  1. First post for me. I bought a 2014 Fusion Titanium about a month ago, a previous rental with about 16K miles on it. I am coming from a 95 Taurus which treated me very well, but age and mileage were creeping up on it, and I was ready for something new with a warranty. The Fusion is a good car, I'm not sure that I love it. Impressions so far: Likes: 1) It is the best looking midsize sedan on sale today, no question. Everything else in this category looks positively frumpy compared to it. In fact, I probably would've preferred the size and feel of the new Taurus, but the styling was a no-go for me. Same reason, incidentally, that I bought a used 95 Taurus in 96 instead of a new 96! 2) Plenty of power from the Ecoboost 2.0. 3) The options on this compared to my old ride are spoiling me - the leather seats, back-up camera, remote key fob, bluetooth/voice activated calling, heated seats, one-touch up and down on all four windows. And the fold down back seats which allow me to stash my bike in there slightly more easily than in the back seat of my old (larger) car. Dislikes: 1) The front passenger seat doesn't adjust up and down and is mounted really low. I always have to drive because I can't stand sitting that low to the ground. 2) The trunk lid doesn't stay solidly up when open. It lazily falls down to partially closed. I tried the trunk on another 2014 Fusion to see if it was the same. There was a slight difference - the other car definitely had a detent that would catch the trunk on its way down, but even that wasn't great. Doesn't seem like a very good design, but I'm on dealership visit #3 to try to get it fixed so it doesn't chop off my head. 3) Transmission has a rough 2nd to 3rd upshift and the downshift to 1st can be slow. Between that and my getting used to the turbo and new-car brakes, the whole thing is pretty herky-jerky compared to my old Taurus. Like I'm learning to drive a manual again. 4) Last thing. Maybe I'm getting old, but simple dials for adjusting temp, fan speed, and radio tuning seem a lot faster and safer than hitting a little button multiple times and watching tiny bars on the display. I'm jealous of the Fusion S owners that have that simplicity. I would've found all these things out with a more thorough test I suppose, but it's been almost two decades since I'd done this, so I didn't pay attention to all of this stuff. I'm getting used to it; I hope in time I will come to like it as much as my old Taurus.
