  1. Thanks guys, I have looked at the instructions and it's well within my skill set. I see they are now offering a "plug and play" option. I'm going to have to see what thats all about.

Is the bottom surface smooth? i was thinking of adding some of this http://www.mossyoakgraphics.com/catalog/product/view/id/934/s/rocker-panel-kit/to them is there were no obtrusive mounting points.

Or maybe theres not enough of the bottom showing when they are retracted to be able to see the camo

  2. Who has them and what are your feelings, are they worth the money? They sure have the cool factor and where I live and hunt I like the idea of not ripping off a set of running boards. I see them all the time along the trails and I've refused to put a set on my Jeep but I have to have them on the truck. Any issue with snow and ice build up not allowing them to function?

I'm also open to other running board suggestions.

  3. A.R.E Z Series is far superior to anything else out there right now. I spent week researching and waiting on install next week. Mileage should not suffer based on my research. Good luck.

scredfisher, will you please report back on your experience with the install and pictures if possible.

  4. I plan to have bed topper added to my truck when it arrives. Cab height, with windows as flush as I can get, currently favoring the Leer brand. This being my first topper I look forward to its usefulness but wonder how fuel mileage will be effected. I don't expect any increases but would be really disappointed if there was a decrease. Whats been the experience of those that run a topper?

Also any suggestion on brands or models are appreciated. I would like the sliding window so my dog can ride in the back and still have access to us in the front, any thoughts on that?

  5. I'm jumping into a 156" WB F250 Crew Cab from a Titan Crew Cab Long Bed. The Titans listed Turn Radius is around 51' (I don't have the numbers in front of me). I always thought the Titan turned like a small tanker, in comparing the numbers the F-250 has a slightly shorter wheel base (156 vs 160) but the truck is a few inches longer, that shorter wheel base made me think it might turn much better. Looking at the numbers for the Ford around 55' curb to curb (again I don't have the exact data in front of me) and I thought it would have been a little smaller radius. The truck I test drove seemed to slide into parking spaces with ease compared to what I'm used to. Cant wait for the new truck to arrive.

  6. I scoured the SD Forums but didn't see any oil threads. I'm awaiting delivery of my new rig and was wondering what oil weights others are using. I live at 9,000'+ and drive mostly above 6000ft in temps that are rarely higher than the mid 80's and sometimes in the mid 20's at the peak of winter. I take an occasional 1000 round trip to Texas usually once in the winter and twice in the Summer with temps in the 95+ range on the summer trips. I've used Synthetic in all my trucks jeeps and motorcycles usually a Mobile product. Does the 6.2 operate better with some oil weights over others (my JEEP happens to operate better with a non manufacturer suggested oil weight)

Second question.....Should I change the oil as soon as I take delivery?
