  1. Actually, I've had capacitive in my previous car. Yes, I had accidental presses occasionally, but it wasn't too bad. The hard presses are annoying! I'd take occasional oops over always annoying any day. My previous car's navigation could be used while the car was in motion too... I miss that!
  2. I've had my car for about 5 weeks, and I've used the parking assist about 10 times already. It is really cool. The only times it's had trouble is when the curb is too low, or if there is a shrub on the curb, and it can't sense the curb too well. It just comes in too steep and hits the curb a bit. No biggie. You just control the gas and the brake, and follow the directions for when to put it in P or R.
  3. I'd like to see the trunk lid open a bit more. It doesn't give much clearance for noggins when trying to load the trunk. I'd also like the touch screen to be capacitive, instead of resistive. The touch has to be much too firm for my tastes, leaving heavier finger smudges than necessary. Also, a capacitive screen would allow for multi touch, making the navigation zoom much easier. (you could pinch the screen like your phone)
  4. is anyone else noticing this? When I'm sitting centered in my seat, looking at the speedo, screens, etc. The steering wheel seems to be a little to the left. To look at the right info screen fully, I have to lean to the left a little. It feels like I have to reach slightly to the left of my body to hold the wheel. It could be just me... maybe I'm crooked.
  5. I also agree. I suppose it's smooth, and "leather-like", but it does not seem like real leather. I've had much better leather in several of my previous vehicles. It does feel ok, and I'm not too upset about it, but it's certainly not the nicest I've had.

  7. In our case, the rail system is on Union Pacific (UP) until Colton, CA. At that point, it's placed in "interchange", meaning that it's transferred to another system and engine. In this case, it's BNSF. CSX apparently tracks it all the way through (the 2352 phone number). That's why UP (the 5123 phone number) only shows it to be "delivered in interchange" in Colton. From their perspective, it's delivered to where they were supposed to deliver it, where it was taken by BNSF. Unfortunately, BNSF doesn't have a public tracking system, so we have to rely on CSX, which is independent of the others. I'm in a similar boat. UP only says it was delivered to Colton, then my railcar was "bad ordered" (malfunctioned) for two weeks. The last update I have from CSX is that it's be "released from bad order", but still in Barstow, CA. My dealer, who has an account with BNSF, says that the car is now in Klamath Falls, OR. UP says the car is empty! I hope the railcar is not as lost as I am! BTW, if you look at the BNSF rail map, http://map.friendsofbnsf.com/railways you'll see that the railway actualy goes up to Wishram, WA, then comes back to Vancouver, before going back down into Oregon. It's almost there!
  8. Hopefully you don't go through the same thing. My railcar was "bad ordered" meaning that it was damaged, or just not working right. It apparently just got fixed last night after two weeks, so it should be moving again soon. Man oh man! I ordered my car on October 29, 2012. Some are getting their car in 6 weeks. It's taking 6 MONTHS for me. ---Serenity now...
  9. Hope it's moving now... Thank you, Cyberdman! 2013 Fusion - VIN 3FA6P0RU9DR282291
  10. Wow, lucky you! My car was built on March 26, and it's been sitting in the railyard in CA for two weeks! Still another week or two before it makes it to Seattle, I'm sure.
  11. I'm happy for all you guys getting your cars! For those who are still waiting on your Ruby Reds, things could be worse! I ordered mine October 29, and it's been stuck in Barstow, CA for more than a week with a "conveyance mechanical failure" The car with a VIN exactly one digit less than mine is already in Seattle. Sucks to know it's produced and just waiting on Railroad guys to fix a railcar.. hurry up!!!

  13. Wow, that's great! In almost two weeks, my car has only made it to L.A. I hope it doesn't take another two to get to Seattle. I don't think Ford likes Seattle. Last on the list for build dates, (ordered my car in October), no $750 coupon, slow train.... *sigh*
  14. Yep, I just spoke with Ford Customer Care, and they said that it's based on market research of areas. They also said that they couldn't "order" the coupon for anyone.
  15. I'm in the same boat, uh... train. No one here seems to know how to track via BNSF. According to CSX, my railcar is stuck in Barstow, CA as "Bad Ordered". I called BNSF, and they couldn't tell me anything. Ford Chat says the ETA is now TBD. I called Ford Customer Care, and they say the ETA is now 4/25. However, I called the dealership, and they apparently have better access to BNSF tracking because they show an ETA of 4/14 to Kent, WA. (this is apparently the ETA listed by BNSF!) It takes 2-3 days to get the cars sorted, onto trucks, and delivered to the dealership. My dealer rocks! I'm giving a shoutout to Evergreen Ford of Issaquah, WA. Thanks, guys!
  16. Does anyone know a way to track railcars through BNSF instead of CSX or UP? My shipment has gone to BNSF, and it's been "bad ordered" My ETA has gone to TBD, with my car stuck in Barstow CA. ugh!
  17. Which is interesting, because HID conversion kits are illegal in some states. I believe the reasoning is the need for a ballast, which is apparently too much of a difference from the safe stock Halogen. Also, apparently the HIDs are too bright, causing too much glare for oncoming drivers. It could be that Ford doesn't want the hassle with varying state laws.

  19. I looked at the build details on etis for my car. It lists the tires as: Normal Rolling Resistant Tyre Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm no tire expert, but "Normal" does not equal "Low"
  20. yep, I have that very same screen and layout. I don't get the $750 rebate. I've requested the brochure about 5 times, received one, but never received the rebate in the brochure, either. I guess I just don't qualify for it at all! They mention that it is dependent on region, so I guess Seattle doesn't get them? Sheesh.
  21. Does anyone have any pics or a description of how they routed the charger cable? Has anyone managed to hide the cable in any way, or is it just laying on top of the console?
  22. I sure hope so! It's odd that Cyberdman showed an ETA, even though it's not actually on a train yet. I guess they're optimistic that a train will be available very soon.
  23. I'm trying to figure out why SeaHyTi's car got on a train, and mine didn't... Our were made on the same day, and getting shipped to the same city! Cyberdman says mine is awaiting shipment, but has an ETA of 4/18.... hmmm.
  24. Thank you, Cyberdman! 2013 Fusion - VIN 3FA6P0RU9DR282291
  25. Yep, looks like we 3/25 guys are getting stickers now.
