  1. Do you know the part numbers of what you ordered? I have the aluminum pedals and illuminated door sill plates waiting to go on the car. I haven't been able to find the part numbers I would need to order for a dual exhaust conversion. I'm not sure if the numbers you gave earlier where what went in the final order or not. I'd still have to talk to the dealer and see if they were willing to take on the job.

    DS7Z-17K922-CA,

    DS7Z-17810-DAPTM,

    DS7Z-17F827-B,

    DS7Z-17F827-A

    Hope this helps.

  2. Installed aluminum pedal covers and ordered parts for the integrated tailpipes($879) on 4/10/13 the day I received my HyTi. The bumper cover was backordered until 5/06/13, I then had the bumper covers painted ,the cost to do that was the most annoying expense $334 (White Platinum Tri-Coat Metallic). installed parts myself and paid muffer shop $35 to adjust the old tail pipe

to properly fit inset tailpipe. All done including new 18' wheels and illuminated door sills 5/14/13.

  3. If you do the math to compare the tires used (215/60R16 vs 235/45R18), you'll find that the outside diameter of the 16" OE tires is 0.17" smaller than the 18" OE tire (26.16" vs 26.33"). While this is slightly different, it's pretty much negligible - if you were going 65mph with the 16", you'd be doing 65.42mph on the 18".

Of course these are ideal unloaded calculations - this will differ depending on inflation, load on the tire, etc. I'm not surprised that you found a difference between two cars sitting on the lot next to each other.

I found a difference of about 1" in the height of the tires not the just car its self

  4. Nope, definitely not. Different sidewall heights or widths can be used on the same size wheel/tire combo, though. Tire width will depend on the width of the wheel, of course, and sidewall height will depend on the wheel well it'll be mounted in.

akirby just meant that from the factory, the outer diameter of the tires used on any Fusion wheels (16"/17"/18"/19") will match regardless of the wheel size, because Ford has picked the right size tire to make that happen. Smaller wheels get taller sidewalls on the tires, while larger wheels have lower sidewalls.

This should be true, but I measured the height of the factory 16" wheel/tire combo and it is shorter than the factory18" wheel/tire combo for two cars that were parked together on dealer lot.

  5. I was very upset when I found out my 2013 Fusion Energi Titanium was not going to have the Dual Integrated Tailpipes like the Gas Titaniums. To me, that was the mark of the higher end Fusion Titanium (If you agree, please comment/Like my Ford post - http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/technologies/personalization/dual-integrated-tailpipes-for-the-2013-ford-fusion-hybrid-titanium-and-energi-titanium/)

So besides telling Ford, I am looking at changing my Energi's rear end. I have been talking with my Dealer's Service center. We think that we can change out the current Energi rear for the gas 2.0l rear. It would still only have one working tailpipe, but it would look like a dual. From best we can tell at this point, there are two parts (17810 and 17K922 [may need 17F827], costing just over $500) on the Fusion gas that are different from the Energi. Here is the image from the part catalog (in PDF and jpg):

I am going to meet again with the Service department and with the body shop and my salesman later next week to really scope this out. I am not sure what it will really cost, but if all of the parts fit, it should be a simple change. Even on the gas version, the exhaust pipes just butt up to the opening in the "integrated" holes in the bumper, so the Energi would just have one pipe, but still to openings.

I'll let you know what I find out. Anyone else do/looked at this?

    You will also need :

    17F827-B ($200)

    17F827-A ($200)

Paint to match car needed for 17810 ($200-$300)

labor to install plus mod the original tail pipe to fit.($?)

  6. There is no such thing as "locking in" rebates. All we have to do is print the current incentives at the time of order, along with proof of the order date.

Then, at delivery if the incentives went down, we just scan and upload the 2 documents to Ford, and they give us a program # and cert# to claim the rebates.

VIN #'s have nothing to do with it, VIN or no VIN we do not need that. You are completely safe from losing rebates, its really easy for a Dealer to claim!

Yes that sounds right for the $500 pubic rebates but the $750 Private Offer seem more complicated, because some people received them after the time of order but the rebate may expire before delivery.

  7. Maybe that's part of the $100 MSRP drop.

When I test drove the Hyti 2weeks ago I told my salesman that the brite pedals covers were missing, he called me last week and said he recieved a email from ford stating that the pedals covers are no longer included and that the cost of the car is reduced $100 to compensate.

  8. Techtoys, you looked into getting the Dual Integrated pipes added on? Did they says they could do it? $1200 include labor?

No that is the cost of parts ($879) +$275 for paint to match and me doing the labor. But I still would have to pay a muffer shop to cut off the old tip and raise the tail pipe up.

  9. Techtoys I just realized our ordered Fusions are exactly the same!!

Yep you have good taste. I got everything except Active park assist. I may add back the dual inset exhaust (cosmetic only- parts $1200) what a rip

  10. post-49336-0-83277400-1361836294_thumb.jpgNo longer complete vaporware. I actually test drove a Hybrid Titanium at my Ford dealer today. Apparently one of three in the USA. What is amazing is now fast it got here, my salesman told the VIN# as soon as he knew about it on 2-04-13, it was built on 2-09-13 and arrived 2-22-13, I drove it 2-25-13.

Good news and bad news. The good news is that it has the good Titanium LED tail lites, fit and finish was good. Bad news it is missing the aluminum gas/brake pedals and the Hybrid badge on rear, hopelly left off by mistake because it was the first one. and of course it has single exhaust but we already knew that.
