  1. Just a heads up for anyone that wants a cheap spare or set, Tire Rack is blowing out the original Goodyear LS2 tires for $102 each right now... just saw when trying to determine the worth of my spare set of wheels and tires... Congrats to all those on the delivery train and thanks for the rim comments... it's all good and I am averaging 38+ MPG... not bad...wife with heavy commuter highway foot, Boston traffic and other odds and ends travel... I can get all the way to my office on electric power only... it's only a mile and a half, but its COOL!
  2. One Ruby Red Hybrid Titanium delivered to me in NH... let my wife drive it home to pick up my 4 and 8 year old.... jacked it up and put the new wheels on before I even drove it.... (BTW, wait'll you girls and boys see how much fun it is to put a floor jack under it ;-( ) Pictures to follow... thanks for the support and fun...
  3. Pre-delivery... almost too hideous to look at... that's a lot of dust. ALSO, my car has a sticker on it that says it was picked at random off the assembly line for testing and it has 28 miles on it.....
  4. ... and besides... THE CAR IS HERE... covered with dust from Mexico and God only knows how many states... should take delivery tomorrow or Weds. AM. 12 weeks to the DAY.
  5. I'm a local Realtor / Soccer Coach / and have kids in school in a town of about 15,000 people... need to keep my nose clean... and reputation in tact... that having been said, today marks 12 weeks of the 8-12 weeks estimated for delivery so tough to bitch too much....
  6. My Ruby Baby is in Ayer, MA waiting for an autotransporter... credit to my dealer who actually called dispatch to see if he can get it loaded on a truck (although I think he's looking to close before the end of the month), He said it could be here as early as tonight... so, likely this week anyway. I'll post before and after pictures when its delivered and when the new wheels are put on... at my house immediately since I live almost exactly a mile from the dealership... and its hard not to keep looking out the window since my office is 300 yards from the dealership ;-) Fastronaut's car and mine left Mexico within hours of each other's with his going to Maryland and mine going to NH. It will be fun to see who's car gets to the dealer first.
  7. Wrong... my car blew through Selkirk and was delivered to an interchange in Mechanicsville, NY... still on the move? ... or ... ?
  8. Cool....Your car was either on the same train as mine or mine was just ahead of yours... my car was in Bufbision yesterday (ETTX701214) and left Binghamton, NY at 4:30 this morning. I think my Ruby Red is on its way to Selkirk (maybe further but not sure) for eventual trucking to New Hampshire. My wheels are due to arrive from Tire Rack today so that will give me enough time to wax 'em up before install. BTW: My ride was finished at the factory 4/16, so I have to say, I'm pretty impressed that 11 days later it's waiting for final trucking to NH....
  9. Yeah, I'm all about giving away new sets of rims and tires complete with sensors...
  10. ... holy Schmidt... my car already left Roanoke, IN about an hour ago and I'm pretty sure it's final destination is Selkirk, NY which has a pretty big parking next to the railhead... if you've got a car headed to Massachusetts or northern New England like mine you can google map and satellite view your car's likely first parking lot... google map Selkirk and the rail and parking lot will show in the upper left hand corner...
  11. Hmmm, not sure where you got that photo, but those are definitely NOT the Hybrid Titanium factory rims.... although they are equally ugly.... ;-)
  12. Well, my Ruby Red is chugging along... manufactured 4/16 and one week later she left Clark, Missouri at about 8PM tonight... making some good steam so far.....
  13. That's a good question. It likely comes down to availability and price. I expect my HyTi to be delivered in the next couple of weeks and I dislike the looks of the wheels so much that I have already ordered 17 inch aftermarket rims with Michelin Energy LRR tires. Given that even the 17's are fitted with a fairly low profile 50 series tire I'm good with my decision. There will certainly be a loss of grip with the Mich Energy but this isn't a race car and I'm sure the handling and grip will remain competent and compliant. I will also save some cash every time I need to buy tires and I will offset the cost of the new rims and tires by selling the 18's that came with the car as new take-offs complete with sensors. Ideally, I'd love to find a Fusion or Fusion Hybrid owner that would like to trade their factory 17's for my factory 18's so that I can use their 17's for snow tires. I'm usually not that hung up on looks and its a personal choice/observation but I just REALLY do not like the Ford factory 18's that the HyTi's are coming equipped with.
  14. Hmmm, I thought you could only get those kind of numbers with a 600 CFM Holley, but if "Holy" works for you certainly God himself is on your side.... you're right, I can't beat that, but I got a little blown 2.3L staion wagon that will do sub 15's without breathing hard and with a big dog laying down in the back comfortably. I have a real job, what's your excuse Honey? Oh, sorry, you asked a question. You were the one that veered miserably off topic and started giving dangerous advice. I only sought to point out the obvious, but you are oblivious.
  15. I've been teaching high performance driving to students for well over a decade at tracks like Watkins Glen, Mont Tremblant, Lime Rock Park, Elkhart Lake, etc. I've been running and teaching winter driving schools for over 15 years and regularly donate my time energy and money to teach kids how to be safer drivers. I've owned everything from GTO Judge's to Rabbit Diesels to Fiat 128SL's and so on. I commuted in Boston traffic 100 miles daily for almost 15 years and to this day remain accident and ticket free at age 50. I've driven in all 50 states and by the mercy of Gawd almighty I don't think I have managed to suffer the kind of arrogance of your kind of hypermiling as yet. You are not only dangerous to yourself, you are dangerous to others. I am relieved to know that your "being stupid" doesn't mean the rest of us have to be. Thanks for setting me straight.
  16. Setting a new standard...? They finished my car on Tuesday, and it crossed into the US by rail this afternoon.... 4 days or less from built to Texas...still headed to NH....
  17. Well, my car is headed north through the Mexican countryside.....
  18. If the car being delivered can be had for the same price... take it IMHO... what has the original dealer done to deserve your loyalty?
  19. Build date confirmed through ETIS this morning on my Ruby Red 3FA6P0RU5DR301449 = April 16, 2013... no ETA as yet.... Wheels (American Racing 17's / Model AR896) due 05/03 ;-) I have little doubt this car will be delivered when I am at the Mecum Auction and Indy Time Trials, May 16-19th... just because....
  20. Thanks for setting me straight gents. Dealer just confirmed it was built last week, perhaps finished yesterday... sitting on Ramp 54 awaiting shipment as of 2:42pm eastern time today... no ETA available... at leas that's what I'm told......
  21. Unless my car is a Transit Connect... that has never worked for me... and came up with the same thing just now.... am I missing something?
  22. Well, well, well, f*ing well.... it appears my Ruby Red HyTi is awaiting shipment... couldn't get a "BUILT" date from Ford Customer Service but I am going over to my dealer now to beat them about the head and neck to find out when it was built... you know, for grins and giggles. Wheels and tires are ordered, Weathertech mats sitting in my hallway... ready to go.... My poor dealer is about 300 yards from my office.... and I'm a Realtor who puts up signs, so I ALWAYS have a rubber mallet in the Flex.... you know, for beatings without scratches..... ;-)
