  1. I believe Ford Van Dyke is a Transmission Plant...............
  2. I have heard on and off the National Parts would close. This has been going on for years. Just yesterday someone from National told me it was a done deal and they would close at end of year. Anyone hear anything about this...............? Their trades are down to bear minimum, I millwright, 1 welder, no machine repair, no electricians.............
  3. There are a few buy-outs at Brownstown right now, although I don't know if production ,and /or trade. Just know machine repair is involved. If Ford would "paper transfer" people to different building for a buy-out I'm sue they could fill all the buy-outs that have not been use. I would be first in-line to go.
  4. That's what I'm looking for. Sure would like to know.
  5. Well, the buyouts came and went. June 16th last day to sign up.They were at Flat Rock, Woodhaven Stamping, The Rouge area and Michigan Ass. Plant......... Skilled Trades. Sure wish they would have come to my plant. Buyouts still out there.
  6. Rumors around here that buy-outs may be coming in June............. Anyone here that in their plants?
  7. So, buyouts are going on right now at Rawsonville. I remember, in the last buyout you could transfer, on paper, to the building offering the buyout, and retire. With the buyout. Of course, the building would have to agree, if for no other reason, they didn't have enough people that wanted to go. Just wondering...........
  8. I believe they will, we haven't had a raise in 10 years and they want us to make up for "their" shortfall by raising our dues to 2.5 hours. So that's another "cut". And if they sell it right, you would get a bonus, maybe for a couple years, to take a cut in pay so The Auto Industry could make more money and YOU would also get a BIGGER profit sharing check. I can here it now, "It will be for the good of the company AND the people that work for it" Oh ya.............. Here it comes.
  9. This is how I think it will go...........When bargaining starts, I believe there will be a "buy-down. It will go something like this: They will offer tier one x-amount of dollars to take a pay cut. Lets say they offer them $20,000 for a $2.00 an hour cut in pay............. Next they will give a $1 raise to tier two people. This way they have closed the gap between the to by $3, and lowered the hourly rate. Tier one, those old enough to go will retire with some extra cash, they will vote for the contract, and tier two will vote for it to get a raise.......... Contract passes and everyone "loves it".................. Ya right.
  10. At this point I would take a buyout right now. Have heard nothing but rumors. If there are any, and I can get one, "I'm gone". If anyone here's anything, PLEASE, let me know..............
