because of the energy recovery system, but by no means is it bad.

That said, I have just ordered the Hybrid Titanium with all the add-ons. The great fuel efficiency outweighed the power for me, since most of my driving is heavy traffic. I have had vehicles with plenty of power in the past, so it will be an adjustment.

Before most of you ask, I've only ordered the Hybrid Titanium from the dealer, who cannot get a ROV until December. (they do have the order codes) They can't order from Ford just yet. I'm just toward the front of the line when it is available for order from the factory.
