So who, exactly, should this tax on "atmospheric carrying capacity" usage be paid to? The government, just because? France? China? Japan? Some higher power? Shoot the tax money into space? Me?

 

Why would you say just because? I am pretty sure it is the government that will deal with the side effects of high CO2 levels. The $50B Sandy relief bill came from the government. Storms are becoming more frequent whether you believe they are related to CO2 or not, and they will cost $$.

 

As was mentioned above, if you want to create a private solution then carbon tax would have to be considered.

First post for me. Ordered a Ruby Red Hybrid Titanium a few weeks ago. Maybe I can make you guys feel a bit better about this ridiculous order time. In 2008 I placed an order for a 2009 VW Sportwagen TDI. I put $500 down. I got the car 15 months later. Hopefully Ford can do better than that ;-)

The only thing that sounds a little weird is they should be able to lock in that $1500 incentive now. That way you're guaranteed at least that if incentives are the same or worse when you pick up the car. If there's something better going on at the time, you'll get that instead.

 

That's what my (second) dealer told me, anyway, when I ordered mine X-Plan a few weeks ago. I can't imagine it'd be any different for the Energi?
