  1. Sounds way too early and way too expensive to me.

Yeah, it does sound too early. But if I could see any damage myself, such as fraying, cracking, or extra hard and shiny spots, I would go ahead and have it changed out, because I would rather pay a bit of extra money instead of risking having a complete breakdown like that.

  2. ... For my side and rear windows, I'm doing the same as I did for my C-Max, cut pieces of that silver bubble insulation to fit and press them in place. A couple of small pieces of Velcro at the top holds the rear window piece in place and the sides, pressed in, stand on their own and can be flipped over to fit the other side.

That sounds like a really good idea. Do you have any photos you can share of the installation of the insulation you have put on your rear and side windows?

  3. The order guides are available (click on Order guides at the top) and it says ANC is only available on the Sport and Hybrid models. Not on the Titanium or Platinum models. Strange. Maybe they want you to upgrade to a MKZ to get that.

The Sport and Hybrid engines probably produce more engine noise than the other models is probably why Ford feels they need the ANC and the others don't.

  4. That's a good sign. A VIN means it's been scheduled and the sticker should be available on or just before the actual build day.

    ...

From what I've seen, the window sticker, at least on Fusions built in Mexico, typically becomes available just about exactly a week before the scheduled build date.

  5. Looks kind of close to the gingerale color offered on the '13.

I still think the White Gold image shown above, and also similar in the Fusion Build&Order tool at ford.com, is showing up darker than it will in person.

It might even be really close to the Tectonic color which had been previously offered on the Fusions.

  6. There are many discussions ongoing and archived at the Fusion Hybrid (FFH) forum which can answer all of your questions listed above, and many more too.

There is one such discussion happening right now which should interest you (link below), since some of us have listed out our reasons for choosing the FFH over the other hybrids.

BTW, the link to the FFH forum is listed in the very top bar at the top of every page on this forum.

  7. I noticed a lot of fingerprints after I first installed my Nushield. I was quite disappointed.

But then after one or two cleanings with some touchscreen cleaning fluid, I haven't noticed any fingerprint smears in months. I almost think the finger oils and/or cleaning fluid needed to permeate the Nushield screen protector to make the fingerprints not show up as much now.

So now I have good-sized barely-used bottle of cleaning fluid riding around in the car with me, for no apparent reason at all now. :)

  8. My 2014 Fusion Hybrid came from the factory with a similar defect to what the OP posted in the first photo above, where the right rear fender meets the bumper panel. It looked like there was a small paint blob drip-type of bump at that point, and then that dried paint bump got pinched when the two panels were cinched together, causing the paint blob to get squeezed out and eventually peel off.

Since I have had some occasional bad experiences with the quality of body shop work in the past, I opted to just spring for the color-coordinated touch-up paint from the dealer to cover the tiny black spot where the primer was showing through after the paint blob had peeled off. That was enough to make the spot of paint damage not so noticeable for me.

  9. Why should our choice of safety options be dependent on us opting to get leather seats? If we don't want leather, whether for comfort, ethical, or other reasons, the Fusion options do not allow us to be anywhere as safe as we possibly can.

If we don't opt for the leather seats, we are not allowed to have any of this long list of vital safety features:

    1) Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning

    2) Active Park Assist with Forward Sensing System

    3) Lane-departure Warning with Lane-keeping System & Driver Monitoring

    4) Auto High Beams

    5) Rain-Sensing Wipers

    6) Auto-dimming Driver Side Exterior Mirror

    7) Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror

    8) BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-traffic Alert

  10. The shipping time seems to depend on many different variables, such as possibly having to wait for a train car or truck to fill up with autos before the next transport step even starts.

My FFH took 13 days (basically 2 weeks) to be shipped to my AZ dealer from Mexico, and it is only a 5 hour drive by car between those two spots. :headscratch:

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any tracking details during that 2 weeks, so I have no clue where the hold-up occurred.
