TY. I don't want to bother anybody. I received an update today. No change awaiting shipment-at plant-eta of tbd. My car was ordered May 9. Built 7/19. I have recently learned, this hybrid update is for vehicles made before 7/8. So it will be built into mine. I understand your concern about a non reversible update. I trust Ford enough to order a car. I will trust them to update it. From what I understand, Ford is going to be making updates like this a more regular occurrence, across the whole line.

It's not that I am unhappy, really. Sorry, just venting I guess. It's more like I would just rather have a better way to find out information. I don't place that solely on the dealer. Ford should give dealers advanced notice of such things, before the press release goes out. I have since figured out that the hybrid FE update is in my car. I have learned that the update is for cars prior to 7/8. I learned this from a C max forum where someone posted the text of the bulletin. Plus it does not show up on Etis, others are seeing it for their C max. I even got the vin from the window sticker off a dealer lot of a C max built 1 month before mine. The PCM update appears for that car. So I have concluded, hopefully correct, it is built into mine. I also received a status update today showing no change since the 21st. Still awaiting shipment, ETA=TBD. No idea why, no idea when we'll get it, no idea how to find out. I don't blame the dealer for this at all. Ford needs a tracking system for customers.

I have the sunroof. It was just built on 7/19. I am awaiting shipment. Just wish I could track it.

I don't really blame the dealer for not knowing. But I would think that Ford would have given advance notice of it in the field, before just dropping a bomb.

I am trying to find out if this was built into our car, when it was built on 7/19. I have heard from one Ford rep person that yes, it should be. I have heard from another that they didn't know, and to ask the dealer. Ford service twitter also told me to ask the dealer. I sent the dealer, sales manager, an email on Friday to ask him. He said he had no idea about the update. Even though it had been in the news for a couple days prior. Said he would check with service manager and get back to me, still no answer. I asked Ford service twitter again yesterday, they said to ask the dealer. They said the dealer would have the most up to date info. I explained to Ford service twitter, a few times, that my dealer has told me they know nothing of this update. I told the twitter person that my info is more up to date than the dealers, and all I have done is read it in the news. So as of now I don't know if it will have the update or not, and neither does anybody at Ford.

Still waiting for our car. It was built 7/19, had an ETA of 8/11. Last I heard yesterday, the date was changed on Monday to TBD. Nobody knows why. I have no idea where my car is today. I sent my dealer an email Friday, asking about the hybrid FE update, if it would be built into our car. He knew nothing of it, said he would check on it, still have no answer to that question. Really not a good experience ordering a car. I am at the mercy of the busy sales manager at the dealer, who would rather sell more cars to others then check on mine, I am sure.

100% agreed!! I too get the feeling from the dealer that I am a bother, if I call or show up. I have gone to emails, and get a response(mostly) pretty quick. We ordered a Cmax on may 9th. We were told 8 weeks to delivery. Here it is past 8 weeks and it has an ETA of 8/15. The window sticker says it was supposed to be built on 7/18. I cannot find out if it was.

Thanks! Well, it was supposed to be built on Thursday. I cannot verify that it was. On the Ford owner site, as of early Friday morning, it shows the option to activate sync. Etis site still has no changes since I got the vin. Years ago, before it was as automated at it is now? That fear is probably well grounded. I have never ordered before, and was unaware of that concern. After reading your post, it seems I think I vaguely remember hearing that as a very young man. But hell, I have forgotten more than I ever knew.

I hope it's a good day at the plant, and everybody is happy today. Our Maximal is to be built today! :happy feet:
